McCONNELLS - Mrs. Joyce Jarrett Giles, 66, died Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2000, at home.
The funeral will be 7 p.m. Friday at Bible Baptist Church, 255 S. Hwy. 21 Bypass in Rock Hill, with the Rev. Jim Parrish officiating.
Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Lakeview Memory Gardens in York.
A native of Bluefield, W.Va., Mrs. Giles was a daughter of the late William French Jarrett and Edith French Jarrett.
She was the widow of Ralph Fuller Giles Jr.
She was a member of Bible Baptist Church.
She retired from Hoechst Celanese after more than 30 years of service.
Surviving are two sons, Robert Carson and Jeff Carson, both of Hickory, N.C.; three stepsons, David Giles of Rock Hill; Jeff Giles and Joe Giles, both of York; her daughter, Joy Carson Parrish of Rock Hill; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until the time of the service Friday at Bible Baptist Church in Fort Mill and other times at the home of her daughter, Joy C. Parrish, of 540 Rustlewood Way, Rock Hill.

Rock Hill - Mrs. Alexa Ragin Good, 86, of 809 Sumter Ave. died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2000, at home.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Ebenezer ARP Church, with the Revs. Jack Basie and Boyce Wilson officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the home of her son John D. Good, 816 Myrtle Drive.

Robert Hallman
ROCK HILL - Mr. Robert Ney Hallman, 77, of 3416 Lesslie Highway died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2000, at Ebenezer Nursing Home.
A graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Grandview Memorial Park.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. at First Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, with the Revs. Dr. Robert J. Robinson and Dr. Roy Beckham officiating.
A native of Lancaster, Mr. Hallman was a son of the late Ira Blakely Hallman and Eunice Steele Hallman.
He was a member of First Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, where he was a former deacon and elder.
He was awarded the Deacon Service Award in 1992.
He was a member of American Legion Post No. 34.
He was an electrician with Hallman Brothers and served in World War II with the Navy Seabees.
Surviving are his wife, Carolyn McQueen Hallman; two sons, Richard Hallman of York and Robert Hallman of Edgemoor; his daughter, Debra Turner of Rock Hill; two brothers, Ray Hallman and Calvin Hallman, both of Rock Hill; his sister, Mary Weisz of Rock Hill; and four grandchildren.

Esther Lunsford
CHESTER - Mrs. Esther Roberts Lunsford, 92, of 105 Abell St. died Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2000, at Palmetto Baptist Medical Center in Columbia.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at First Freewill Baptist Church, with the Revs. James Sanders and Chris Snelgrove officiating.
Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
A native of York County, Mrs. Lunsford was a daughter of the late Thomas J. Roberts and Maude Lee Broome Roberts.
She retired from Springs Industries and was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church.
She was a "Goldstar Mother."
Surviving are two sons, Charles Lunsford and Ralph Lunsford, both of Chester; two daughters, Pat Lail of Taylorsville, N.C., and Mary Ann Stevenson of Chester; her brother, Miller Roberts of Johnstown, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

LANCASTER - Mrs. Lola Seegars Kennington, 80, of 1355 Grace Ave. died Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2000, at Lancaster Convalescent Center.

A native of Kershaw County, Mrs. Kennington was a daughter of the late Thomas B. Seegars Sr. and Minnie Holden Seegars.
She was the widow of George Kennington.
She retired from Springs Industries Lancaster Plant and was a member of White Springs Baptist Church.
Surviving are her son, Warren E. Adams of Lancaster; her daughter, Virginia "Jenny" Gardner of Lancaster; two brothers, Thomas B. Seegars Jr. of Fort Lawn and Carl Eugene Seegars of Lancaster; four sisters, Addie Munn of Kershaw, Catherine Parker of Columbia, Lena McManus of Pageland and Joyce Threatt of Lancaster; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

FAR ROCKAWAY, N.Y. - Mr. Sammie L. Massey died Friday, Aug. 25, 2000, in Far Rockaway, N.Y.
The funeral will be 2:30 p.m. today at Mount Hebron Baptist Church in Lesslie, with the Rev. L.L. Robertson officiating and the Revs. George McCoy, John E. Robinson and Willie McCoy assisting.
Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Massey was a son of the late Robert Massey Sr. and Maggie Massey.
He was a former member of Mount Hebron Baptist Church. He worked for Rock Hill Concrete Company.
He was a member of St. Luke Baptist Church in Laurenton, N.Y., where he served as an ordained deacon.
He was a member of the Pastor's Aide Society and was assigned to Missionary Society and Nurses Unit.
He was a member of the Willing Workers Club.
Surviving are four sons, David Massey of Charlotte; Sam Lowery of Baltimore, and Milton Massey and Terry Massey of Far Rockaway; his sister, Mattie Jackson of Roosevelt, N.Y.; three brothers, Robert Massey, Willie Massey and Theodore Massey, all of Rock Hill; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the home of his brother, Robert Massey, 1723 King Drive.

BLACKSTOCK - Mrs. Sarah Lewis Boney Taylor, 100, of 2298 Columbia Highway died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2000, at Chester County Hospital in Chester.

Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of Chester County, Mrs. Taylor was a daughter of the late John Walter Boney and Nancy Ann McKeown Boney.
She was a homemaker and was a member of Cornwell Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are her son, John R. Taylor of Blackstock; her daughter, Sarah Taylor Cassels of Blackstock; her brother, William A. Boney of Columbia; her sister, Marion B. Ballentine of Winnsboro; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A native of Marion, N.C., Mr. Walker was a son of the late Nelson K. Walker and Ellen Epps Walker.
He was a member of Park Baptist Church and was an Army veteran.
He retired from J.P. Stevens after 37 years as a loom technician.
He retired from city of Rock Hill Waste Management Department.
Surviving are his two daughters, Catherine W. Cranford of Columbia and Teresa W. Cook of Charleston, W.Va.; his sister, Leila Avant of Nashville, Tenn.; two grandchildren; and his great-grandchild.
