Jessie K. Lynam
GEORGETOWN — Jessie K. Lynam, 91, died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2002, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include one son, Martin Lynam; two daughters, Evelyn Lynam and Eileen Janicki; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Arrangements will be announced by R.D. Copeland Funeral Home, Coraopolis, Pa.
Graham Funeral Home of Georgetown is in charge of local arrangements.
Anthony B. Meany
SURFSIDE BEACH — Anthony B. Meany, 76, died Friday, Oct. 11, 2002. He was the husband of Janet Anderson Meany.
He was born Aug. 11, 1926, in
New York City, a son of the late Anthony and Mary Meany.
He retired in 1985 after a 31-year career as a CIA officer. He also served as a Secret Service agent and was on the White House detail during the Eisenhower and Truman administrations.
He served in the Navy in the Pacific during World War II and was a 36-year member of the American Legion.
He was predeceased by his first wife and mother of his four children, Ruth Meany of St. Louis; and his brother, James Meany of Orangeburg,
N.Y.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sons, James and his wife, Charlotte, of Des Peres, Mo., Bill and his wife, Sue, of Myrtle Beach, and Bob and his wife, Laura, of Warren, Vt.; a daughter, Beth Ryberg and her husband, Steve, of Tulsa, Okla.; grandchildren Elizabeth and Patrick of Des Peres, Keith and Vicki of Myrtle Beach, Patrick and Megan of Warren, and Anna, Allison and Katherine Ryberg, of Tulsa; and a stepson, David Courte of St. Louis.
The funeral will be Thursday at St. Monica's Catholic Church in Creve Coeur, Mo. The burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis. A memorial service at St. Andrew Catholic Church of Myrtle Beach will be announced at a later date.
Bobby Wayne Smith
AYNOR — Bobby Wayne Smith, 48, of S.C. 319, died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002.
He was born in Horry County, a son of the late Allen Bruce and Allene Brown Smith.
He was predeceased by a brother, Winford Young.
Survivors include his wife, Sally Smith of Aynor; a son, Benjamin Smith of Aynor; a daughter, Tina Smith of Aynor; one stepdaughter, Shayla Cook of Aynor; a stepson, Eddie Byrd of Conway; four brothers, Tilmond Smith of
Florida, Ernest Smith, Billy Smith and Ronnie Smith, all of Aynor; six sisters, Mildred Martin, Phyllis Hucks and Thelma Johnson, all of Aynor, Betty Harden of Myrtle Beach, Margaret Goff of Conway, and Cheryl Martin of Columbia; and 10 stepgrandchildren.
No services are planned.

Woodrow V. Atkins
SURFSIDE BEACH — Woodrow Virgil "Woody" Atkins, 76, of Sixth Avenue South, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.
He was born May 24, 1925, in Fred, W.Va., a son of the late Alfred and Artie Mae Massey Atkins.
He was a retired coal miner. He was a Navy veteran and served in World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Lou Atkins; a daughter, Sandra Garretson of Seth, W.Va.; three sons, Randy Atkins of Nitro, W.Va., Kenneth Atkins of Socastee and Mark Atkins of Surfside Beach; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and two brothers, Ishum Atkins of Seth and Harry Atkins of Cross Lanes, W.Va.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel.
A graveside service will be Saturday at Pine View Cemetery in Boone County, W.Va.
Leonard Johnson Funeral Home in Marmet, W.Va., is in charge of out-of-town arrangements.

Arnold J. Dorris
MYRTLE BEACH — Arnold Jackson Dorris, 82, of Ramsey Acres, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at Conway Hospital.
He was born Nov. 21, 1919, in Whitehouse, Tenn., a son of the late Jesse Lee and Nancy Othella Sanders Dorris.
He was a retired staff sergeant in the Air Force and served in Japan during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn R. Dorris; a son, Jerry Dean Dorris of Conway; five daughters, Patricia Ann Morris of Manila, Ark., Barbara J. Cooper, Shirley Ruth Bischoff and Vicki Lynne Skinner, all of Myrtle Beach; and Brenda Gail Spear of Georgetown; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and three sisters of Madison, Tenn.
Visitation will be will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ocean Woods Cemetery.
Gary L. Fite
MYRTLE BEACH — Gary Lynn Fite, 47, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2002.
He was born in Columbia, a son of Arthur W. Fite Jr. and the late Juanita Flemming Fite.
He was the owner of American Biker, Myrtle Beach, and a was a member of Carolina Forest Community Church.
Survivors, in addition to his father of Prosperity, include his wife, Sandra Nelson Fite; a son, Trent N. Ervin of Myrtle Beach; a daughter, Melissa Fite; a sister, Mary Anne Armstrong of Lexington; and three brothers, Frank Fite of Rio Rico, Ariz., Charles Fite of Myrtle Beach and Arthur "Rocky" Fite III of Camden.
A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Carolina Forest Community Church.
