ROCK HILL - Mr. Thomas Roach Jr., of 164 Bynum Ave. died Friday, Nov. 26, 1999, at home.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Ebenezer Baptist Church, with the Rev. Charles Woods officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of York County, Mr. Roach was the son of the late Tom Roach and Fanny Roach. He was a carpenter and was retired from the Rock Hill Printing & Finishing Co.
Surviving are his wife, Julia B. Roach; two sons, Thomas Roach III and Larry Roach, both of Rock Hill; five daughters, Margaret R. Jordan, Rhonda D. Roach and Gladys R. Hall, all of Rock Hill, and Cornelius Roach and Fannie R. Mack, both of Winston-Salem, N.C.; her sister, Arnetta Gibbs of Rock Hill; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday at Parker Funeral Home and other times at the home or at 336 Peppermill Drive.

James Roddey Jr.
LANCASTER - Mr. James Gillespie "Jimmy" Roddey Jr., 65, of 1638 Springdale Road died Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999, at the Dorn VA Hospital in Columbia.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Cauthen Funeral Home, Lancaster Chapel, with the Rev. Todd Robinson officiating. Burial will be at West Side Cemetery.
A native of Lancaster, Mr. Roddey was a son of the late James Gillespie and Louise Jane Sullivan Roddey Sr. He was a U.S. Army veteran and worked at Springs Industries Grace Bleachery and Food Lion.
Surviving are his brother, Charles Roddey of Manhattan Beach, Calif.

LANCASTER - Mrs. Claudia Stogner Turner, 95, of 3023 Flat Creek Road, died Friday, Nov. 26, 1999, at Springs Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Antioch Baptist Church with the Revs. Kenneth Wren and Frank Barwig officiating. Burial will be at Antioch Baptist Church cemetery.
A native of Lancaster, Mrs. Turner was a daughter of the late John George Washington Stogner and Nannie Duren Stogner. She was retired from Springs Industries and was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Joseph "Kell" Turner; her daughter, Lonnie Evans of Lancaster; her grandchild; two stepgrandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.

Marcus Williams
KERSHAW - Mr. Marcus Gary Williams, 83, of 6939 Kershaw-Camden Highway, died Friday, Nov. 26, 1999, at the Kershaw County Medical Center in Camden.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at the Center Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Marion Dry officiating. Burial will be at the Center Grove Baptist Church cemetery.
A native of Lancaster, Mr. Williams was a son of the late Morris Leroy Williams and Mazie Hilton Williams.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was the owner and operator of Bangs Place. He was a member of Center Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Helen Outen Williams; his brother, Douglas H. Williams of Kershaw; and his sister, Mary W. Gay of Kershaw.
The family will receive friends after the graveside service and at other times at the home.

LANCASTER - Mrs. Virginia "Ginger" Franklin Blackmon, 47, of 482 Windy Hill Lane died Sunday, Nov. 28, 1999, at Springs Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hartley Funeral Home, with the Revs. Mike Rouse and Wayne Dickson officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.
A native of Salem, Ky., Mrs. Blackmon was a daughter of Phyllis Ford Franklin Prophett and the late Robert Franklin.
A homemaker, Mrs. Blackmon was the personnel secretary for Duracell for many years. She was a member of Bellview Baptist Church in Laurens.
Surviving, in addition to her mother, are her husband, Blease Blackmon Jr. of the home; her stepson, David Wylie Blackmon of Columbia; her stepfather, Joe Prophett of Lancaster; her stepmother, Carrie Franklin of Waterloo; and two sisters, Gail Franklin Tenneson and Robbie Franklin Satterfield, both of Spartanburg.

CHESTER - Mrs. Ruby Hope McCameron, 75, of 510 Sixth St. died Sunday, Nov. 28, 1999, at home.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Barron Funeral Home, with the Revs. Dale Roddey and Steve McCameron officiating. Burial will be at Chester Memorial Gardens.
A native of York, Mrs. McCameron was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. She attended the Richland County public schools and was retired from Springs Industries.
Mrs. McCameron was the widow of James G. McCameron.

GREAT FALLS - Mrs. Cleo Myles, 81, of Melrose Apartments, No. 5, 300 Sunset Ave., died Friday, Nov. 26, 1999, at Lancaster Convalescent Center in Lancaster.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Washington Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Marian Crawford officiating. Burial will be at Camp Welfare AME Zion Church in Winnsboro.
Mrs. Myles was a daughter of the late Henry Gibson and Nina Tidwell Gibson. She was a member of Faith Temple in Landsford, where she served as the associate pastor and the educational instructor for the adults in the union.
Surviving are two sisters, Charlie Mae Gibson Moore and Alice Gibson Manning, both of Great Falls.

MARION - Mrs. Dorothy Mae Paige Thompson, 68, of 1765 Wise Chapel Court died Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999, at a Florence hospital.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Richardson Funeral Home. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Born in Marion, Mrs. Thompson was a daughter of the late Fred Paige and Nora Lane Paige. She was a homemaker and member of the Reedy Creek Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Laura Perry Sunday school class.
Surviving are her husband, Donnie T. Thompson of the home; two sons, Donnie "Terry" Thompson of Fort Mill and Larry C. Thompson of Marion; four grandchildren; and her great-grandchild.

Edward Abell
CHESTER - Mr. Edward Crawford "Ed" Abell, 83, of Elm Avenue died Sunday, Nov. 28, 1999, at Chester County Hospital.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Presbyterian Church Cemetery, with the Revs. Thomas Diggs and Donald Scoggins officiating.
A native of Chester County, Mr. Abell was a son of the late Stuart Star Abell and Winnie Crawford Abell. He was the widower of Hallie Ball Abell. Mr. Abell was a graduate of Chester High School and attended Presbyterian College. He was an Army veteran of World War II. A retired farmer, he was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church.
Surviving are his sister, Mary Erwin Milam of Laurens.
The family will receive friends after the service.

Harry Bagby
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Dr. Harry Courtney Bagby died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 1999.
A memorial service was Friday at Elmwood Cemetery.
A native of Chester, Dr. Bagby was a son of the late Edward Booker Bagby and Sarah Stone Bagby. He graduated from Chester City schools and attended Furman University. He graduated in 1949 from the Medical College of South Carolina.
He served his internship at Louisville General Hospital in Kentucky and joined the Air Force. Dr. Bagby trained as a flight surgeon in Selma, Ala., and served in Korea as commanding officer of the 35th Medical Group of the 35th Fighter Interceptor Wing, where he achieved the rank of lieutenant colonel.
After his return from Korea, he practiced medicine for four years in Chester. In 1955, he began an pediatric residence at the Medical College of Alabama in Birmingham and practiced in Jefferson County, Ala., and Shelby County, Ala., until 1990.
Dr. Bagby was an active participant in developing Birmingham's Children's Hospital and served it in various capacities. He was co-founder of the Mayfair Medical Group and a charter member of Shades Valley Rotary Club.
He was a lifelong member of the Baptist Church as served as deacon most of his life. His most recent membership was at The Baptist Church of the Covenant.
Surviving are his wife, the former Laura Sidney Robinson; his son, William S.R. Bagby of Olympia, Wash.; his daughter, Laura Robinson Bagby of Birmingham; two brothers, John Stone Bagby of Berwyn, Pa., and Edward Booker Bagby of Belton.

ROCK HILL - Ms. Everleen Page of 305 Robinson St., died Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999, at home.
The funeral will 2 p.m. Thursday at Nazareth Baptist Church, with the Rev. John T. McCoy officiating and evangelist Sandra McCoy and the Revs. J.H. Bailey and Regina Cherry assisting. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.
A native of York County, Ms. Page was a daughter of Ruth Hoyles Page of Rock Hill and the late Willie T. "Jack" Page Sr.
Surviving in addition to her mother are two brothers, Willie T. Page Jr. and Kenneth Page, both of Rock Hill; five sisters, Ruby Lee Stukes and Jannette Brown, both of New York, Inez Page, Brenda Knox, and Janice Page Ingram, all of Rock Hill.
The body may be viewed from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Robinson Funeral Home.
The body will be placed in the church at noon Thursday.
Edna Rogawski
FORT MILL - Mrs. Edna Walter Smith Rogawski, 82, of 114-A Bozeman St., formerly of Charlotte, died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Grandview Memorial Park, with the Rev. James Kelley officiating.
A native of El Paso, Texas, Mrs. Rogawski was a daughter of the late Tobias H. Walter and Annie Mae Rennie Walter. She was a member of Shopton Road Baptist Church in Charlotte. She was retired from Harris Teeter in Charlotte as a store clerk.
Surviving are her husband, Z. Adam Rogawski; and two grandchildren.
