James Sanders
CHESTER - Mr. James "Att" Sanders, 74, formerly of Ramsey Grove Apartments, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at Mercy Hospital in Charlotte.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Mount Prospect Baptist Church in Chester, with the Rev. George Sims officiating and the Rev. A.A. Bankhead assisting. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of Chester, Mr. Sanders was a son of the late Jimmy Sanders or Arleava Graham Sanders. He attended the public schools of Chester County and was a member of Mount Prospect Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was retired from Essex Group in Chester.
Surviving are five sons, Calvin Sanders, Hazel Sanders and Stanley Sanders, all of Chester, James M. Sanders of McConnells and Alex C. Sanders of Fort Polk, La.; 10 daughters, Rosa Johnson of Baltimore, Ester J. Hughes of Greensboro, N.C., Annie L. Sanders, Artelia Pendergrass, Margaret "Kitty" Ayers, Gail McCree, Mary Moore, Vickie Radford, Rebecca Sanders and Eloise Minter, all of Chester; two brothers, Johnny Gus Sanders of High Point, N.C. and David Lee Hardin of Chester; 50 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the home of Stanley Sanders, 187 Old York Road, Chester.
The body will be placed in the church at 12:30 p.m. today.

Rachel Watts
ROCK HILL - Mrs. Rachel Cumming Watts, 94, of Eden Gardens died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center.
A graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte, with the Rev. James Correll officiating.
A native of Salisbury, N.C., Mrs. Watts was a daughter of the late Charles Roe Cumming and Phoebe Elizabeth Bostian. She was the widow of Troy Franklin Watts. She was a retired secretary for the Mecklenburg County Health Department and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Charlotte.
Surviving are a nephew and two nieces.

Ninetta Bennett
FORT MILL - Mrs. Ninetta Louise Maxwell Bennett, 87, of 1194 Kanawha Court died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, at Magnolia Manor in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be private.
A native of Odessa, Mo., Mrs. Bennett was a daughter of the late Carl Maxwell and Alice Allen Maxwell. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are two sons, David Fisher of Fort Mill and Russell Fisher of Stevenson, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.

Vivian Catoe
KERSHAW - Mrs. Vivian Twitty Catoe died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, at White Oak Manor in Lancaster.
The funeral will be Monday at Second Baptist Church in Kershaw. The time will be announced later.

Cheryl Hammond
CHESTER - Mrs. Cheryl B. Hammond, 46, of 630 Dupree St. died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Forest Hills Funeral Home Chapel in Woodruff, with the Rev. Carrol Caldwell officiating. Burial will be at Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
A native of Rutherford County, N.C., Mrs. Hammond was the widow of Bruce Hammond. She was the co-owner of The Hair & Nail Studio in Rock Hill.
Surviving are her daughter, Lauren L. Taylor of Woodruff; her mother, Carolyn F. Taylor of Woodruff; her father, Jim W. Bradley of Forest City, N.C.; her sister, Kristie T. Henderson of Ocean Springs, Miss.; and her grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Forest Hills Funeral Home and at other times at the home of her mother, 129 Plantation Drive, Woodruff.
Woodrow Dunovant
CHESTER - Mr. Woodrow Dunovant of 538 Myrtle Ave. died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000, at Chester County Hospital.
The funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Monday at Friendship Baptist Church, with Pastor W.W. Page officiating and the Rev. L.L. Robinson assisting. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of Chester County, Mr. Dunovant was a son of Reba Moore Dunovant and the late Woods Dunovant. He attended the public schools of Chester County and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Josephine Culp Dunovant; six children, Angela Brown, Azzielean Feaster, Wanda Jackson, Asrsonia Jackson, Leroy Culp and Louis Jackson, all of Chester; three brothers, John Dunovant, Golden Dunovant and Curtis Dunovant, all of Chester, his sister, Katie Coleman of Chester; and 23 grandchildren.
The body may be viewed from 1 to 8 tonight and 9 a.m. to noon Monday at Christopher King's Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, Chester. The body will be taken to the church at 1:30 p.m. Monday.

Pansy Harris
ROCK HILL - Mrs. Pansy Griffin Harris, 71, of 221 Lee St. died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, at home.
A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Grandview Memorial Park, with the Rev. John Shehan officiating.
A native of Fort Mill, Mrs. Harris was a daughter of the late Roy Griffin and Mary McKinney Griffin. She was the widow of Gene P. Harris.
She was a former employee of Rock Hill Printing & Finishing Co. and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are three sons, Mike Harris of Myrtle Beach, Stan Harris of Charlotte and Perry Harris of Corpus Christi, Texas; and four grandchildren.

A native of Atlanta, Mrs. Jordan was a daughter of the late James F. Collins and Eva Anthony Collins. She was the widow of Raymond L. Jordan. Mrs. Jordan was a seamstress and was a member of Hawthorne Lane United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Dick Jordan of Rock Hill and Scott Jordan Sr. of Charlotte; her brother, Jack Collins of Kansas City, Mo.; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

ROCK HILL - Ms. Nannie Lee Lowery, 68, 1012 Calhoun St. died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000, at Brian Center in Gastonia, N.C.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday at Parker Funeral Home, with the Rev. B.R. Wilson officiating. The burial will be at Barber Memorial Cemetery.
Ms. Lowery was a daughter of the late William Lowery and Sally Hinton Lowery. She attended the public schools of York County.
Surviving are two sons, Richard Lowery and Harvey Lowery, both of Rock Hill; and four brothers, Sammie Lowery, Frank Lowery, William Lowery and Johnson Lowery, all of Rock Hill.

Velma Paul
OXFORD, Ala. - Mrs. Velma Paul of 1125 Hamric Drive died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, at Regional Medical Center.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Miller Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs. Fred Bueto and Gary Rivers officiating. Burial will follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
A native of Talladega, Ala., Mrs. Paul was retired from the Anniston Army Depot and was a member of the NAFE. She was a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church. She was the widow of Willie H. Paul.
Survivors include her daughter, Bobbie McElhany of Rock Hill; her son, Billy D. Paul of Southside, Ala.; two sisters, Evonne Cassity of Oxford and Ferndell Hoover of Anniston, Ala.; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and her great-great-grandchild.

James Small
ROCK HILL - Mr. James Harold Small Jr., 59, of 744 Briarcliff Road died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, at Ebenezer Nursing Home.
The funeral will be 4 p.m. Tuesday at Greene Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Jimmy Holley officiating.
A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Small was the son of Gladys Smith Small and the late James H. Small Sr. He was a retired automobile salesman and of Baptist faith.
Surviving are his mother, Gladys Smith Small of the home; three sons, James H. Small III of Rock Hill, Anthony Small and Stephen Small, both of Stockton, Calif.; his daughter, Kimberly Dawn Stutts of Douglasville, Ga.; two brothers, Rick Small of Rock Hill and Kimer Small of Wadena, Minn.; his sister, Linda Small of Rock Hill; and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends following the memorial service and at other times at the home.

Paul Stevenson
GREAT FALLS - Mr. Paul Stevenson, 67, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, at Chester County Hospital.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Elizabeth Heights Cemetery in Great Falls, with the Rev. Michael Golden officiating.
Mr. Stevenson was a son of the late Nathan and Emma Williams Stevenson.
A plumber, he attended public schools in Great Falls and attended church in Washington, D.C.
Surviving are his daughter, Felicia Hudson of Washington, D.C.; two sisters, Nadine Culp of Great Falls and Margie Johnson of Charlotte; two brothers, John Stevenson of High Point, N.C., and Nathaniel Stevenson of Charlotte; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6 to 7 tonight at Washington Funeral Home.
Lindsay Thomas
YORK - Mr. Lindsay Sylvesta Thomas, 98, of 2917 Black Highway died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Beersheba Presbyterian Church in Clover. The burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of York County, Mr. Thomas was a son of the late James Edward Thomas and Sarah Wilkerson Thomas. He was the widower of Harriett Viola Chambers Thomas.
Mr. Thomas was a retired farmer and carpenter. He was an elder of Beersheba Presbyterian Church and was a member of the church's cemetery committee.
Surviving are three daughters, Virginia Thomas Williams of Rock Hill, Annie Thomas Bigham of Florence and Harriett Thomas Covington of Mebane, N.C.; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.

YORK - Mr. Ronald Dean "Big Daddy Dean" Williams, 49, of 8090 Park Place Road died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at York Church of God, with the Rev. Donald Hawkins officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Sharon.
A native of York County, Mr. Williams was a son of Nellie Pursley Williams and the late Samuel Saye Williams Sr. He was a cattleman and farmer and was a member of York Church of God.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Gail Brewington Williams, his son, Justin Dean Williams of York; his brother, Samuel Saye "Bud" Williams Jr. of York; three sisters, Frances Williams Broome of Long Beach, N.C., Jane Williams Kimbrell of Rock Hill and Joyce Williams Adkins of York.
