Deloris Cunningham
CONWAY — Deloris I. Prunty Cunningham, 68, of Kingswood, died Monday, July 1, 2002, at Conway Hospital.
She was born Dec. 18, 1933, in Bridgeport, W.Va., a daughter of the late Leonard and Sadie Prunty.
She came to Conway from Clarksburg, W.Va., in 1979 and was an Air Force veteran.
Survivors include her husband, David D. Cunningham; two daughters, Dawn M. Beard of Conway and Danita W. Garrett of Austin, Texas; two sisters, Wanda Scranage of Grafton, W.Va., and June Hardy of Mesquite, Nev.; and five grandchildren, Elizabeth Riggleman, Brian Garrett, Joshua Garrett, Melissa Garrett and Cyrus Beard III.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday at McMillan-Small Funeral Home, Myrtle Beach.
Inurnment and a graveside service will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Southeastern Memorial Gardens, North Myrtle Beach. The Rev. Kirk Lawton will officiate.

Dorothy Ellerbe
PAWLEYS ISLAND — Dorothy Lee McDaniel Ellerbe, 81, formerly of Florence, died Tuesday, July 2, 2002, at Medical University of South Carolina Hospital, Charleston.
She was born Jan. 1, 1921, in Anderson, a daughter of the late Claude Terrell and Charity Wellborn McDaniel. She was the widow of Thomas Lucian "Luke" Ellerbe.
She grew up in Anderson and attended Bowling Green Business College in Bowling Green, Ky. She and her husband operated Tavern Inn in Pawleys Island for 32 years until 1980. She was a communicant of All Saints Church, Waccamaw.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas D. Ellerbe of Conway and David L. Ellerbe of Pawleys Island; two daughters, Martha E. Portney of North Augusta and Saress E. Smith of San Juan, Puerto Rico; two sisters, Frances Maxwell of Jacksonville, Fla., and Martha Perry of Wilmington, N.C.; 17 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Mayer Funeral Home, Georgetown chapel.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at All Saints Church, Waccamaw. Burial will be in All Saints Church, Waccamaw, churchyard.

James Ellis
LITTLE RIVER — James Ellis, 84, of Ellis Avenue, died Monday, July 1, 2002, at home after an illness.
He was born in Little River, a son of the late James William and Annie Suggs Ellis. He was the widower of Florence Herman Ellis.
He was a member of Little River United Methodist Church and was a Navy Veteran of World War II. He retired as a deputy with the Horry County Sheriff's department.
Survivors include two sons, Jimmy Ellis and his wife, Jaye Lynn, of Florence and Dale Ellis and his wife, Scarlet, of Conway; two sisters, Georgia Ellis and Bernice Howard, both of Little River; three grandchildren, Priscilla Ellis Magsig, Nicholas Ellis and Nathan Ellis; three great-grandchildren; and special friends, Jim and Rosa Stadick of Little River.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. today at Little River United Methodist Church.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at the church. The Rev. Scarlett Tanner will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. — Leonard Whitfield Evans, 80, died Monday, July 1, 2002.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol E. McKissick and Patricia Carpenter; a son, Richard W. "Skip" Evans; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Whitley's Funeral Home, Kannapolis.

James A. Green
BUCKSPORT — James Arness Green, 40, of Ole Magnolia Lane, died Thursday, June 27, 2002, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.
He was a son of William and Frances Green.
He attended Horry County public schools. He was a brick mason and landscaper.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include three sisters, Brenda Avant and her husband, Glenn, of Montgomery, Ala., Julia Brantley and her husband, Harleem, and Nicole Green, both of Bucksport; five brothers, Willie Green Jr. and Leon Green and his wife, Rosetta, both of Myrtle Beach, Jerome Green, Tracey Green and his wife, Carolina, and Stacey Green, all of Bucksport; and a special friend, Angela Williams of Myrtle Beach.
The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Mount Mariah Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Willie J. Hucks
CONWAY — Willie Junior Hucks, 71, died Tuesday, July 2, 2002, at Kingston Nursing Center.
He was born in Conway, a son of the late Willie Lamar "Cox" and Carrie Bell Hyman Hucks.
He was a member of Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church and was an Army veteran. Prior to retirement, he worked for Aberdeen Manufacturing for more than 20 years.
Survivors include his wife, Lavinia L. Hucks of Conway; a son, Ernest Junior Hucks of Little River; a daughter, Glenda Lee Hucks Stanley of Conway; two brothers, Bobby Hucks and Jimmy Hucks, both of Charleston; four sisters, Geraldine Rozier and Sylvia Jo Prosser, both of Charleston, Betty Jones and Lila Mae Harrelson, both of Kingstree; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Thursday at the church.
The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church. The Rev. Roger Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
