CLOVER - Mrs. Beth Bennett Green, 68, of 11 Hamilton's Bay Court, died Thursday, April 27, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Paul Hutchison officiating. Burial will be at Woodside Cemetery.
A native of York County, Mrs. Green was a daughter of the late William Eugene Bennett and Ruth Parrish Bennett. She was the widow of Marshall D. Green. Mrs. Green retired from Dr. Patrick's office after 23 years of service, and she was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Carol Landis of Lake Wylie and Marsha Baker of Kershaw; her son, David Green of Clover; her brother, James Taze Bennett of Clover; her sister, Gene Parrish Bennett of Clover; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Gene Bennett, 185 Lawson Lakes, Clover.

Nick Hopkins
GREAT FALLS - Mr. Nick Hopkins, 54, of 6559 Richburg Road died Thursday, April 27, 2000, at home.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at Great Falls Church of the Nazarene, with the Revs. Charles Horn, Joe Jones, Henry Adams and William Carter officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery.
A native of York County, Mr. Hopkins is the son of Reece Hopkins and Georgia Adams Hopkins. He was a former supervisor with Defenders Industries and a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife, Dorothy Dixon Hopkins; four sons, Kenneth Hopkins and Edward Moseley, both of Great Falls, and Thomas Hopkins and Richard Hopkins, both of Lancaster; three stepsons, James W. Taylor Jr., Clyde Matthew Taylor and Daniel Taylor, all of Great Falls; his stepdaughter, Gail Hopkins of Great Falls; two brothers, Johnny Hopkins and William Hopkins, both of Great Falls; three sisters, Joyce Fleetwood, Linda Carol Goings and Barbara Payseur, all of Great Falls; and 13 grandchildren.

ROCK HILL - Mr. James B. "J.B." House of 338 State St. died Wednesday, April 26, 2000, at home.
The funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Barber Memorial Cemetery, with the Rev. J.E. Boulware officiating.
Mr. House attended the public schools of York County and was a member of Cross Road Baptist Church.
Surviving are his brother, Willie Edward House of Rock Hill; and his sister, Bessie Whitlock of Rock Hill.

Woodrow Hutchison
ROCK HILL - Mr. Woodrow "Woody" Hutchison of 1025 Hough Circle died Wednesday, April 26, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at the United House of Prayer for All People, with Apostles E. Webb, R. White and St. Elder E. Morgan officiating. Burial will be at Barber Memorial Cemetery.
A Rock Hill native, Mr. Hutchison was a son of Rose Harrison and the late Will Ryan. He was a member of United House of Prayer for All People where he served as a minister, President of Presidents and was a church bus driver. He was employed by the Lowa Bahnson Company.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, Annie P. Hutchison; his son, Kendall Hutchison; two daughters, Angela Hutchison and LaShea Hutchison, both of Rock Hill; four brothers, Norman Hutchison and James Hutchison, both of Rock Hill, Grover Harrison of Charlotte, and Allen Harrison of Staten Island, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.
The body may be viewed from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the church.

LANCASTER - Mrs. Saralie Bennett Simpson, 77, of 2947 Kershaw-Camden Highway died Friday, April 28, 2000, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Luke United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Carlos Gardner officiating.
A native of Lancaster County, Mrs. Simpson was a daughter of the late Edgar Bennett and Sadie Dabney Bennett. A retired florist with Gladden's Flower Shop, she was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Pratt H. Simpson; her son, Al Simpson of Lancaster; her daughter, Sara Jane Johnson of Lancaster; her brother, Earl Bennett of Lancaster; her sister, Alice Elliott of Camden; and five grandchildren.

LANCASTER - Mr. George Roscoe Starnes, 93, died Friday, April 28, 2000, at Lancaster Convalescent Center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Hartley Funeral Home, with the Revs. Betty Moore and Anthon Arant officiating.
Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens in Charlotte.
A native of Union County, N.C., Mr. Starnes was a son of the late William Benson Starnes and Mary Threatt Starnes.
He was first married to the late Allie Snipes Starnes, second to the late Nellie Vincent Starnes and then to the late Edna Fowler Starnes.
He was an associate minister of McClain Road Baptist Church in Charlotte.
Surviving are two sons, Robert G. Starnes of Lancaster and W.B. Starnes of Monroe, N.C.; five daughters, the Rev. Betty S. Moore and Mary Rose Harding, both of McBee, Myrtle Dabbs of Lancaster, Allie Mae Mackey of Heath Springs and Mildred Lorene Cranford of Columbia; 30 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

MONROE, N.C. - Mr. Boyd Carlyle Trull, 73, died Thursday, April 27, 2000.

A native of Union County, N.C., Mr. Trull was a son of the late Preston Carl Trull and Ethel Davis Trull.
He was the owner and operator of Trull's Garage. He was the widower of Rudy Eudy Trull.
Surviving are two sons, Tim Trull and Barney Trull, both of Monroe; two daughters, Carol Trull Hillard of Monroe and Belinda Trull Huff of Fort Mill; two brothers, Ted Trull of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Wayne Trull of Rocky Mount, N.C.; and eight grandchildren.

A native of Winamac, Ind., Mrs. Wilson was a daughter of the late Jesse Douglas and Arvilla Durflinger.
A homemaker, Mrs. Wilson was the widow of Erbin Christian Wilson.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Gastonia, N.C.
Surviving are her son, Edward F. Wilson of Clover; two grandchildren; and her great-grandchild.

John Wright
CHESTER - The Rev. John W. Wright of 2104 New Hope Church Road in the Baton Rouge Community died Monday, April 24, 2000, at Providence Hospital in Columbia.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul Baptist Church, with the Rev. J. Heath officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
The Rev. Wright was a son of the late Odess Wright and Mary Ann Wilkes Wright.
He attended Leeds Elementary School and joined Red Hill Baptist Church at an early age.
He joined the Army in 1941 and served three years.
He worked 34 years as a mail handler with the U.S. Postal Service in Baltimore.
He attended Macon College in Baltimore.
He was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, where he was a Male Choir member and a deacon.
He was called to preach in 1979 and served at several churches in Baltimore and Washington.
He moved to Chester in 1984 and was pastor at Seekwell Baptist Church in Newberry and Mount Olive Baptist Church in Fairfield County.
He joined St. Paul Baptist Church in 1987 and assisted pastors there.
Surviving are his wife, Katie V. Wright; his daughter, Bernadine Wright of Baltimore; his son, Joseph Coleman-Bahr of the home; his brother, Eli Wright of Greensboro, N.C.; four sisters, Geneva Hicks, Grace Rambert, both of New York, Pearl Young of Greensboro, N.C., and Mable Price of Chester; and four grandchildren.

Ruth Baxley
LANCASTER - Mrs. Ruth Montgomery Baxley, 80, of Lancaster Convalescent Center, formerly of Rugby Road, died Friday, April 28, 2000, at Springs Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be 4 p.m. today at Shiloh ARP Church, with the Revs. David Lauten and Wayne Dickson officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.
A native Lancaster County, Mrs. Baxley was a daughter of the late John Hazel Montgomery and Maggie Barton Montgomery.
She was the widow of Ralph D. Baxley.
Retired from Springs Industries, she was a member of Leroy Springs Senior Citizens and was a member of Shiloh ARP Church, where she taught Sunday school.
With the Women of the Church, Mrs. Baxley served as spiritual life chairwoman and department chairwoman of foreign missions.
She was past chairwoman and secretary treasurer of the Mollie Draffin Circle and was a member of the Patrick Bible class.
Surviving are her son, Charles "Sparky" Thompson of Lancaster; her daughter, Peggy T. Nagy of Georgetown; two brothers, Robert B. Montgomery of Lancaster and Charles H. Montgomery of Charlotte; her sister, Margaret M. Adams of Lancaster; her grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.

Woodrow Blackmon
LANCASTER - Mr. Woodrow "Blackie" Blackmon, 85, formerly of Lancaster died Friday, April 28, 2000, in Seiverville, Tenn.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Lancaster Memorial Park, with the Rev. Coit Auten officiating.
A native of Lancaster, Mr. Blackmon was a son of the late Julius Early Blackmon and Esther Elizabeth B. Blackmon.
He was a former member of First Baptist Church of Lancaster and was retired from the Coca-Cola Company of Lancaster after more than 40 years.
He was a Mason and was a member of the Jackson Masonic Lodge No. 53.
Surviving are his nephew, Julius Blackmon of Marietta, Ga.; and two nieces, Patricia Godwin of Kodak, Tenn., and Brenda Skinner of Marietta.

A native of Chase City, Va., Mr. Cape was a son of the late Albert C. Cape and Mae Belle McClain Cape.
He was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church and was a retired brick mason with Jabo Construction Co. Inc.
Surviving are his wife, Kay Frederick Cape; four sons, Steve Cape of Charlotte, James M. Cape and Randal N. Cape, both of Rock Hill, and William H. Oakes of Half Moon Bay, Calif.; six daughters, Marla C. Torrence of Catawba, Christi C. Westbrook of Plum Branch, Kellie K. Cape of the home, Deborah O. Husser of Lincolnton, N.C., Karen M. Oakes of Klamath Falls, Ore., and Sandra O. Gist of Westminster; five sisters, Elmer C. Tompkins of North Augusta, Mae C. Bedgood and Mary C. Casey, both of Augusta, Ga., Annie Belle Dilworth of Greer and Jean C. Motes of Belvedere; 36 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
