Visitation will be Saturday, 7 to 9 p.m. at Norris Funeral Services, Martinsville, Va., and other times at the home of her sister, Christina Moore, 1056 Mockingbird Lane, Bassett, Va.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Norris Funeral Services Chapel with burial to follow at Old Center Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Longs -- Gardner Ward Jr., age 58, died Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004 in Veterans Administration Medical Center, Augusta, Ga.

LONGS -- Virginia M. Wittekind, 89, of Longs, died Friday, Oct. 15, 2004 at her home.

Gussie Mae Cartrette
SUPPLY, N.C. -- Gussie Mae Cartrette, age 83, died Thursday morning, Oct. 7, 2004.
Visitation will be Friday, from 7 til 9 p.m. at Inman Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be Saturday, at 12 p.m. in the Sandy Plain Cemetery, Tabor City, conducted by the Rev. Jimmy Caines. Inman Funeral Home, Inc. is serving the family.
Shera C. Marsh-Chupa
Savannah, Ga. -- Shera C. Marsh-Chupa, 50, died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2004 in Hospice Savannah, Inc.
The Fairfax, S.C. native lived in Columbia for many years before moving to Savannah ten years ago. She was a graduate of Middleton High School in Charleston, and attended Columbia College and Ohio State University. She was past president of the American Business Women's Association and was a former member of the Jaycees in Myrtle Beach, and was employed with the South Carolina Safety Commission. Upon moving to Savannah, she was employed with Candler Hospital for five years in the Nurse Staffing Department and served as Program Director at Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church for three years.
She is survived by husband, David J. Chupa of Savannah; son, Richard Daniel Jones, of Savannah; parents, Charles and Carolyn Kemmerlin Marsh of Myrtle Beach; sister Mickee Marsh Brown, of Marathon, Fla.; brother, Kemmerlin Peeples of Stewart, Fla.; uncles and aunts, Willard and Mary Marsh of Goose Creek, John and Mary Tyndall of Florence, and Marona Fulmer Hudson of Charleston, and nephew, Charles Brown of Marathon, Fla.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 8, in Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel. Memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, in Isle of Hope United Methodist Church with the Rev. Frank Parr and Lowery Brantley officiating. Burial will be private.

Charleston -- James Leroy Hanna, 84, died Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. on Sunday, at the First Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Dr. Ted A. Sherrill. Burial will follow at Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home.

LORIS -- Grady Linsey, age 63, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2004.
Visitation will be Friday, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Leggette-Troy Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Saturday, 2 p.m. in Sweet Gum Baptist Church, with burial to follow in Flag Patch Cemetery. Leggette-Troy Funeral Home is in charge.
Jennings Edward Mills Sr.
MYRTLE BEACH -- Jennings Edward Mills Sr., age 79, of Grace Lane, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004 at Conway Medical Center.
Mr. Mills was born in Conway, a son of the late Arthur Frankie and Gracie Olivia Cannon Mills. He was a member of Pee Dee Freewill Baptist Church and a US Navy Veteran of WWII. Mr. Mills retired from the Navy as a Chief Petty Officer.
Surviving are two sons, Jennings Edward Mills, Jr. of Socastee, and Kenneth Lee "Kenny" Mills of N. Augusta, S.C.; three step-sons, Harvey Lee Roberts of Dallas, TX, Kenneth Ray Roberts of Socastee, and Frankie Joe Roberts of Polkton, N.C.; three sisters, Evelyn Causey, Frances Oliver and Pearl Bullock, all of Socastee; one grandchild and nine step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday from Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel with the Rev. Leroy Larrimore officiating. Burial with full military honors, will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Harry Lee Murph Sr.
LITCHFIELD -- Harry Lee Murph Sr., died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2004 at home at the Lakes of Litchfield.
Born April 12, 1915 in Rowan County, NC, he was a son of the late Daniel and Mary Elizabeth Lentz Murph. He was predeceased by his wife, Ora Lee Shinn Murph; siblings, Helen Bridges, Mildred Cauble, Marvin Murph, Ted Murph and George Murph.
He lived much of his life in Hartsville, SC, later moving to Lake Junaluska, NC and then to the Lakes at Litchfield, in SC where he retired to and lived in his later years. In Hartsville he owned Murph Music Co., was affiliated with Alston Motor Co. and was a licensed pilot with the Hartsville Airport. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Hartsville and St. Pauls Waccamaw United Methodist Church in Pawleys Island. He moved to Greenwood where he was the owner of The Dixon Motel until his retirement.
Survivors include a son, Harry L. Murph, Jr. (Paula L.), of McBee; two daughters, Brenda Logan of Pepper Pike, OH, Daphne Chapman (Curtis A.) Of Canton, Ga.; a sister, Doris McNeely of Greensboro, N.C.; a brother, Robert Murph of Cherry Grove, ; six grandchildren, Harry Lee Murph, III, Megan Murph, Robert Logan, Harriet Logan, Christopher Chapman, and Carrie Ann Wellingham, and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 10 at Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Salisbury, N.C. with Dr. Julian Aldridge of Lake Junaluska, and the Rev. Jeff L. Sifford of Hartsville officiating. Lyerly Funeral Home of Salisbury is in charge of burial arrangements. McMillan-Small Funeral Home of Myrtle Beach handled local arrangements.
