ROCK HILL - Mrs. Regina Margaret Irving Talewsky, 87, of 3326 Kingsfield Road died Monday, Sept. 18, 2000, at Magnolia Manor.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anne Catholic Church, with Father William F. Pentis officiating. Burial will be at Forest Hills.

A native of Sommerville, Mass., Mrs. Talewsky was a daughter of the late John Irving and Regina Frances Kelley Irving. She was the widow of Jacob Talewsky. She was a homemaker and was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church.

Surviving are her son, Ronald "Ron" Talewsky of Rock Hill; and five grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to St. Anne Catholic Church, 1694 Bird St., Rock Hill, SC 29730 or to Hospice Community Care, 325 S. Oakland Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29730.

Johnny Lowery

SHELBY, N.C. - Mr. Johnny Eugene Lowery, 41, formerly of Charlotte, died Monday, Sept. 18, 2000.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service, Wilson Chapel, 5301 Albemarle Road, with the Rev. James Lowery officiating.

A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Lowery was a son of Ed Lowery of Harrisburg, N.C., and the late Betty Craig Lowery. He attended Olympic High School. He was a certified welder for Hendrick Motorsports. He worked for BFI and D.W. Flowe and Son.

Surviving in addition to his father are four daughters, Rhonda Rowe and Brandy Smith, both of Charlotte, Angel Lowery of Harrisburg and Tasha Lowery of Houston; one brother, James Edward Lowery of Miami; one half - sister, Lisa Fox of Concord, N.C., his step - mother, Darlene Lowery of Harrisburg; his stepbrother, Donald H. Rice of Charlotte; two stepsisters, Donna Hardin and Debbie Ellis, both of Charlotte; his fiancee, Vickie Allen McNeilly of Shelby.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Wilson Chapel.

Roy Norris

WEST COLUMBIA - Mr. Roy Burris Norris, 76, formerly of Florence, died Monday, Sept. 18, 2000.

A graveside service will be 3:30 p.m. today at Southland Memorial Gardens.

A native of York, Mr. Norris was a son of the late Edgar A. Norris and Ethel Erwood Norris. He was a member and usher of St. Peter's Catholic Church. He was vice president and general sales manager of Gilbert Beauty Supply. He was a World War II Navy veteran. He was a past Grand Knight, Knights of Columbus No. 5194 in Florence.

Surviving are his wife, Roberta Falls Norris of West Columbia; his daughter, Sharyn Norris Beveridge of Columbia; two sons, James A. Norris of Columbia and Greg Norris of Charleston; two sisters, Helen Chambers of York and Catherine Kunisch of York; and eight grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. today at Thompson Funeral Home in West Columbia.

Memorials may be made to St. Peter's Catholic Church Building Fund.

James Adams

LANCASTER - Mr. James Carson Adams, 81, of 1365 Suttle Road died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2000, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Lancaster Memorial Park, with Dr. Steve Stewart officiating.

A native of Chesterfield County, Mr. Adams was a son of the late Henry Bob Adams and Laura Ellen Mills Adams. He retired from Springs Industries and was a member of Crestview Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Katie Rollins Adams of Lancaster; two daughters, Judy Kay Adams of Lancaster and Linda Faye McManus of Myrtle Beach; five sisters, Sara Jackson, Louise Ivey and Lola Bigham, all of Lancaster, and Anne Harkey and Mary Hancock, both of Fort Mill; two brothers, John Henry Adams of Lancaster and Dillon Adams of Hartsville; six grandchildren; and two great - grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Mahaffey Funeral Home.

Eileen Akers

NORTH AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Eileen Pressley Akers, 76, of 539 Corley Road, formerly of Basking Ridge, N.J., died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2000, at University Hospital.

The funeral will be 7:30 tonight at Hatcher Funeral Home in Langley, with the Rev. Frank Barker officiating. Burial will be private at Evergreen Cemetery.

A native of Chester, Mrs. Akers was a retired accountant. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Chester.

Surviving are her husband, Robert G. Akers Jr. of North Augusta; her son, Robert G. Akers III of Acworth, Ga.; her daughter, Evelyn Akers Hammett of Graniteville; three brothers, Lytle Pressley of Lexington, John Pressley of Fountain Inn and Ross Pressley of Rock Hill; seven grandchildren; and her grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 6 tonight until the service at Hatcher Funeral Home, or at the home of her daughter, Evelyn Hammett, 1516 Brookstone Drive, Graniteville.

Willie Bagley

CHESTER - Mr. Willie Bagley, 87, of 156 Stadium Drive died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2000, at Chester County Hospital.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Browns Chapel AME Zion Church in Lowrys, with the Rev. O.L. Smith officiating and the Rev. Dr. W.G. Boulware assisting. The eulogy will be given by the Rev. Terrance Grooms. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.

A native of Fairfield County, Mr. Bagley was a son of the late Thomas Bagley and Ella B. Caldwell Bagley. He was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church, where he was a deacon, choir leader and grand president of the prayer band. He was a retired truck driver at Springs Industries, a Mason and a U.S. Army veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Ruby Hill Bagley; five sons, Robert Spears, Willie Hill, Michael Hill and Russell Worthy, all of Chester, and Bobby Gist of Cleveland; nine daughters, Willie Mae Gladney of Winnsboro, Diane Jones of Brooklyn, N.Y., Elnora Hill, Tracy H. Hicks, Geraldine Hill, Joyce V. Hill and Sarah L. Hill, all of Chester, Nancy L. Stevenson of Atlanta and Loretta Sposato of Rock Hill; four brothers, Alexander Bagley of Baltimore, Leroy Bagley of East Orange, N.J., and Joseph Bagley and James "Jimmy" Bagley of Chester; his sister; Shirley B. Sims of Baltimore; several grandchildren; and several great - grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 Friday at King's Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., with Masonic rites, and at other times at the home.

The body will be placed in the church at 12:30 p.m. Saturday

The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at King's Funeral Home.

Crystal Davis

LANCASTER - Ms. Crystal Ann Freeman Davis, 49, of 2310 Zion Road died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Liberty Freewill Baptist Church, with the Rev. Tim Larrimore officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

A native of Mecklenburg County, N.C., Mr. Davis was a daughter of the late John Freeman Sr. and Willia Jean Greene Freeman. She was a homemaker and attended Liberty Freewill Baptist Church.

Surviving are her daughter, Tiffany D. Davis; three brothers, John Freeman Jr. and William A. Freeman, both of Lancaster, and Bobby Spears of Asheville, N.C.; two sisters, Rebecca Freeman and Clara Fleming, both of Lancaster.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Highway, Lancaster.

Soulee Deese

LANDRUM - Mrs. Soulee Deese, 83, formerly of 1318 Pleasant Hill Road, died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2000, at Woodruff Health Care.

The funeral will be 11 today at Wood Mortuary, with the Rev. Don Kelley officiating.

A native of York, Mr. Deese was a son of the late Lonnie Deese and Alice Gaynor Deese. He retired from Victor Mills and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are her son, Alan Deese of California.; two daughters, Ruth Brannon of Landrum and Ann Brown of Greer; two sisters, Connie Clinton and Ruth Hinson, both of Rock Hill; nine grandchildren; and 13 great - grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the daughter's home, Ruth Brannon, 1316 Pleasant Hill Road, Landrum.

Kenneth Vance

ROCK HILL - Mr. Kenneth A. "Butch - Raymond" Vance, 52, of 1226 Crawford Road died Monday, Sept. 18, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at New Mount Olivet A.M.E. Zion Church, with the Rev. Sherman McBeth officiating and assisted by the Revs. Billy Wilson and Lourenia Pride. The eulogy will be given by the Rev. B.R. Wilson. Burial will be at Barber Memorial Cemetery.

A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Vance was the son of the late O'Daniel Vance and Princess Lytle Vance. He attended Emmett Scott High School. He worked for Darby & Sons Well Drilling.

Surviving are his son, Randall Keith Isom of York; four brothers, Michael O. Vance of Valley, Calif., Ronald W. Vance and Stephen "Tony" Vance, both of Rock Hill, and Todd Vance of the home; three sisters, Danice O. Vance and Carrietta Stinson, both of Rock Hill, and Tami V. Byers of Fort Mill; his special friend, Patricia Adams of Rock Hill; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday at Clemons Funeral Home.

The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Robert Mason Jr.

ATLANTA - Mr. Robert Walter Mason Jr., 34, of Lakeland Drive died Friday, Sept. 15, 2000, at home.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at State Branch Cemetery, with the Rev. Kirk Lawton officiating.

A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Mason was a son of Robert Walter Mason of Chester and the late Shirley Graham Mason. He graduated from Emory University and received his master's degree from Georgia State.

Surviving in addition to his father are his brother, Dan Mason of Atlanta; his stepmother, Brenda Mason of Atlanta; and his maternal grandmother, Maude B. Graham of Conway.

Goldfinch Funeral Home is in charge.

Lula Murray

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Lula McClure Murray, 69, of 936-A Odgen Road died Monday, Sept. 18, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 12:30 p.m. Friday at First Calvary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. L.L. Hancock officiating and the Revs. Mary Austin and Ira Roddey assisting. Burial will be at Barber Memorial Cemetery.

A native of Rock Hill, Mrs. Murry was a daughter of Gussie McClure and the late Raymond White. She was the widow of James Murray Sr. of Rock Hill. She attended the public schools of York County.

Surviving in addition to her mother are two sons, James Murray of Rock Hill and Kenny Ray Murray of New Jersey; two brothers, Frank McClure of Rock Hill and Bobby McClure of Charlotte; her sister, Margaret Roddey of Rock Hill; seven grandchildren; and 19 great - grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 tonight at Parker Funeral Home.

The body will be placed in the church at noon Friday.
