MYRTLE BEACH — Steven Howard Seals, 37, of Darby Lane, died Monday, July 1, 2002, at Conway Hospital.
He was born in Olney, Md., a son of Barbara Jo Easton Seals and the late George Taylor Seals.
He was a member of Cove Church in North Myrtle Beach.
He was a graduate of the S.C. Criminal Justice Academy and was a Deputy with the Horry County Sheriff's Office.
Survivors, in addition to his mother of Baltimore, include his wife, Janelle Seals of Myrtle Beach; a daughter, Rachel Seals of Myrtle Beach; a son, Kyle Seals of Myrtle Beach; a brother, Bruce Seals of Baltimore; and two sisters, Susan Seals and Donna Gonzalez, both of Baltimore; and his maternal grandmother, Venus Easton of Cantonsville, Md.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway chapel.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Pastor Lee Swengel will officiate. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.

David E. Whittington
LEXINGTON, N.C. — David Earl Whittington, 40, died Saturday, June 29, 2002, at High Point Regional Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 22, 1961, in Loris, a son of Waldo and Hazel Fowler Whittington.
He was a retired Marine Corps sergeant and a former employee of BTI Telecommunication Services.
Survivors, in addition to his parents of Green Sea, include his wife, Michele McGrath Whittington; a son, Damien Monaghan of the home; and a sister, Laura Vera of High Point, N.C.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington, and at other times at the home.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady Of The Rosary Catholic Church. The Rev. Al Gondek and the Rev. Joseph Kelleher will officiate. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Friday in National Cemetery, Salisbury, N.C.

Harold Yoder
CONWAY — Harold Yoder, 88, of Kates Bay Highway, died Monday, July 1, 2002, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Pipersville, Pa., a son of the late Walter and Estella Beer Yoder. He was the husband of the late Jeanette Jarrett Yoder.
He was a member of Kingston Presbyterian Church and the Conway Lions Club. He was a former resident of Pipersville and was a charter member of the Plumstead Lions Club. He was former owner and operator of Yoder Electric Service in Pipersville and was a member of the Plumstead Grange No. 1738. He was a volunteer with Conway Hospital for more than 20 years.
Survivors include a sister, Peg Fillman of Pipersville, Pa.; a sister-in-law, Edith Jarrett of Bud Lake, N.J.; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at Hillcrest Mausoleum.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the mausoleum. The Rev. Don Stiens will officiate.

James A. Altman
MULLINS — James Allyson Altman, 41, died Thursday, July 4, 2002, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
He was born March 25, 1961, in Jacksonville, N.C., a son of Pauline Jackson Altman of Mullins and the late Willie Zack Altman.
He was a heavy equipment operator and a member of Mullins-Marion Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his children, Heather Altman, Zack Altman and Cody Sudd Altman, all of Nichols; his children's mother, Karen Altman of Nichols; two brothers, Billy Sudd Altman and his wife, Julie, of Monticello, Ga., and Richard Leon Altman and his wife, Linda, of Bonneau; two sisters, Sherrie Altman Hinson and her husband, Ernie, of Mullins and Kathy Altman Wallace and her husband, Robert, of Mullins; a nephew, Justin Brandon Altman; eight nieces, Alicia Wallace Campbell, Christy Hinson Baker, Hollie Beth Hinson, Lauryn Nichole Wallace, Sallie Suzanne Hinson, Dana Delaine Altman, Christen Hillary Altman and Kristal Danielle Altman; and two great-nieces, Audrey and Madison Campbell.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at Cox-Collins Funeral Home in Mullins.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The Rev. William C. Jacobs and the Rev. George Gainey will officiate. Burial will be in Devotion Gardens Cemetery.

CONWAY — John Bondal Altman, 63, husband of Kay Shaw Altman, died Friday, July 5, 2002, at Loris Community Hospital.

Courtney P. Dorshimer Sr.
LITTLE RIVER — Courtney Paul Dorshimer Sr., 78, died Wednesday, July 3, 2002, at Seacoast Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 16, 1924, in Collingswood, N.J., a son of the late Peter Courtney and Ethel Wildrick Dorshimer.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Hiles Dorshimer; two sons, Courtney P. Dorshimer Jr. of Woodbury, N.C., and Duane Dorshimer of Raleigh, N.C.; a daughter, Donna Midili of Wenonah, N.J.; two brothers, Gladden Dorshimer of
Oregon and John Dorshimer of
Pennsylvania; a sister, Helen Krise of Westmont, N.J.; and three grandchildren, Michelle, Robert and Grant.
He was a World War II Army Air Force Veteran and owned and operated Court's Sunoco and Muffler Service in Woodbury, N.J., for 32 years. After moving to Little River, he became a member of the Cypress Bay Men's Gold Association.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday at Lee Funeral Home & Crematory in Little River.
