LONGS -- Dolores Esther Shaffer, 69, died Sunday, May 25, 2003.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Lee Funeral Home and Crematory of Little River/North Myrtle Beach Chapel. Chaplin Cheryl Adamson will officiate.
Percy D. Snowden
INDIANTOWN -- Percy Dolan Snowden, 88, died Sunday, June 1, 2003, at home.
He was born in Indiantown, a son of the late Clarence Paisley Snowden and the late De Lillian Bartell Snowden.
He was a retired farmer, a member of the Indiantown Presbyterian Church, a church deacon and the former treasurer of the McGill Historical Society. He was a member of the Indiantown Swamp Hunting Club, an avid gardener and outdoorsman. He was a graduate of Indiantown High School.
He was first married to the late Clara Ervin Snowden.
Survivors include his wife, Winnie Tanner Rogers Snowden, of the home; three daughters, Gessner S. Dunn and her husband, J. W. "Bill" Jr., of Blythewood, Omie S. McClary and her husband, Bill, of Darlington and Marianne S. Odom of Pawleys Island; brothers Clarence P. Snowden Jr. of Darlington and Charles H. Snowden of Indiantown; a sister, Joan S. Kennerty of Charleston; stepchildren Nannette Calcutt and her husband, Bo, of Pamplico, Suzanne Harrelson and her husband, Carroll, of Florence and Luke Rogers and his wife, Amy, of Indiantown; grandchildren, J.W. "Bill" Dunn III of Tallahassee, Fla., Susan Dunn McClain of Greenville, Stephen M. Dunn of Carrboro, N.C., Elizabeth McClary Rogers of Florence, Margaret McClary Moss of Savannah, Ga., Jason S. Odom of Atlanta and Dargan S. Odom of Columbia; nine great-grandchildren; one expected great-grandchild; four step-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.
He was predeceased by a sister, De Lillian Snowden Holdings.
The funeral will be at 4 p.m. today at the Indiantown Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Yvonne D. Alford
GEORGETOWN -- Yvonne D. Alford, wife of Heywood Alford, died Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at home.
She was born April 21, 1933, in Georgetown County, a daughter of the late Leroy William Roberts Sr. and Ida Belle Richardson Roberts Wilson.
She was a 1950 graduate of Winyah High School. She was a homemaker, mother and grandmother and had a great capacity of love for all children. She was a member of Prince George, Winyah, Episcopal Church.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two sons, Lt. Col. Eric S. Alford and his wife, Joanna M., of Lexington, and Heywood William Alford of Staten Island, N.Y.; three daughters, Dolores A. Evans and her husband, Jimmy, Sharon A. Fitzpatrick and her husband, Jon, all of Georgetown, and Phyllis A. Tasse and her husband, Rocky, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; six grandchildren, Tara Tasse Mollura, Tripp Tasse, Bianca Springs, Dylan Rogers, Madeleine Alford and Peter Alford; three brothers, Bobby Roberts and Harold Roberts, both of Georgetown, and Ivan Roberts of Conway; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, Leroy W. Roberts Jr.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7 tonight at Graham Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Prince George, Winyah, Episcopal Church. The Rev. Paul C. Fuener will officiate.
Burial will be in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.

Eugene P. Buck Sr.
NORTH MYRTLE BEACH -- Eugene P. Buck Sr., 78, died Friday, May 30, 2003, at home after an illness.
He was born June 3, 1924, in Brooklyn, N.Y., a son of the late John and Helen McCusker Buck.
He was a Navy veteran serving in World War II and was a survivor of the USS Franklin. He retired from AT&T in White Plains, N.Y., after 40 years as an engineer. He sang in the Barber Shop Choir in Danbury, Conn. He moved to South Carolina from Manahawkin, N.J.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia J. Buck; a son, Eugene P. Buck Jr. and his wife, Alicia, of Pennington, N.J.; three daughters, Kathleen Ocean and her husband, Steven, of Washington, Maine, Jacqueline Verano and her husband, James, of Clark Summit, Pa., and Patricia Buck of Myrtle Beach; seven grandsons; seven granddaughters; and a brother, Lawrence Buck of Brooklyn.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. June 27 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church.
