GEORGETOWN — David Brown, 66, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian; four sons, David Jr., Alvin, Curtis and Ronald; three daughters, Delores, Tammy and Dora; and a sister, Cynthia.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Nazareth AME Church.

Mary Conrad
KINGSTON, Pa. — Mary Ann Sura Conrad, 83, formerly of Jensens Village, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002, at Manor Care Health in Kingston, Pa.
She was born Feb. 15, 1919, in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., a daughter of the late John Sura and Bridget Drewicz Cusick.
She was a retired LPN and a homemaker. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church where she had been a member of the Michaeleens. She was predeceased by her husband, William C. Conrad, in 1999.
Survivors include nieces and nephews, John Conrad of Mountain Top, Pa., Mary Frances Conrad of Long Island, N.Y., John Erickson of Phoenix, Ark., William Erickson of California, Fred Zoellar of Denver and Mary Lou Cook of Ashley, Pa.; and a sister-in-law, Mary Conrad of Leisure World, Ark.
A memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michael's Catholic Church.

CONWAY — Effie Onley Dewitt, 65, died Friday, Oct. 11, 2002, at home after an illness.
Arrangements will be announced by Latimer's Funeral Home in Conway.
Thomas M. Hardee
LORIS — Thomas Mayberry Hardee, 61, of the Cherry Hill community, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002, at home.
He was born July 1, 1941, in Loris, a son of the late Jackson Woodrow Hardee and Veola Elizabeth Hardee. He was the husband of Patricia Ann "Pat" Todd Hardee of Loris.
He was a retired master electrician, a member of Loris Masonic Lodge No. 205 and a member of the Cherry Hill Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Larry Thomas Hardee of Myrtle Beach; a daughter, Diane Hardee Horonzy Yager of Asheboro, N.C.; three brothers, Elbert W. Hardee and his wife, Clara Bell, Garland L. Hardee and his wife, Saundra, and Billy G. Hardee and his wife, Lois, all of Loris; a sister, Louise H. Fowler and her husband, Elvin, of Hanahan; three grandsons, Marsden Horonzy, Jereth Horonzy and Madison Yager, all of Asheboro.
He was predeceased by a brother, Wendell Hardee.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Hardwick Funeral Home in Loris.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Cherry Hill Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Matthew Jones, the Rev. Pete Debrul and the Rev. David Watts will officiate. Burial, with full masonic rites, will be in the church cemetery.

HICKMAN'S CROSSROADS, N.C. — The Rev. Jerome Jenrette, 87, Ash/Little River Road N.W., died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002, at home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Brunswick Funeral Service & Crematory in Shallotte, N.C.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Thomasboro Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church. Burial will be in the McKeithan Cemetery in Ash, N.C.
Bill Kaufman
ARAVADA, Colo. — Bill Kaufman, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002, at home.
He was a volunteer counselor. He assisted countless others and dedicated himself to humbly living one day at a time.
Survivors include his wife, Anita Kaufman; two sons, Brinton and Adam; his brother, Jay; his granddaughter, Emily; and his mother, Jean.
Services will be at 4 p.m. today at Highland Mortuary in Thornton.
Rabbi Morris R. Kesner
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Rabbi Morris Reuben Kesner, 78, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002.
He served as rabbi at Temple Emanuel and Temple Beth'or.
Survivors include Mitchell Kesner, Bertha Mann, Sarah Epstein; numerous nieces and nephews; and his two cats.
Memorial services in Myrtle Beach will be announced at a later date.

Nancy J. `Miss Nancy' Kokkins
NORTH MYRTLE BEACH — Nancy Juanita "Miss Nancy" Kokkins, 75, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002, at Loris Community Hospital.
She was born Feb. 24, 1927, in Winston-Salem, N.C., a daughter of the late Robert B. and Annie Viola Ball Hester.
She owned and operated "Nancy's Place" for 22 years. She was loved and respected by everyone who knew her. She never failed to help a friend or stranger. She was an avid giver to her community and to people in need.
Survivors include her daughter, Lynn High of North Myrtle Beach, and her fiance, Jamie Ray Watkins; a sister, Hazel Dobbins of Winston-Salem; and many others who she considered family.
She was predeceased by her husband, James T. Kokkins.
Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Lee Funeral Home in Little River.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The Rev. Beaver Greenway will officiate. Burial will be private.
