Mattie Williams
LANCASTER - Mrs. Mattie Ghant Williams, 92, of 560 Rock Hill Highway died Saturday, Aug. 21, 1999, at home.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Taylor's Grove Baptist Church, with the Revs. N.J. Neely and Talmedge Parrish officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of Lancaster County, Mrs. Williams was a daughter of the late Mack Randolph Ghant and Mary Ghant. She was a homemaker and the oldest member of Taylor's Grove Baptist Church.
Mrs. Williams was the widow of Heyward M. Williams.
Surviving are three sons, George H. Williams and Olin D. "Tommy" Williams, both of Van Wyck, and James G. Williams of Fort Mill; her daughter, Josephine W. Starnes of Van Wyck; her brother, Grover Ghant of Fort Mill; three sisters, Maggie Varnadore, Pearl Bailes and Drucilla Yarborough, all of Fort Mill; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Forrest DeMont
CHESTER-Mr. Forrest Roland DeMont, 90, of 133 Park Drive died Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999, at Chester County Hospital.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bethel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. John Williams Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Chester Memorial Gardens.
A native of Queens County, Nova Scotia, he was a son of the late William Henry DeMont and Henrietta Anthony DeMont. Mr. DeMont attended Boston University and the University of
South Carolina. He was an auditor with Belk Store Services. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and served in the United States Air Corp. in World War II.
Surviving are his wife,
Georgia Sojourner DeMont of Chester; two sisters, Marie MacQueen of Waltham, Mass., and Mae Fennell of Greenfield, Mass.; and two grandchildren.

Inez Isom
ROCK HILL-Mrs. Inez Sturgis Isom, 73, of Rock Hill died Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church, with Dr. Sollie Hicks officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.
A native of Rock Hill, she was a daughter of the late Theodore Benjamin and Mamie Carter Sturgis. She was the widow of I.G. Isom. Mrs. Isom was a graduate of Rock Hill High School and was a retired customer-service representative from the Rock Hill Telephone Company. She was a member of First Baptist Church, where she was on the tea and empathy group, the senior adult group and the adult 1A Sunday school class She was on the reunion group of the Rock Hill High School class of 1942 and was a member of the Rock Hill Police Retirees Club auxiliary and Olde Pointe Neighborhood Association.
Surviving are her son, Marion "Manny" Isom of Westminster; her daughter, Lynn Isom Bowie of Edgefield; two sisters, Arminta S. Mitchell of Rock Hill and Joyce S. Stell of Lawrenceville, Ga.; and six grandchildren.

Bobby Jackson
CLOVER-Mr. Bobby Dean Jackson, 62, of 210 Calhoun St. died Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999, at Gaston Memorial Hospital in Gastonia, N.C.
The funeral will be 4 p.m. Tuesday at Clover ARP Church, with the Rev. Rob Patrick officiating. Burial will be at Woodside Cemetery.
A native of York County, Mr. Jackson was a son of the late James Boyce Jackson and Lila Nivens Jackson. Mr. Jackson was a retired supervisor from Harrison-Wright Electrical Contractors of Charlotte. He was a member of the Clover Moose Lodge, a shriner and mason in Alpine Lodge 208, Clover and a past member of the Clover Jaycees.
Surviving are two brothers, Leonard Jackson of Lake Murray and Richard Jackson of Rock Hill; two sisters, Jane Sifford of Lake Wylie and Anne Dixon of Clover; and his fiancee, Phylis Parris of Clover.

KINGS MOUNTAIN, N.C.-Mrs. Carolyn Talbert Messer, 61, of 932 Unity Church Road died Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999 at her home.

A native of Gaston County, N.C., Mrs. Messer was a daughter of the late Floyd Gustie Talbert and Mary Lizzie Rohm Talbert. She was the widow of Gerald Dean Messer Sr. Mrs. Messer was a retired seamstress with Taylor's Upholstery. She was a member of Penley's Chapeland.
Surviving are her son, Dean Messer of Kings Mountain; two daughters, Windy Anderson and Lisa Flowers, both of Kings Mountain; two brothers, Gene Talbert of Kings Mountain and James Talbert of Greensboro, N.C.; two sisters, Ruth Taylor of Kings Mountain and Katherine Ross of Ranlo, N.C.; and three grandchildren.

SHELBY, N.C. - Mr. Michael Crawford Boyd, 59, of Kings Mountain, N.C., died Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999, in Shelby.
A graveside service with military rites will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Florence National Cemetery in Florence.
A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Crawford was a son of the late John Crawford Boyd and Thelma Horne Boyd. He retired from the Navy in 1977 at Virginia Beach, Va., where he owned several restaurants. He was a member of the American Legion Frank Roach Post No. 34 in Rock Hill.
Surviving are three daughters, Marie Frend and Melissa Boyd, both of Milford, Mass., and Mitchell Boyd of
Mississippi; two brothers, John M. Boyd and Donald G. Boyd, both of Rock Hill; and his sister, Evie Arant of Kings Mountain, N.C.

A native of Rock Hill, Mrs. Carter was a daughter of the late Benjamin T. Parrish Sr.and Irene Crenshaw Parrish. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Frank Roach Post No. 34, where she worked in the kitchen area. She enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Rock Hill Farmer's Market.
Surviving are her husband, Clyde Carter; her son, Michael A. Carter of Rock Hill; two daughters, Lyn C. Bagwell of Fort Mill and Christine C. Smith of Rock Hill; two brothers, Ben "Uncle June" Parrish Jr. of Rock Hill and Gene Parrish of Clinton; her sister, Frances Fourman of Rock Hill; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Ottilie Haase
CLOVER - Mrs. Ottilie Kuelz Haase, 89, of 504 Stonegate Drive died Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at M.L. Ford Sons Funeral Home, with the Rev. Paul Hutchison officiating. Burial will be at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte.
A native of Zerbst, Germany, Mrs. Haase was a daughter of the late Paul Kuelz and Luise Kuelz. She was the widow of Heinz Hasse. Formerly of Charlotte, she was a member of Clover First United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her son, Wolfgang Haase of Clover; her daughter, Christine H. Halling of Wilmington, Del.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Andward Davis
CHESTER - Mr. Andward "Andy" Davis of 207 Jewel St. died Wednesday, Aug. 18, 1999, at White Oak Manor in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 4 p.m. Wednesday at Purity Baptist Church in Fairfield County, with the Rev. Joseph Stringfellow officiating. Burial will be at New Hope Baptist Church in Fairfield County.
Mr. Davis was son of the late Mattie Coleman and Perry Davis. He worked as an electrician's assistant in the Chester area.
Surviving are his son, Richard Davis of Charlotte; two daughters, Ida Stradford of Vaux, N.J., and Doris Woods of Chester; two brothers, J.P. Davis of Chester and Belton Davis of Charlotte; his sister, Willie Mae Johnson of Chester; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and his great-great-grandchild.
The family will be at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Woods, 207 Jewel St., Chester.
The body may be viewed from noon to 8:30 tonight and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Christopher King's Funeral Home, 703 Old York Road, Chester.
The body will taken to the church at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
Justin Parker
LANCASTER - Mr. Justin Kent Parker, 16, of 695 Taylor Drive died Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999.
The funeral will be 4 p.m. today at Sherwood Baptist Church, with the Rev. Gary Rogers officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.
A native of York County, Justin was a senior at Lancaster High School, where was a member of the marching band for four years. He currently served as a section leader with the band. He was a member of Sherwood Baptist Church, where he was an active youth group member.
Surviving are his parents, David A. and Gwen W. Parker of Lancaster; his brother, Marty Parker of Greer; his maternal grandmother, Evelyn Whetstone of Lancaster; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl B. Parker of Lancaster and Annie Lou Robinson of Hartsville.

A native of Lancaster, Mr. Stogner attended New Testament Baptist Church and was wire operator at Mar-Mac Wire.
Surviving are his parents, Ralph Stogner and Peggy Taylor Stogner of Kershaw; his brother, Kevin Brett Stogner of Kershaw; his paternal grandfather, Lewis Stogner of Lancaster; and his maternal grandmother, Faye M. Taylor of Kershaw.

A native of Rutherfordton, N.C., Mr. Randolph was a son of the late George
Washington Randolph and Mollie McCraw Randolph. He was the widower of Allie Jane Godfrey Randolph. Mr. Randolph was self-employed and was a member of Grassy Pond Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons, George Randolph of Simpsonville and John M. Randolph Sr. of Blacksburg; his daughter, Barbara "Sis" Burkett of Columbia; his brother, Ervin Randolph of Gastonia, N.C.; his sister, Mary Lessie Simmons of Forest City, N.C.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
