William Simpson

EASTOVER - Mr. William Douglas Simpson of 140 Mendenhall Road died Saturday, Aug. 19, 2000, at Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Christopher King's Funeral Home, 703 Old York Road, with the Rev. Joseph Neal officiating. Burial will be at the Welsh's Family Cemetery.

Mr. Simpson was a son of Pearl Barrows of New York City.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his son, Eric Simpson of Eastover; two daughters, Crystal Battle and Jada Buchanan, both of Eastover; his brother, Alfred McDonald of Mississippi.; and eight grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at home.

The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. today at Christopher King's Funeral Home.

Auroro Strunk

BLACKSBURG - Mrs. Auroro Marie Raymond Strunk, 79, of 101 Lona Road died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2000, at Upstate Carolina Medical Center.

Burial will be at St. Ann's Cemetery in Providence, R.I.

A native of Central Falls, R.I., Mrs. Strunk was a daughter of the late Wilfred Raymond and Rose Anna Beauregard Raymond. She was of the Catholic faith and retired as a floor lady in the jewelry business.

Surviving are three daughters, Alice Branigan and Jeannette Mathews, both of Blacksburg, and Rosalie Adams of Rhode Island; two sons, Alfred Behney of Blacksburg and Wilfred Strunk of Rhode Island; her brother, Henry Raymond of California; and her grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at Gordon Mortuary and at other times at the home.

Hazel Tingle

FORT MILL - Mrs. Hazel Fern Bennett Tingle, 53, died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral was Thursday at First Baptist Church, with the Revs. Jeff Bedwell and Benny Wade officiating. Burial was at Unity Cemetery.

A native of York County, Mrs. Tingle was a daughter of the late Hazel Floyd Bennett and Letha Edwards Bennett. She graduated from Fort Mill High School and was a member of First Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sons, Darrell Allen Tingle of Greenwood and Michael Shane Tingle of Texas; two sisters, Patricia Crane of Greenville and Elizabeth Ford of Fort Mill; and two granddaughters.

Samuel Addison

Hawthorne, Calif. - Mr. Samuel "Tyrone" Addison, 41, formerly of Chester, died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2000, at St. Centinella Hospital in California.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. today at King's Funeral Home, with the Rev. George B. Guy Jr. officiating and the Rev. Jessie Peay assisting.

A native of Chester County, Mr. Addison was a son of Floree Owens Addison and the late Sam Addison. A graduate of Chester High School, he was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Mr. Addison served in the Navy for seven years and the Navy Reserve. He worked as an electronic technician for Rail System of California.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Erica Addison of Hawthorne, Calif.; his son, Christopher James Addison of Pasadena, Calif., two brothers, Kevin Addison of Chester and Chalmers Addison of Shreveport, La.; his sister, Cheryl Denise Addison of Dublin, Calif.; and his paternal grandmother, Leola Addison of Chester.

The family will receive friends at the home of his mother, 878 Elks Road in Chester.

King's Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., Chester, is in charge.

Odell Everall

LANCASTER - Mr. Richard Odell Everall, 79, of 1869 John Everall Road died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 5 p.m. Sunday at Zion United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Frank Lybrand and Tom McLean officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Lancaster County, Mr. Everall was a son of the late John Richard Everall and Dora McCorkle Everall. He was retired from Springs Industries, Grace Bleachery sewing room. He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Oveta McAteer Everall; his daughter, Laura Everall of Lancaster; and his sister, Irene Everall of Lancaster.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Zion United Methodist Church building fund, 1665 Zion Road, Lancaster, SC 29720 or a charity of one's choice.

Ray Hartsell

LAKE WYLIE - Mr. Ray Hartsell, 32, of Lake Wylie died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2000.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Bethel Baptist Church, 4801 Tuckaseegee Road, Charlotte, with the Rev. Rick Duncan officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Belmont, N.C.

A native of Charlotte, Mr. Hartsell was a son of Bobby Ray Hartsell Sr. of Clover and Delores Frazier Hartsell of Lake Wylie. He was associated with Hartsell Brothers Fence Company.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife, Tracy Hartsell of Cramerton; his son, Bobby Ray "Trey" Hartsell III; two sisters, Renae Shehane of Davidson, N.C., and Michelle Broome of Charlotte; his paternal grandmother, Margaret Hartsell of Mint Hill, N.C.; and his maternal grandmother, Edith Maye of Concord, N.C.

McEwen Funeral Service, Charlotte Chapel, is in charge.

Peggy Neely

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Peggy Adams Neely, 63, of 1075 Hands Mill Highway died Friday, Aug. 25, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Tirzah ARP Church, with the Revs. Jan Senneker and Barry Eller officiating. Burial will be at Ebenezer ARP Church cemetery.

A native of York County, Mrs. Neely was a daughter of Carrie Walker Adams and the late S. H. Adams. She was retired from the U.S. Post Office and was a member of Tirzah ARP Church.

Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband, John Richard Neely Sr.; her son, John Richard Neely Jr. of Rock Hill; two daughters, Cindy N. Nelson of Lake Wales, Fla., and Laurie Gainey of Rock Hill; her sister, Shirley Eaker of Denver, N.C.; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Bass Funeral Home.

Mary Nichols

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Mary West Nichols, 85, formerly of Evans, Ga., and Augusta, Ga., died Friday, Aug. 25, 2000, at Westminster Towers Health Care Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Platt's Belair Road Chapel, with the Rev. Kevin Lovello officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

A native of Evans, Mrs. Nichols was a daughter of the late Warren C. West and Annie Gray West. She was a member of Warren Baptist Church, and was a member of Martinez Order of the Eastern Star.

Surviving are two sons, Jimmie Nichols and Carl R. Nichols, both of Athens, Ga.; her daughter, Ann Nichols Whisonant of Rock Hill; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.

Frances Revels

LANCASTER - Mrs. Frances Elizabeth Hardin Revels, 78, of 1589 Hillcrest Ave. died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Hartley Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kevin Cooley officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

A native of Lancaster County, Mrs. Revels was a daughter of the late Calvin Marion Hardin and Ida Steele Hardin. She was the widow of Billy Leroy Revels. Mrs. Revels was retired from Springs Industries and was a member of Leroy Springs Senior Citizens Club and Grace United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Toni Taylor of Charleston and Bobbie Carpenter of Amherst, Va.; her brother, Charles M. Hardin of Lancaster; two sisters, Mary Ida Lucas and Dorothy Watts, both of Lancaster; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Highway, Lancaster.

William Walker

ROCK HILL - Mr. William A. Walker, 70, of 4410 Winrock Lane died Monday, Aug. 21, 2000, at home.

A memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. today at The Oratory, with Father David Boone officiating.

A native of Rochester, N.Y., Mr. Walker was a son of the late William Woodfin and Martha Effrat Woodfin. He was of the Catholic faith and attended The Oratory. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II and the Korean War.

Surviving are his wife, Elaine Walker; his son, Scott W. Walker of Charlotte; his daughter, Lauri G. Bono of Charlotte; his stepdaughter, Connie Bauman of Rock Hill; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends after the memorial service.

Beatsy Coleman Sr.

CHESTER - Mr. Beatsy "Joe" Coleman Sr., 62, of 4320 Clareway Road, Apt. 21, in Baltimore, formerly of Fairfield County, died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Upper Hope Station Baptist Church in Fairfield County, with the Rev. George Lowry Jr. officiating. The Rev. Moses Lightner will give the eulogy. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Fairfield County, Mr. Coleman was a son of the late John Coleman and Mary B. Strothers Coleman. He was a member of Upper Hope Station Baptist Church, was a U.S. Army veteran and was a former truck driver.

Surviving are his wife, Louise Coleman of Charlotte; four sons, Harry Lightner of Baltimore and Beatsy Coleman Jr., Antonio Coleman and Shawn Holmer, all of Charlotte; three daughters, Angela Coleman, Paulette Coleman and Debra Jean Anthony, all of Charlotte; three brothers, Dave Young of Chester, John D. Coleman of Baltimore and Robert Williams of Greenville; and three sisters, Mamie Carter and Peggie Young, both of Chester, and Margie Dalton of Charlotte.

The body may be viewed from 9 a.m.to 1 p.m. today at Kings Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., Chester.

Kings Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Lydia Mae Dixon

CHARLOTTE - Mrs. Lydia Mae Dixon, 62, of 3607 Wheatley Ave., apt. D, died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be noon Monday at Greater Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Charlotte with the Rev. Dr. George Cook officiating. Burial will be at Gethsemane Baptist Church Cemetery in Liberty Hill.

A native of Lancaster County, Mrs. Dixon was a daughter of the late Richard Cunningham and Daisy Cunningham.

Surviving are her daughter, Barbara Dixon of Charlotte; three brothers, David Cunningham of Lancaster, Thomas Cunningham of Landover, Md., and James R. Cunningham of Charlotte; four sisters, Sarah Jane Cunningham and Jenny Cunningham, both of Lancaster, Rose Stinson of Washington, D.C., and Kerry L. Slater of Turkey; one granddaughter and one great-grandchild.

Alexander Funeral Home is in charge.

James Knight Jr.

LANCASTER - Mr. James Rickey Knight Jr., 21, of 400 Park Drive died Friday, Aug. 25, 2000, at Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday at Friendship Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ronnie Boone officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

A native of Monroe, N.C., Mr. Knight was a son of James Rickey Knight Sr. and Patricia Payne Ferguson. He was a member of the Faith Family Church of Jefferson, where he was youth minister and office manager.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his brother, Stuart Knight of Lancaster; his stepbrother, Kyle Knight of Pageland; his stepsister, Tiffany Ferguson of Charleston; and his maternal grandparents, James Payne and Irene Payne of Lancaster.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home, Lancaster Chapel and other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
