MARSHVILLE, N.C. - Mr. Paul William Redfearn of Box 254AA N.C. 5 died Thursday, Oct. 21, 1999, at Union Regional Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Flint Ridge Baptist Church, Marshville, with the Rev. Graham Pastor officiating and the Rev. Lewis Blakeney assisting.
Surviving are his two sisters, Odessa Tanner and Ruth Autry, both of Marshville; and his brother, Persell Redfearn of Marshville.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Flint Ridge Baptist Church.

John Sanders
CARLISLE - Mr. John Lewis "Rat" Sanders of 5580 Woods Ferry Road, died Friday, Oct. 22, 1999, at Providence Hospital in Columbia.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Zion Pilgrim Baptist Church in the Wilksburg Community, with the Rev. Curtis Washington officiating and the Revs. George Lowery, Charles Pratt, W.W. Thompson and James Goode assisting. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Sanders was a son of the late Earl Sanders Sr. and the late Kathleen Foote Sanders. He was a member of the Zion Pilgrim Baptist Church. He was on the church's deacon board, usher board, gospel choir and was a member of AP&B society No. 17 and Burning Bush Lodge No. 186. He was employed by Milliken and Co. for 28 years until he became disabled.
Surviving are his wife, Annie Crank Sanders; two daughters, Pamela Sanders of Carlisle and Teresa Sanders Hardin of Chester; six sisters, Classie McNeil, Vanessa Rhyne, Renita Worthy and Lucille Worthy, all of Chester, Miranda Foster of Union and Brenda Worthy of Detroit; four brothers, Hubert Worthy, Terry Worthy, Wayne Worthy and Daryl Worthy, all of Chester.
The family will receive friends at the home at 5580 Woods Ferry Road.
The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 tonight and 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Christopher King's Funeral Home, 703 Old York Road, Chester. The body will be taken to the church at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
Dorothy Sowell
LANCASTER - Mrs. Dorothy Lucas Sowell, 64, of 1635 Winthrop Ave., died Sunday, Oct. 24, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Grace United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Kevin Cooley officiating. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.
A native of Lancaster County, Mrs. Sowell was a daughter of Mary Ida Hardin Lucas and the late Lloyd Lucas and. She was an employee of Springs Industries in the customer-service center and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Ernest "Paul" Sowell; two daughters, Deena Threatt and Tammy Benton, both of Lancaster; her brother, Arthur Lucas; four sisters, Ida Lou Rollins, Marion McNeely, Edith Taylor and Mary Powers, all of Lancaster; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

FORT MILL -Mr. Larry Walter Sweat, 68, of 2345 Murel Lane died Saturday, Oct. 23, 1999, at Iredell Memorial Hospital in Statesville, N.C.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Bratton Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jim Parrish officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
A retired weaver and U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict, Mr. Sweat was a son of the late Walter Sweat and Martha Berry Sweat.
Surviving are his wife, Vera Barrentine; five sons, Michael Sweat and Herman Barrentine, both of Fort Mill, Darrell Barrentine of York, James Barrentine of Charlotte and Glenn Barrentine of Lesslie; his daughter, Joyce Taylor of Mooresville, N.C.; two brothers; Johnnie Sweat of Kannapolis, N.C., and Lacey Sweat of Dillon; five sisters, Louise Windel, Addie May Caulder and Lizzy Caulder, all of Dillon, and Effie Jones and Leila Kemp, both of Kannapolis; and six grandchildren.

Almeter Brantley
CHESTERFIELD - Mrs. Almeter Sellers "Bobbie" Brantley, 77, of Chesterfield died Saturday, Oct. 23, 1999.
The funeral was Monday at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home. Burial was at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery.
A native of Cheraw, Mrs. Brantley was a daughter of the late Harmon Sellers and Fannie Parker Sellers. She was the widow of Clyde Brantley. She was a retired employee of Chesterfield Manufacturing Co. and a member of Hopewell Baptist Church, where she sang in the adult choir for many years.
Surviving are her son, Dean Brantley of Chesterfield; her daughter, Billie B. Sims of Rock Hill; her brother, Frankie Brock of Cheraw; three sisters, Ruby Baker, Edna Timmons and Viola Bruner, all of Cheraw; three grandchildren; and her great-grandchild.

Mary Emanuel
LANCASTER - Mrs. Mary Hough Emanuel, 99, died Monday, Oct. 25, 1999, at White Oak Manor.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lancaster Memorial Park, with the Rev. Dr. Hubert H. Welch officiating.
A native of Lancaster County, Mrs. Emanuel was a daughter of the late Benjamin Clyburn Hough Sr. and Emma Lorena Funderburk Hough. She was the widow of Philip Hamilton Emanuel. A homemaker, Mrs. Emanuel earned her bachelor's degree in music from Chicora College in Columbia. She was a charter member of the Lily Strickland Music Club and Lancaster Garden Club, a member of Daughters of American Revolution, the United Daughters of the Confederacy and several garden and book clubs. She was active in Cub Scouting and was a member of Covenant Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for more than 50 years.
Surviving are three sons, Philip H. Emanuel of Pawleys Island and Emil H. Emanuel and William Y. Emanuel, both of Lancaster; her brother, Francis M. Hough of Lancaster; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

LANCASTER - Mrs. Annie Mae Couch Hinson, 78, of Lancaster Convalescent Center died Saturday, Oct. 23, 1999, at Springs Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Glenwood Heights Baptist Church, with the Rev. N.J. Neely officiating. Burial will be at Rich Hill Baptist Church cemetery.
A native of Lancaster County, Mrs. Hinson was a daughter of the late Grover Cleveland Couch and Emma Lorraine Shehane Couch. She was the widow of Ira Lee Hinson. A homemaker, Mrs. Hinson was a member of Glenwood Heights Baptist Church.
Surviving are four sons, Hoyt Croxton Jr. of Haughton, La., William Hinson of West Columbia, Paul Hinson of Lancaster and Terry Hinson of St. Petersburg, Fla.; four daughters, Nell Gilreath of Durham, N.C., Joanne C. Phillips of Kershaw, Betty Sue Bryant of Midland City, Ala., and Gail Hinson of Lancaster; six brothers, Coleman G. Couch Jr. of Chester, James E. Couch and David Couch, both of Heath Springs, Eugene Couch of Franklin, N.C., Wilber Couch of Lancaster and Bobby Couch of Kershaw; three sisters, Della C. Adams of Rock Hill, Marie C. Phillips of Kershaw and Betty C. Cauthen of Heath Springs; 20 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

TUPELO, Miss. - Mr. Darryl Ricky Pace, 42, died Thursday, July 8, 1999, at North Mississippi Medical Center.
A graveside service was July 14 at Anniston Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Charles Rutherford officiating.
A native of Gainsville, Ga., Mr. Pace was a son of Cora McClellan of Weaver, Ala., and the late U.D. Pace, formerly of Rock Hill. He was a member of West Weaver Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his daughter, Heather Aslinger of Knoxville, Tenn.; and two sons, Shane Pace and Jeremy Pace, both of Jacksonville, Ala.

Samuel Patterson Sr.
FORT MILL - Mr. Samuel Milton Patterson Sr., 65, of 1240 Doby's Bridge Road died Monday, Oct. 25, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John's United Methodist Church in Fort Mill, with the Rev. Dr. Robert Monson and the Revs. Joe Tysinger and Ed Davidson officiating. Burial will be private.
A native of Fort Mill, Mr. Patterson was a son of Mary Harkey Patterson of Fort Mill and the late Henry Lee Patterson. Mr. Patterson was a 1952 graduate of Fort Mill High School and attended Clemson College. He served in the Navy and was retired from Bowater Inc. after 35 years of employment. He was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, where he served as teacher of the Men's Bible Class for many years. He was a member of the Methodist Men's Club, the VIP's and a former choir member.
Surviving in addition to his mother are four sons, Samuel M. Patterson Jr. and Anthony "Tony" Patterson, both of Rock Hill, Cecil Scott Patterson of Lancaster and David S. Patterson of Fort Mill; two brothers, Henry Lee Patterson Jr. of Orlando, Fla., and James H. Patterson of Charlotte; two sisters, Betty P. Ervin and Carolyn P. Rowland, both of Fort Mill; and four grandchildren.

A native of Monroe, N.C., Mrs. Arledge was a daughter of the late Lonnie E. Key and Bessie Mae McCraven Key. She was a homemaker and member of the Church of God faith.
Surviving are her son, John E. Morris of Elgin; two daughters, Debra M. Gaston of Fort Mill and Glenda M. James of Charlotte; three brothers, John E. Kee of San Antonio, Texas, W.R. Kee of Longmont, Colo., and Richard J. Kee of Englewood, Ohio; her sister, Ruth K. Underwood of Rock Hill; eight grandchildren; and her great-grandchild.

A native of Mooresville, N.C., Mrs. Robinson was a daughter of the late Ben Frank Usher Sr. and Minta Parker Usher. She was the widow of Thomas Allen "Buster" Robinson. Mrs. Robinson was a retired employee of the Lancaster Police Department, having worked in the records department. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
Surviving are her son, Thomas W. "Bo" Robinson of Lancaster; her daughter, Tina J. Robinson of Lancaster; her sister, Minta Usher Horton of Lancaster; her brother, Ben Frank Usher Jr. of Lancaster; and her grandchild.

Surviving are her husband, Lee Roy Stevens; her son, Lonnie L. Welch of Chester; her daughter, Karen Denise Welch of Chester; her sister, Barbara C. Wilder of Clearwater, Fla.; and three grandchildren.

A native of Rock Hill, Ms. Sturgis was a daughter of Charles N. "Buck" Walters and Sue Green Walters of Rock Hill. A homemaker, she was a member of Catawba Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to her parents are two sons, Timothy Wayne Henderson and Christopher Matthew Smith, both of the home; her brother, Charles Norman Walters II of Charlotte; and two sisters, Charlene Wallace of Columbia and Cindy Slagle of Rock Hill.

HEATH SPRINGS - Mr. Douglas Relzie Thompson Sr., 57, of 4420 Mount Carmel Road died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 1999, at Springs Memorial Hospital in Lancaster.
The funeral will be at a later date.
A native of Lancaster, Mr. Thompson was a son of the late Joe Relzie Thompson and Maggie Mae Laws Thompson. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Valerie M. Thompson; his son, Douglas R. Thompson Jr. of Heath Springs; his daughter, Julie Thompson of Heath Springs; his half-brother, Thomas Ward of California; his half-sister, Eliese Iwanski of Pennsylvania; and three grandchildren.
