Nancy Shelley
CONWAY -- Nancy Isabelle Richardson Shelley, 67, widow of Windel M. Shelley, of Lakeside Drive, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, at Conway Hospital after an illness.
She was born in Aynor, a daughter of the late Cord and Isabelle Dix Richardson. She was a member of Langston Baptist Church. She served in the magistrate's office in Conway for 31 years, where she retired as the first female magistrate in
South Carolina.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Brett C. Shelley; a grandson, Stephen Kendall Shelley; two brothers, Clayton Richardson and C.P. Richardson; and a sister, Lucille James.
Survivors include four sons, Michael Lewis of Denton,
Texas, Manning Shelley, Barry Lewis and Windel Shelley II, all of Conway; three daughters, Vanessa L. Pearson of Wilmington, N.C., Suzanne Bramble and Karen Barnes, both of Callao, Va.; nine grandchildren, Nancy Victoria Lewis, Catherine Lewis Morris, Kendra Denise Lewis, Jennifer Lynn Lewis, Jennifer Shelley, Kenneth Shelley, Shelley Bramble, James Barnes and Elizabeth Bramble; a great-grandchild, Hunter Huey Morris, who is due in June; two sisters, Doris Jenkins of Aiken and Marchetta Sellers of Conway; and a very special pet, Lady.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway chapel.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Langston Baptist Church. Dr. Randall Jones will officiate. Entombment will be in Hillcrest Mausoleum.
William M. Strickland
CONWAY -- William M. Strickland, 74, of the Savannah Bluff community, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003 at home.
He was born July 30, 1928, in Rocky Mount, N.C., a son of the late Elmer and Kathryn Brickhouse Strickland.
He was a Marine veteran and was retired from AVX.
Survivors include his wife, Ella P. "Pat" Strickland, of Conway; a brother; and a sister.
Funeral services and burial will be private.

Lucian D. 'L.D.' Willard
NORTH MYRTLE BEACH -- Lucian Dubert "L.D." Willard, 87, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, at Myrtle Beach Manor.
He was born April 11, 1915, in Horry County, a son of the late Lucian and Ora Causey Willard.
He was a member of Wampee United Methodist Church and Woodmen of the World.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Ella Pearle Todd Willard; a son, Dale Willard of Collinsville, Miss.; two daughters, Rebecca Scott of North Myrtle Beach and Wendy Finley of Easley; three brothers, Hope Willard, Yvonne Willard and Starlin Willard, all of North Myrtle Beach; seven sisters, Elberta "Bert" Inman of Little River, Katie Moore of Andrews, Mary Charles Mallory of North Myrtle Beach, Fronnie Hucks of Myrtle Beach, Lydia Clardy of Myrtle Beach, Billie Johnson of Fayetteville, N.C., and Jackie Chandler of Chicago; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two sons, Wylie Willard and Barry Willard; two brothers, Paul Willard and Walter Willard; and two sisters, Claudine Sessoms and Elva Suggs.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Lee Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. The Rev. Danny Chamblee will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Creek Cemetery in Little River.

MYRTLE BEACH -- Sylvia Young, 93, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, at Grand Strand Medical Center after an illness.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at Sandy Grove Baptist Church. Burial will be in Pine Island Memorial Cemetery in the Pine Island community of Myrtle Beach.

Elmer Addison
GARDEN CITY BEACH -- Elmer Addison, 85, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003, at Waccamaw Community Hospital after an illness.
He was born Dec. 2, 1917, in Hiram,
Ohio, a son of the late James M. and Rose Nemish Addison.
He retired from J. Disch Co. in Cleveland after 44 years of service. He moved to the Myrtle Beach area in 1992.
He had been a Jehovah's Witness for 50 years.
Survivors include his wife, Louise; a daughter, Deborah Maddolin of Garden City Beach; three grandsons, Matthew Helfrich of Seattle, Jeremy Helfrich of Bozeman, Mont., and Nathaniel Helfrich of Gualala,
Calif.; and two granddaughters, Corissa Helfrich Floyd and her husband, Isaac, of Bedford, Ind., and Jennifer Helfrich of Bedford; and his cherished pet, Kitty-Kitty.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Lynn.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A memorial service will be at 5 p.m. Sunday at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 3024 Holmestown Rd., Myrtle Beach, SC 29576.
