Rhoda B. Ammons
MULLINS -- Rhoda Belle Ammons, 84, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003, at Marion County Medical Center after an illness.
She was born April 22, 1918, in Dillon County, a daughter of the late Gus and Rosa Belle McRae Ammons.
She had retired from AVM and was a member of Macedonia United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a nephew, Sammy Ammons of Marion; a niece, Betty Jean Ammons of Mullins; two great-nieces, Debra Ammons of Mullins and April Todd of Mullins; and a great-great-niece, Dubree Ammons.
A graveside service was Monday in Cedardale Cemetery. The Rev. Scott Collins officiated.

John H. Batton Sr.
LAKE VIEW -- John Henry Batton, 65, died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2003, at Marion County Medical Center after an illness.
He was born in Wayne County, N.C., a son of the late Thurmon Odell and Erdine Wood Batton.
He was the widower of Elizabeth Batton.
Survivors include five sons, Vernie Batton of Lake View, John H. Batton Jr. of Myrtle Beach, John Wayne Batton of Wilmington, N.C., Roger Poesy of Conway and Robert Lowry of Washington, D.C.; three daughters, Wanda Batton and Stella Jean Batton, both of Summerville, and Tara Batton of Florida; two sisters, Francis Alene Robbins of Mullins and Alice Faye Hill of Eastspencer, N.C.; and 10 grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight at Cook Funeral Home in Lake View.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Lake View Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
Mary Bellamy
MYRTLE BEACH -- Mary Bellamy, 72, wife of John Bellamy of Briarcliffe Acres, died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2003, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.
Arrangements will be announced by McMillan-Small Funeral Home in Myrtle Beach.
Faye Cary
PENSACOLA, Fla. -- Faye Cary, 66, formerly of Bayboro and the wife of James Cary, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola.
She was born in the Bayboro section of Horry County, a daughter of the late Hamon Emory and Leila Tyler Johnson.
She lived in Pensacola since 1977. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and was a good friend to all. She will be dearly missed.
She was a member of the Women's Bowling Association and the Corry Field Bridge Club and was an avid bowler and card player.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, Zack Parrish and his wife, Yvonne, of Camden; two daughters, Laura Higa and her husband, Calvin, of Hilo, Hawaii, and Mary Ellen Holland of Biloxi, Miss.; a sister, Lucille Whitehead of Spartanburg; six grandchildren, Antoinette, Maya, C.J., Paul, Zachery and Heather; three great-grandchildren, Brianna, Makayla and Alexis; four stepdaughters, Rene Russell of Charleston, Jane Chappell and her husband, Alan, of Pensacola, Kim Kelly and her husband, Andy, of Weaverville, N.C., and Barbara Ann Ham and her husband, Marty, of Hawaii; two stepsons, Jerry Mock and his wife, Anise, and Ed Mock, all of Pensacola; and several cousins, nephews, nieces and dear friends who were all very special to her.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway chapel.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Cool Springs Southern Methodist Church. The Rev. Danny McLellan and the Rev. Larry Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

GEORGETOWN -- Barbara Elizabeth Cribb Forbes, 56, died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2003, at home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Mayer Funeral Home, Georgetown chapel.

Robert 'Boot' Gagum
CONWAY -- Robert "Boot" Gagum, 55, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.
He was a son of Maebell Johnson Gagum Weathers of Conway and the late Robert Gagum Sr.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include four sisters, Adeline Holmes and her husband, John, Rudell Gagum, Emma Hill and Agatha Smith and her husband, Sam; two additional brothers-in-law; an aunt, Elizabeth Johnson; seven nieces and seven nephews; and several other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by twin brothers Odell and Wendell Gagum.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Terry Booth will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.

GEORGETOWN -- Lounell Reddick Graham, 45, of the Plantersville community, died Monday, Jan. 13, 2003, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
