ASH, N.C. — The Rev. Jerome Jenrette, 87, of Ash Little River Road Northwest, died Thursday, Oct., 10, 2002, at home.
Arrangements will be announced by Brunswick Funeral Service and Crematory of Shallotte, N.C.

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH — Nancy J. Kokkins, 75, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002, at Loris Community Hospital.
Arrangements will be announced by Lee Funeral Home and Crematory of Little River/North Myrtle Beach.
Naomi O. Miles
HEMINGWAY — Naomi Owens Miles, 69, wife of Charmon Miles, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002.
She was born in Hemingway, a daughter of the late Roy and Catherine Bolyn Owens. She was a homemaker, a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and treasurer of her Sunday school class.
Survivors include her husband; sons, Jackie Miles and his wife, Ginger, of Myrtle Beach, Louis Miles, Joey Miles and his wife, Shelly, Kevin Miles and his wife, Reagan, all of Hemingway, Donald Miles and his wife, Pam, and Dennis Miles and his wife, Stephanie, both of Johnsonville; grandchildren, Kalyne Miles, Kathy Watkins, Bailey Miles, Morgan Miles, Alexe Miles, Breelyn Miles and Mallory Miles; great-grandchildren, Sidney and Melody Watkins.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Morris Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery and will be directed by the funeral home.
Patricia 'Patty' Noll
MYRTLE BEACH — Patricia "Patty" Ann Ventresco Noll, 69, of Myrtle Beach, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002, at Grand Strand Medical Center.
She was a retiree of the Limited Corp. and was currently employed part-time at Hampton Inn.
She was an active member of her community, the Apache Family Campground, and her church, the Covenant of Life in North Myrtle Beach.
She never met a stranger in her life, and everyone was treated like an old friend. She will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to come in contact with her.
Survivors include her husband, Paul F. Noll; her children, Walter Tippie and his wife, Kathryn, Robert Tippie and his wife, Vonna, Josephine Hall and her husband, Bruce, and Antonio Garcia; stepchildren, Teresa Long and her husband, Ken, Pamela Fisher, Kathy Noll, Paul-John Noll and Candi Smith; brothers, Robert Ventresco and his wife, Pat, and Benny Canini and his wife, Jan; 18 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.
She was predeceased by her mother, Josephine Canini, and her father, Lewis Ventresco.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight and from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at Lee Funeral Home chapel.
The funeral will follow visitation on Saturday at Lee Funeral Home chapel. The Rev. Matthew Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Ohio.

LONGS — Kenneth W. Parks, 61, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Edna Mae Parks; daughter, Lori Sloan; son, Dale Parks; son-in-law, John Sloan; daughter-in-law, Shela Parks; brother, Grover Parks; and grandchildren, Kristen and Brittany Sloan.
Arrangements will be announced by Grand Strand Funeral Home.
The Rev. John W. Squires
CONWAY — The Rev. John Wilbur Squires, 96, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002, at Conway Nursing Center.
He was born in Galivants Ferry, a son of the late John McDaniel and Mary Caroline Skipper Squires.
He was a member of Rehobeth Baptist Church and had pastored many churches. He was a retired farmer and carpenter.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Eliza Hucks Squires; one daughter, Marilee Graham; one granddaughter, Carla Sue Tindall; three stepsons, JP Singleton, Harry D. Singleton and Coy Singleton.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice Singleton Squires of Conway; one son, Melvin Squires of Hilton Head; one daughter, Oleita Hyman of Conway; five stepsons, Colletta Singleton, Linwood Singleton, Randall Singleton, Dale Singleton, all of Conway, and Lanier Singleton of Florence; two stepdaughters, Ollene Stokes, of Wilmington, N.C., and Karel Cooper of High Point, N.C.; 27 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. today at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway chapel. The Rev. Lamar Squires will officiate. Burial will be in Rehobeth Baptist Church Cemetery.

ATLANTA — Lavon Sumpter, 46, died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2002, in Atlanta after an illness.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Olive AME Church, 1108 Carver St.
Robert L. Turner Sr.
MYRTLE BEACH — Robert Lee Turner Sr., 65, of Caropines, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002, at his home.
He was born Sept. 20, 1937, in Carroll County, Va., a son of the late Robert Howard and Della Rebecca Culler Turner.
He was a master sergeant in the Air Force, retiring in 1977. He was a member of Garden City Baptist Church, an avid fisherman and a loving husband and father.
He was predeceased by his parents; a daughter, Andrea Maria; brother, James E. Turner; and a favorite fishing buddy, George Singleton.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Marylin Moore Turner; a son, Robert Lee Turner Jr. and his wife, Robin, of Friendswood, Texas; a daughter, Cynthia Lee Turner Spence and her husband, Mark, of King, N.C.; grandchildren, Garrett Turner, Rachel Turner and William Spence; a sister, Linnie Turner Pace of Ridgeway, Va.; and brothers, John M. Turner of Galax, Va., Archie B. Turner of Lewisville, N.C., and Harold L. Turner of Ashland, Va.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at Goldfinch Funeral Home, beach chapel.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow with military honors at Ocean Woods Cemetery.
