CONWAY -- Sara Thompson Finlayson, 74, of Elm Street, died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at Conway Medical Center after an illness.
She was born in Mullins, a daughter of the late Frank A. and Donna Coleman Thompson.
Survivors include her husband, William B. Finlayson, of Myrtle Beach; two sons, William H. Finlayson of Myrtle Beach and Christopher S. Finlayson of Conway; two brothers, Phillip Thompson and John Thompson, both of Conway; and three grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a sister, Carolyn T. Edwards.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway chapel.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Lakeside Cemetery.
Carl H. Holden
SUPPLY, N.C. -- Carl Hughes Holden, 83, of H&H Road Southwest, died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
Arrangements will be announced by Brunswick Funeral Service and Crematory in Shallotte, N.C.
Vieno L. Jackson
MURRELLS INLET -- Vieno Lehto Jackson, 86, died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at Waccamaw Community Hospital after an illness.
She was born in Marion County, a daughter of the late Victor and Miina Moise Lehto.
Survivors include three daughters, Betty Gordan and Sylvia Wallace, both of Murrells Inlet, and Sophia Bryan of Indialantic, Fla.; a son, Robert E. Johnson of Murrells Inlet; 15 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, Jack W. Johnson.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Goldfinch Funeral Home, beach chapel.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Belin United Methodist Church Cemetery.

George H. Kirschmann
MYRTLE BEACH -- George H. Kirschmann, 88, died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at home.
He was born in Germany. He came to live in
Connecticut with his family in 1925. He moved to Naugatuck, Conn., in 1945, where he was employed by U.S. Rubber for 43 years.
His hobby of painting produced more than 350 paintings, which are owned throughout the United States and abroad. He is represented in the private collection of the Mattuck Museum in Waterbury, Conn., and the M.A.C. Gallery 55 in Meriden, Conn. He was a member of the Watertown Art League, Kent Art Association, Pastel Society of America, Meriden Arts and Crafts and Friends of New Britain Museum in Old Lyme, Conn. He studied at Madison Art School with Robert Brackman and at the University of
Connecticut during evening classes with Emile Grieppe of Rockport, Mass., and Ivan Olinski.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Hobson Kirschmann; a son, George Kirschmann and his wife, Kathryn, of Durham, N.C.; a grandson, John Paul Kirschmann of Durham; two cousins, Rolf Huth and Leni Wayand of Ida-Oberstein, Germany; and many nieces and nephews.
Inurnment will be at a later date in Meriden with family present.
Memorials may be made to the M.A.C. Gallery, 55 Colony St., Meriden, CT 06451, home of many of his paintings in their permanent collection.

MYRTLE BEACH -- Harry Johnson McGrew, 90, husband of Edna T. McGrew, of Arcadian Shores, died Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, at home.

Tyne P. Pulley
CALABASH, N.C. -- Tyne Pugh Pulley, 69, of Bogie Lane Southwest, died Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, at home.
She was born Oct. 28, 1933, in Altavista, Va., a daughter of the late Claude S. and Clara Reedy Pugh. She was a secretary for the Maryland Division of Motor Vehicles.
Survivors include her husband, Marvin F. Pulley; two sons, Daniel O. Pulley and his wife, Rebecca, of Pasadena, Md., and Michael T. Pulley and his wife, Dena, of Jacksonville, Fla.; a daughter, Susan Geldmacher and her husband, Scott, of Pasadena; a brother, Howard O. Pugh of Pointbank,
Texas; three sisters, Gwendolyn Forlines of Greensboro, N.C., Zipporah Walton of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Clarice Brodie of Thomaston, Ga.; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Brunswick Funeral Service and Crematory in Shallotte, N.C.

Pressley E. Shaw
GEORGETOWN -- Pressley Eugene Shaw, 83, died Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
He was born Feb. 26, 1919, in Georgetown, a son of the late John Lewis Shaw and Annie Smith Shaw.
He grew up in Georgetown and lived all his life there. He was a former member of the Naval Reserve and served in the Navy during World War II. He retired in 1982 as desk sergeant for the Georgetown Police Department.
He was a member of Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Navy Club of Georgetown, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 6444 and Disabled American Veterans Chapter No. 30.
Survivors include his wife, Wadene "Penny" Plummer Shaw; a son, John E. Shaw and his wife, Thomasina, of Georgetown; a daughter, Susan S. Perritt of Georgetown; a sister, Mary S. Butler of Montgomery, Ala.; two grandchildren, Tina Shaw Millan and Gideon Michael Perritt, both of Georgetown; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Mayer Funeral Home, Georgetown chapel.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Elmwood Cemetery Annex. The Rev. Phillip C. Thrailkill will officiate.
