Pinkie Grissett
CONWAY-- Pinkie Mae Hickman Grissett, 66, died Thursday, June 5, 2003, at Conway Medical Center after an illness.
She was born March 24, 1937, a daughter of the late George and Nellie Hickman.
Survivors include 10 children, Agie Mae Vereen, Synetha Ann Livingston, Othel Grissett, Mary Ann Grissett, Otis Key Grissett, Christopher Grissett, Lavern Grissett, Steven Grissett, Rondell Grissett and Cheyndell Vera Grissett; six brothers, James Hickman, Johnnie Hickman, Willie Hickman, David Hickman, Jerry Hickman and James Arby Hickman; four sisters, Chrisseal Rouse, Ora Mae Drayton, Lee Mae Gore and Flora Gause; 14 grandchildren; and an adopted daughter, Wanda Dawson.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Flag Patch Baptist Church. Burial will be in Flag Patch Cemetery.

James D. 'Get Down Doug' Harrill
CHERRY GROVE, N.C. -- James Douglas "Get Down Doug" Harrill, of Duffy Street, died Monday, June 2, 2003.
He was born Nov. 7, 1950, in Rutherford County, N.C., a son of the late Edith Moore Harrill Hammett and James B. Harrill.
He was a 1969 graduate of East High School in Forest City, N.C., and was a graduate of Gardner Webb University. He was a member of the O.D. Shag Club and the O.D. Pavilion Social and Shag Club. He attended The Church of the Lost and Found of North Myrtle Beach. He was co-owner of Changez, Home of Flag City and Get Down Doug's Beach Music and Memorabilia.
Survivors include a son, James Douglas Jr. of Griffin, Ga.; two brothers, Don Harrill and Richard Harrill, both of Rutherford County; a sister, Suzie Harrill Andrews of Rutherford County; and a fiancee, Elizabeth Everheart of Spartanburg.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. June 22 at the O.D. Pavilion in North Myrtle Beach.

Jimmy G. James Sr.
MULLINS -- Jimmy Glenn James Sr., 74, of Grove Court, died Thursday, June 5, 2003, at Marion County Medical Center.
He was born in Galivants Ferry, a son of the late Daniel Oliver and Rena Singleton James.
He was a member of Pisgah United Methodist Church and was a Navy veteran. He retired from DuPont as a supervisor.
He was a loving father, brother, uncle and husband. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Geraldine James; a son, Jimmy Glenn James Jr. and his wife, Alyce, of Mullins; five daughters, Dana Gondell and her husband, Roger, of Overland Park, Kan., Debra Wingard of Columbia, Kim Pappas and her husband, Peter, of Charlotte, N.C., Cindy Harrelson and her husband, Bobby, of Alpharetta, Ga., and Trina Carter of North Myrtle Beach; two brothers, Mack James and his wife, Myra, of Conway and Dan James and his wife, Mary Ann, of Galivants Ferry; a sister, Nora Ann Smith and her husband, Kenyon, of Galivants Ferry; and a sister-in-law, Leitha James of Galivants Ferry; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a sister, Gedelle Sawyer; and a brother, Jack James.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at Pisgah United Methodist Church. The Rev. Will Harper will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in the church cemetery,

MARION -- Stanley King, 63, died Friday June 6, 2003.
Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Jean King; three brothers, Charles, William and Leslie King; and a sister, Pat Hayes.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight at Richardson Funeral Home in Marion.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Marion Church of God.
Amelia Mata Kipp
SURFSIDE BEACH -- Amelia Mata Kipp, 81, of Southbridge, died Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at home.
She was born Sept. 18, 1921, in Puerto Rico, a daughter of the late Dominico H. Kipp and Rafaela Melendez Osasio.
She was the widow of Miguel N. Mata.
She was a homemaker and loved bingo, sewing and cooking.
Survivors include a son, Miguel Mata and his wife, Barbara Jean, of Los Angeles; two daughters, Gloria Dougherty of Surfside Beach and Anna Mata and her husband, Sijo Cintron, of Puerto Rico; nine grandchildren, Darnell, Darren, Willie, Doreen, Mickey, David, Nelly, Luis and Ali; and nine great-grandchildren, Robert, Pamela, Danielle, Ninoshka, Gracelai, Nilmarys, David Jr., Brianna and Rodolfo.
She was predeceased by a brother, William Kipp.
Visitation was Friday at Goldfinch Funeral Home, beach chapel.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Michael's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Leonard Priest
GEORGETOWN -- Leonard Priest, 60, died Wednesday, June 4, 2003.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Brown Priest; six sons, Bernard, Regional, Bryan, Brandon, Lamont and Tywan; a daughter, Regenia; five sisters; two brothers; and 14 grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 4 p.m. today at Greater St. Paul AME Church.

GEORGETOWN -- Philip Lancaster Ray, 81, died Thursday, June 5, 2003.
Survivors include his wife, Lorraine Hanson Ray; two sons; a daughter; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
