Becky Smith Brown, 50, of 708 Cypress Lakes Road, Newberry, wife of Terry R. Brown, died Saturday, March 20, 2004 at her residence.
Mrs. Brown was born in Joanna, a daughter of the late Marvin R. and Betty Smith Shealy. She was a L.P.N. employed by the Newberry County Memorial Hospital and she was a member of Lewis Memorial United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Amy B. and Doug Metts of Newberry; a son, Nick Brown of Newberry; two grandchildren, Kelsi and Corbin Metts of Newberry; two sisters, Barbara Smith Brown of Clinton; Debra Smith Taylor of Prosperity; and a life long friend, Angela Livingston. Her special Angels were Tracy Werts, Thad Werts, Chandra Padget, Jenny Lee Foster, Dick Foster, Susan Cook, Amy Kirkland, Christy McDonald, Marie Douglas, Kathy Stroud, Edna Henderson, Edith Barker, Laurie Ruff, Amy W. Shealy, Marsha B. Mann, Dr. John Brown, Dr. Mark Davis, Leann Davis, Florence McCullough, Jonelle Morrison, Steve Hamilton, Loretta Hamilton, Dr. Billy Odom, Dr. Jay Godines, Missy Cothran, Mary Catherine Reynolds, Billy Frye, Genevieve Frye, Bill Barfield, and Joan Barfield.
Funeral services for Becky Smith Brown 4:00 P.M. Monday at Lewis United Methodist Church by the Rev. Walter Green. Interment will be in Newberry Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. Sunday at the Whitaker Funeral Home and the family will be at her residence, 708 Cypress Lakes Road.

Shirley Brown Sease

Shirley Brown Sease, 67, of 10 Mitchell Lane, Newberry, widow of Heyward C. Sease, Sr., died Friday, March 19, 2004 at her residence.
Mrs. Sease was born on September 14, 1936 in Newberry County, a daughter of the late Floyd Lee and Vera Risner Brown. She was a retired employee at Damon International.
Mrs. Sease is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Barbara Ann and Clint Hamilton and Karen Sue Frady, all of Newberry; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Bessie and Robert Nesbitt of Aiken, Luda Busby of Augusta, and Daisy and Duane Stuck of Blythwood; a sister-in-law, Dorothy M. Brown of Newberry; nine grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Heyward C. Sease, Jr. and a brother, Tommy F. Brown.
Funeral services for Shirley Brown Sease will be conducted at 2:00 P. M. Monday at the Whitaker Funeral Home by the Rev. Wally Hoyle. Interment will be in Newberry Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 2:30 to 4:00 P. M. Sunday at the Whitaker Funeral Home. The family will at the residence of Mrs. Dorothy M. Brown, 72 Mitchell Lane, Newberry.

Roger C. Mercier, 45, of 14233 Hwy 121, Newberry, died at his residence
Tuesday, March 16, 2004.
Mr. Mercier was born on May 31, 1958 in Chicago, IL, a son of John C. Mercier.
Mr. Mercier is survived by father of the home.
Funeral services for Roger C. Mercier will be conducted at 11:00 A. M. Tuesday at the Whitaker Funeral Home.

Martha Caroline Bouknight

Martha Caroline Bouknight, 88, formerly of 1803 Nance St, Newberry, died Monday, March 15, 2004 at The Haven in the Summit in Columbia.
Miss Bouknight was born on August 21, 1915 in Newberry County, a daughter of the late Rev. William R. and Mattie Buzhardt Bouknight. She graduated Lander College and taught third grade for many years in Newberry County. She was a member of the Newberry County, the South Carolina, and the National Retired Teachers Associations and the Newberry Historical Society. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church, the Ezell Bible Class and the United Methodist Women Circle #1.
Miss Bouknight was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Miss Bouknight is survived by five nieces, Anita Franklin of Columbia, Dr. Barbara A. Derrick and Dr. Martha N. Bouknight both of Summerville, Betty Kendrick of Lexington, and Marie B. Allen of Alexandria, VA; five nephews, Rev. Dr. W. R. Bouknight, III of Memphis, TN, Joe C. Bouknight of Danville, VA, J. A. Bouknight, Jr. of Washington , D.C., Dr. James G. Bouknight of Columbia, and Dr. Frank H. Bouknight of Summerville.
Funeral services for Martha C. Bouknight will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Friday at Central United Methodist Church by Rev. John Miller and Rev. Dr. W.R. Bouknight, III. Interment will be in Rosemont Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1:30 P.M. to 2:30 P.M. Friday at Henry Hall at Central United Methodist Church.

Charlie McMillian Senn

Charlie McMillan Senn, 90, of J. F. Hawkins Healthcare, died Friday, March 12, 2004 at J. F. Hawkins Healthcare.
Mr. Senn was born on June 6, 1913, Silverstreet Community of Newberry County, a son of the late J. Foster and Elizabeth McMillan Senn.
Mr. Senn was a farmer. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific Theater with the U. S. Army. He received the Purple Heart and a Bronze Star.
Mr. Senn was a life member of Trinity United Methodist Church and taught Sunday School, a member of the Historical Society, and a member of American Legion Post # 24. He was a graduate of Newberry College, class of 1949.
Mr. Senn is survived by four sisters and brothers-in-law, Lena S. Webb of Spartanburg, Judy S. Schell of Sharpsburg, GA, Dolly S. and Charles York of Rock Hill, and Sue S. and Herb White of Murfreesboro, TN; three brothers and sisters-in-law, George F. and Cornelia Senn and Billy and Winnie Senn, all of Newberry, Angus and Genevieve Senn of Silverstreet; a sister-in-law, Audrey S. Senn of Newberry. He was predeceased by two brothers, Jesse W. Senn and Frank M. Senn, Sr.
Funeral services for Charlie M. Senn will be conducted at 2:00 P. M. Tuesday at Trinity United Methodist Church by the Rev. Hugh Bickley. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:00 P. M. Monday at the Whitaker Funeral Home.

Donna Smith Shelton, 38, 100 Crown Empire Court, Simpsonville, wife of Dwight J. Shelton III, died Thursday March 11, 2004, at the Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Shelton was born on June 21, 1965 in Columbia, a daughter of Carl S. Smith and Emily Moore Epting. She was self employed.
Mrs. Shelton is survived by her husband, Dwight J. Shelton, III, and son, Jayson S. Shelton both of the home; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dale (Emily) Epting of Prosperity and Mr. and Mrs. Carl (Callie) Smith of Tryon, NC; grandfather, E. K. Smith of Newberry; grandmother, Johnnie G. Ladd of Blair; and mother-in-law, Martha Jennings Shelton of Simpsonville. She was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth E. Smith.
Funeral services for Donna Smith Shelton will be conducted at 2:00 P. M. Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church by the Rev. Brent Nichols. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Epting, 843 SC Hwy 773, Prosperity. The family will receive friends after the service at the church.
