Martha Miller McCullough

Martha Miller McCullough, 93, of J. F. Hawkins Nursing Home, widow of H. Earl McCullough, died Thursday, May 15, 2003.
Mrs. McCullough was born on January 17, 1910, in Newberry County, a daughter of the late J. Sim and Gussie Belle Bedenbaugh Miller. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, the Fifty Plus Group, the George B. Cromer Sunday School Class and Miriam Circle of the W. E. L. C.A.
She was retired from Whitten Center.
Mrs. McCullough is survived by her daughter, Faye M. Jeffcoat of Columbia; two sons, Wayne McCullough of Newberry and Larry McCullough of Columbia; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services for Martha Miller McCullough will be conducted at 11:00 A. M. Monday, May 19 at the Whitaker Funeral Home by the Rev. Steve Counts Interment will be in the Rosemont Cemetery.

Ralph Howard McJunkins

Ralph Howard McJunkins, 58, of 496 Blackberry Lane, Pomaria, died Tuesday, May 13, 2003 at Palmetto Baptist Medical Center.
Mr. McJunkins was born on October 31, 1944, in Newberry County, SC, a son of the late Ralph Thomas McJunkins and Nellie Harris Brown. He was raised by his father and mother, James and Nellie Brown. He was an U. S. Air Force veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. He attended the Freedom Baptist Church.
Mr. McJunkins is survived by his wife, Phyllis Keyes McJunkins of the home; sons, Johnny McJunkins of Newberry and Michael McJunkins of Greenville; a step-daughter, Tina Dunn of Rock Hill; step-sons, Edward Andrews of Lugoff and Andy Andrews of Fresco, CA; sisters, Kathy Brown Cromer of Prosperity and Cynthia Brown Hamm of Irmo; brothers, Leonard Brown and Robert Brown, both of Newberry; and twelve grandchildren.
Memorial services for Ralph Howard McJunkins will be conducted at 2:00 P. M. Sunday, May18 at Whitaker Funeral Home by the Rev. Eddie Bledsoe.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P. M. Thursday at the Whitaker Funeral Home. The family will be at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Hal Cromer, 2117 Candy Kitchen Road, Prosperity.

Richard Bush

Richard Bush, 58, of 2047 Piedmont Street, Newberry, died May 10, 2003 at his residence.
Mr. Bush was born on December 31, 1944 in Prosperity, a son the late of Ransom S. and Ophelia Gray Bush. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnan War and was employed at Maclean Fiberglass Industries.
Mr. Bush was a member of the Amity Masonic Lodge #87, Newberry York Rites Bodies and Hejaz Shrine Temple. He was a member and the President of Newberry County Shrine Club and a member of Beaver Dam Fishing Club.
Mr. Bush is survived by his wife, Toby Stribble Bush of the home; a son, Melvin R. Dominick of the home; a step-daughter, Kandy K. Ringer of Newberry; a son-in-law, Heyward Ringer of Silverstreet; three grandchildren, Timothy C. Ringer and Christopher J. Ringer of Newberry and Heather C. Dominick of Myrtle Beach; a God son, Audi James Myers of Newberry; six sisters, Gladys Wilson of Aiken, Ella Stevens and Mary McJunkins, both of Newberry, Brenda Calvitt and Annie Amick, both of Lexington and Betty Gresham of Union; two brothers, Ransom “Randy’ Bush, Jr. of Silverstreet and John A. “Buddy” Bush of Honea Path; four sisters-in-law, Peggy S. Myers and Betty D. Stribble, both Newberry, Shirley S. Boozer of Prosperity and Bobbie H. Bush of Honea Path; 29 nieces and nephews, a number of great nieces and cousins and a lots of friends. He was predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth Markee, a brother, Curtis R. Bush and a granddaughter, Casey Roxan Dominick.
Funeral services for Richard Bush will be conducted Tuesday at 6:00 P. M. at the Whitaker Funeral Home by the Rev. Walter Byrd. Interment will be in Rosemont Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:30 P. M. Monday at the Whitaker Funeral Home. The family will be at the residence, 2047 Piedmont Street, Newberry.

William G. Dickert, 81, of 1812 Montgomery St., Newberry died Thursday, May 8, 2003, at Palmetto Baptist Medical Center.
Mr. Dickert was born on July 17, 1921, in Newberry, SC, a son of the late Yancy T. and Annie SlighDickert. He was an U.S. Army Air Corp. veteran of WW II and he was a retired employee of General Motors. He was a member of Epting Memorial United Methodist Church, Amity Masonic Lodge #87, and Order of the Eastern Star, Newberry Chapter #226.
Mr. Dickert is survived by his wife Ellen W. Dickert of the home; a daughter, Barbara J. Warner of Wayland MI; a son, William G. Dickert of Los Gatos, CA; three brothers, Dan Dickert and Roland Dickert both of Newberry and Yancy Dickert of Midlands MI; six grandchildren and spouse, Oliver Dickert, David and Corrine Larson, Jamie Duncan, Christopher Larson, Reed Dickert, and Bradley Warner; and 2 great grandchildren, Kirsten and Mark Larson.
Funeral services for William G. Dickert will be conducted at 4:00 P. M. Tuesday at Ebenezer United Methodist Church by the Rev. Rebecca Huguley and the Rev. Tony Rowell.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P. M. Monday at the Whitaker Funeral Home. The family will be at the residence, 1812 Montgomery Street, Newberry.

Ronnie E. Barnes, 51, of 105 Glenn Street, died Tuesday, May 6, 2003 at his residence.
Mr. Barnes was born in Raleigh, NC and retired from Newberry Wrecking and Salvage Company. He was a member of Calvary Holiness Church.
Mr. Barnes is survived by two daughters, Kathy Barnes of Jenkinsville and Angela Nicole Barnes of Newberry; a son, Timmie Barnes of Jenkinsville; a girl friend, Mary Gilbert and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 P. M. Thursday at the Whitaker Funeral Home. Interment will be in Rosemont Cemetery.
Harry W. Shealy, Jr.

Harry W. Shealy, Jr., 74, formerly of Lindsay Circle, Newberry, died Sunday, May 4, 2003 at the J. F. Hawkins Nursing Home.
Mr. Shealy was born on January 12, 1929 in Newberry County, a son of the late Harry W. Shealy, Sr. and Trannie Pitts Shealy. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a retired employee of Champion International Co. and a member of Smyrna Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Shealy is survived by a daughter, Patricia Wallin of Matthews, NC; three step-daughters, Becky Brown of Newberry, Debra Taylor of Prosperity, and Barbara Brown of Clinton; two sons, Tony Shealy of Poplar Bluff, MO and Ken Shealy of Hendersonville, NC; two sisters, Florence Addison and Margaret Lipscomb, both of Newberry; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Betty Smith Shealy and a sister, Virginia Senn.
Funeral services for Harry W. Shealy, Jr., will be conducted at 2:00 P. M. Wednesday at Smyrna Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Scott Hill. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7:00 to 8:30 P. M. Tuesday at the Whitaker Funeral Home. The family will at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Terry Brown, 708 Cypress Lakes Road, Newberry, SC.
