LANCASTER - Mr. Francis Laird Schwartz Jr., 69, of 2517 Charlotte Highway died Thursday, Oct. 28, 1999, at Springs Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be 4 p.m. today at Taylor's Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. N.J. Neely and Joey McNeil officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of Cramerton, N.C., Mr. Schwartz was a son of the late Francis Laird Schwartz Sr. and Leila Elizabeth Myers Schwartz. He was retired from Springs Industries' Card Room. He was a charter member, deacon and past choir director of Taylor's Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Sybil Funderburk Schwartz; his son, Carl Perry Schwartz of Lancaster; his stepdaughter, Jerra Gainer of Lancaster; five sisters, Virginia Wilson of Woodruff, Catherine Knight and Rita Moree, both of Lancaster, Gearline Totherow of Fort Mill and Hattie Ogle of Boling Springs, Pa.; three grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall after the service.

Sammy Stewart
CLOVER - Mr. Sammy Hope Stewart, 60, of 105 Zion Church Road died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Jerusalem Baptist Church, with the Rev. W.T. Massey and Billy Tate officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A native of York County, Mr. Stewart was a son of Hope Stewart and Carrie Porter. He was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church and Flat Rock Church Aid. Mr. Stewart was formerly employed with Palmetto Cone Company in Clover.
Surviving are his brother, David Stewart of Clover; his special friends, Joe Neal Meeks, Clement Falls and Ernest Cobb, all of Clover; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3 p.m. before the service, and at other times at the home.

John Burns
ROCK HILL - Mr. John Ernest Burns, 71, of 133 Walcott Court, died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 1999, at home.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Foundation AME Zion Church, with the Rev. Leroy McCree officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
A native of York County, Mr. Burns was a member of Foundation AME Zion Church, an Elk and was a member of Sterling Lodge No. 344. He was a graduate of Emmett Scott High School.
Survivors include his daughter, Ruby Rogers of Newark, N.J.; his son, Terrell Franklin of Washington, D.C.; his stepdaughter, Luticia C. McKnight of Charlotte; his brother, James F. Burns of Leominster, Mass.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday at Robinson Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
The body will be taken to the church at noon Tuesday.

Stanley Wylie
ROCK HILL - Mr. Stanley Wylie died Thursday, Oct. 28, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Weeping Mary Baptist Church on Eastview Road, with the Rev. Paul Mosley officiating and the Rev. David Chisolm eulogizing. A public viewing will be from 6 to 7 tonight at Robinson Funeral Home.
Mr. Wylie, a 1975 graduate of Northwestern High School and attended York Technical College, was a son of Henry Wylie Jr. and the late Inez Wylie.
He was a tractor-trailer driver for many years. He was employed with Holland Trucking Co. of Statesville, N.C.
Survivors include his wife, Anita Blake Wylie; four children, Magan Wylie, Nia Wylie and Stanley Blake Wylie of the home, and Sheena Adams of Clearwater, Fla.; four sisters, Delois Johnson of Charlotte, Vernice Macon and Vera Thompson, both of Rock Hill, and Isebella Moore of Lake Wylie; and five brothers, John Henry Wylie, Larry Wylie, Robert Wylie and Robert Moore, all of Rock Hill.
The family will receive friends at the home of Anita Wylie, 2920 Boss Wylie Road.
Burl Bible
LAURENS - Mr. Burl H. Bible, 89, of the Inn at Laurens, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 1999, at the National Health Care of Laurens.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at the Gray Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
A native of Del Rio, Tenn., Mr. Bible was a son of the late Zack Bible and Clara Beatrice Self Bible. He was retired from the Laurens Glass Plant and was a member of the Laurens Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Surviving are five sons, Charles Houston Bible of Port Angeles, Wash., Ed Burnett Bible and Lindsey Bible, both of Fountain Inn, and Robert E. Bible and David Bible, both of Myrtle Beach; three daughters, Barbara Faye Murray of Rock Hill, Judy Campbell of Laurens and Kathy Nelson of Gray Court; two brothers, Allen Bible and Andrew Bible, both of Laurens; his sister, Martha Thompson of Anderson; 25 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the home of Judy Campbell in the Brookwood subdivision off Fleming Mill Road.

MONROE, N.C. -"Mrs. Jessie Mae Brunson Holshouser, 74, of Monroe, N.C., died Sunday, Oct. 31, 1999, at Britthaven of Davidson County in Thomasville, N.C.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Lakeland Memorial Park in Monroe.
A native of Gaston County, N.C., Mrs. Holshouser was a daughter of the late Sam Brunson and Lela Little Brunson. She worked for Celanese for many years.
Mrs. Holshouser was the widow of R.B. "Skinny" Holshouser.
Surviving are her daughter, Carolyn Crook of Thomasville, N.C.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

ROCK HILL -"Mrs. Mary Bennett Kirkland, 72, of 1280 Curtis St. died Sunday, Oct. 31, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center.

A native of Fort Mill, Mrs. Kirkland was a daughter of the late Banks and Leona Whitesides Bennett. She was a homemaker and was a member of Northside Baptist Church, where she loved to travel with the church's Joy Group for senior citizens.
Mrs. Kirkland was the widow of James Douglas "Doug" Kirkland Sr.
Surviving are two sons, James Douglas "Doug" Kirkland Jr. of Rock Hill and David Lee Kirkland of Chester; her daughter, Karen Kirkland of the home; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

KERSHAW -"Mrs. Nell Taylor Lucas, 70, of 149 E. First St., died Sunday, Oct. 31, 1999 at Springs Memorial Hospital in Lancaster.

A native of Kershaw, Mrs. Lucas was a daughter of the late Leavy Taylor and Lula Elizabeth Richardson Taylor. She was a member of Second Baptist Church and was retired from Springs Industries.
Surviving are her husband, Carl Lucas; her son, Mark R. Lucas of Columbia; her daughter, Debbie Rogers of Key West, Fla.; her brother, Billy Taylor of Columbia; her sister Lucille T. Morgan of Kershaw; four grandchildren; and her great-grandchild.

HEATH SPRINGS -"Mr. Thomas Wayne "Meatball" Minors, 60, of 1801 Hoke Road died Saturday, Oct. 30, 1999.

A native of Great Falls, Mr. Minors was a U.S. Navy veteran and was retired from the Great Falls Police Department. He was a member of Mount Dearborn United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Sherry Mote Minors; his son, Timothy Minors of Great Falls; three daughters, Sharon Fowler, Pattie McInvaile and Tammy Self, all of Great Falls; his parents, Lex and Lucille Minors of Great Falls; his brother, David Minors of Great Falls; his sister, Debbie Greenleaf of Great Falls; three stepsons, Keith Hopkins of Santee, and Ricky Hopkins and Jody Hopkins, both of Heath Springs; two stepdaughters, Tammy Allman of Chester and Pansy Murphy of Ridgeway; and 23 grandchildren.

A native of McColl, Mrs. Tucker was a daughter of the late Alton Memory Fowler and Eva Minnie Baxley Fowler. She was a homemaker and was a member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Mrs. Tucker was the widow of Calvin Leroy Tucker.
Surviving are two sons, Buck Tucker and Mitchell Tucker, both of Lancaster; two daughters, Lou Tucker Cauthen of Heath Springs and Kitty Hunter of Lancaster; her brother, Lester Fowler of McColl; two half-sisters, Maxine Pell of Florence and Geraldine Johnson of Savannah, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A native of Heath Springs, Mrs. Collins was a daughter of the late Rasmus Reeves and Amanda Wright Reeves. She was the widow of Albert Sidney Collins. Mrs. Collins was a retired registered nurse at York General Hospital. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Surviving are her son, Everett "Sonny" Collins of Rock Hill; two daughters, Linda Fudge and Ann Hargrove, both of Rock Hill; her brother, Marvin Reeves of Rock Hill; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

BERRYVILLE, Va. - Mr. Clark Williams Cone Sr., 81, of 5937 Lord Fairfax Highway, formerly of Rock Hill, died Friday, Oct. 29, 1999, at home.
The funeral was Sunday at Enders & Shirley Funeral Home, with the Rev. Harold E. Thornton officiating. A Masonic service by Treadwell Masonic Lodge No. 213 also was held Sunday.
A native of Penn Yan, N.Y., Mr. Cone was a son of the late Royal W. Cone and Netta Willowby Cone. He retired after 30 years a composition writer for the Elmira Star Gazette. He served five years as a First Lieutenant in the Army in World War II. Mr. Cone was a master Mason with the Horseheads Lodge No. 364 F&AM of Horseheads, N.Y., for 59 years. He was a member of the Duncan Me-morial United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Men.
Surviving are his wife, Hazel E. Cone; two sons, Clark W. Cone Jr. of Charlotte and Gregory A. Cone of Sugar Grove, N.C.; his daughter, K. Fern Cone of Berryville; his sister, Betty Flasphaler of Elmira, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; and his great-grandchild.
