Houston Altman
MULLINS — Houston Altman, 87, died Saturday, April 6, 2002, at Sunny Acres Nursing Center.
He was a son of the late James Spurgeon and Frances Brown Altman.
He was a member of Mullins First Baptist Church, Anglers Sunday School class, Senior Saints Choir, VFW Post No. 122, American Legion Post No. 89, and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Avis Kathleen Martin, and an infant son.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Gasque Altman; a son, William James "W.J." Altman and his wife, Jeanette, of Dillon; a daughter, Dianne Altman of Mullins; a sister, Sarah Sanders of Augusta, Ga.; two grandchildren, Janet Altman Paschal and her husband, Everette, of Latta and Tracy Altman Anderson and her husband, Terry, of Rowland, N.C.; three great-grandchildren, Brooke Danielle Paschal and Sarah Dawn Paschal of Latta, Connor Elliott Anderson of Rowland.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight at Meares Funeral Home in Mullins.
The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Monday at Mullins First Baptist Church. The Rev. Dr. Lewis McCormick and the Rev. Jim Kirkland will officiate. Burial will be in Devotion Gardens Cemetery.

Eleanor L. Boodro
MYRTLE BEACH — Eleanor L. Boodro, of Bermuda Way North, died peacefully Thursday, April 4, 2002, at home.
She was born Sept. 10, 1919, in Hull, Mass., Eleanor Louise Stonely, a daughter of the late John H. and Helena G. Stonely.
She graduated from Hingham High School and lived many years in Hingham, Mass.,
New Hampshire,
New Jersey and
Florida, before moving to Myrtle Beach 12 years ago.
Survivors include her husband, Frank M. Boodro; a daughter, Deborah A. Boodro; a son, Bryan Boodro; a daughter-in-law, Peggy S. Boodro, all of Myrtle Beach; and three sisters, Virginia Thorburn of Hull, Dorothea Cicchese of Weymouth, Mass., and Barbara Hanian of East Weymouth, Mass.
She was predeceased by her loving daughter, Linda A. Boodro.
The funeral will be private.

CARY, N.C. — Karin Manley Craven, 37, died Thursday, March 28, 2002.
Survivors include her husband, Michael Thomas Craven; three sons, Christian Eric Craven, Michael Thomas Craven II, and Patrick Alexander Craven; her parents, Heidi and Kent Manley of Birmingham, Ala.; her brothers, Trexel and Cullen Manley.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michael Catholic Church, 804 High House Road, Cary, N.C.

PAMPLICO — W. Hubert Cooper, 81, died Friday, April 5, 2002.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Ard Cooper; two sons, John Cooper and Eddie Cooper; three daughters, Jackie Cooper, Karen Thompson, and Kathy Haselden; six grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a brothers; and two sisters.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at New Prospect Free Will Baptist Church.

Maude P. Dewitt
LORIS — Maude P. Dewitt, 78, of Church Street, died Friday, April 5, 2002, at home.
She was the wife of Thomas Dewitt.
Survivors include sisters, Thelma Page, Alma Page and Hattie Gordon; and brothers, Henise Page and Alfred Page.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Mount Rona Missionary Baptist Church in Loris. The Rev. Dr. A.B. Nichols will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Rona Cemetery in Loris.

LITTLE RIVER — Nancy J. Knudsen, 69, formerly of Hicksville, Long Island,
N.Y., died Monday, March 25, 2002, at Loris Community Hospital.
She was born Nov. 18, 1932, in Astoria,
N.Y., a daughter of the late Joseph Batty and Frances Mulligan Batty.
Survivors include her husband, David C. Knudsen of Little River; a son, Lance Swedberg of
Washington; a daughter, Lisa Skortz of Bellville, Ill.; a brother, Joseph Batty of
New York; 16 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lee Funeral Home in Little River. Dr. Harold Mitchell will officiate.
Visitation will follow the service.
Wilhelmena M. Lance
MOUNT PLEASANT — Wilhelmena M. Lance, 81, died Wednesday, April 3, 2002.
Survivors include her children, Charles, Jack, William, James, Theopia, Pearlina, Evelyn, Dora, Shawna and Cynthia; and 31 grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at McKnight-Fraser Funeral Home in Georgetown.
