Charles E. Dunphy
MYRTLE BEACH — Charles Edward Dunphy, 63, of Socastee, died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002, at home.
He was born in New York, a son of the late Patrick and Mary Hannigan Dunphy. He was a Navy veteran and a retired firefighter from the Fire Department of New York. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church. He loved to be a handyman and to carve wood.
He was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Lorranie N. Dunphy; sons, Edward Dunphy and his wife, Kas, of Madison, Wis., and John Dunphy of Seattle; daughters, Susan Lafleur and her husband, Patrick, of Montreal and Christine Meier and special friend, Ken Stubblefield, of Seattle; six brothers; five sisters; four granddaughters; and one grandson.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Michael Catholic Church.
Goldfinch Funeral Home, beach chapel is in charge of arrangements.

GEORGETOWN — Ethel Emily, 81, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Arrangements will be announced by Wilds Funeral Home.
Emma B. Fulton
FLORENCE — Emma Bradley Fulton, 87, of Florence Presbyterian Home died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002, at McLeod Medical Center.
She was born Nov. 13, 1914, in Spring Gully, a daughter of the late James Ervin and Mary Wheler Fulton.
She had worked in the Baptist Bookstore in Charlotte, N.C., for 18 years. She then moved to Florence, where she was a librarian for Florence County Public Library until retirement. She was a member of Murrells Inlet Presbyterian Church, a member of United Daughters of the Confederacy, Ellison Capers Chapter and a member of the S.C. Historical Society.
Survivors include nephews, Edwin O. Fulton Jr. of Idaho, Samuel G. Vereen and J. David Vereen, both of Murrells Inlet, and John Fulton of Pawleys Island; a niece, Mary Jo Adkins of Bluffton; a sister-in-law, Mrs. E.O. Fulton of Murrells Inlet; great-nephews and nieces and great-great-nephews and nieces.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today at Belin Memorial Cemetery.

Inez P. Gaster
JOHNSONVILLE — Inez Poston Gaster, 78, wife of G. Belton Gaster Sr., died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002.
Survivors include her husband; son, George B. Gaster Jr.; grandchildren, George, Savannah and Sydney; and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at Morris Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel in Hemingway.
James 'Mayo' Golden
GEORGETOWN — James "Mayo" Golden, 61, died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2002, at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Survivors include sons, James Nesmith, Timothy Golden and Kevin Golden; daughters, Germaine Fraser and Ophelia Snow; and three sisters.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at New Light Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in the New Light Baptist Church cemetery.
Sarah Greenwood
JOHNSONVILLE — Sarah Martha Huggins Greenwood, 91, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002.
Survivors include her sons, J.D. and Gene Greenwood.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church.
Rhea Hanna
HANNAH, SC — Rhea Lucille Prosser Hanna, 79, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002.
Survivors include six daughters, Jenny, Renee, Pansy, Suzanne, Bonnie and Jennifer; two brothers; three sisters; 15 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Union Baptist Church.
Thomas Hardee
LORIS — Thomas Hardee, 61, of the Cherry Hill community, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002.

Roy V. High Jr.
NORTH MYRTLE BEACH — Roy V. High Jr., 87, died Friday, Oct. 4, 2002, at Loris Extended Care.
He was born March 26, 1915, in Elizabeth, N.J., a son of the late Roy Valentine and Louise Anna Seeger High.
He was a Navy World War II veteran. He was a chemical research engineer and retired from Exxon Corp. He was an avid golfer and a member of Surf Golf Club for many years. He was a member of Ocean Drive Presbyterian Church for 30 years and enjoyed working at Helping Hand.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy J. High of North Myrtle Beach; a son, James R. High of Cooperstown, N.Y.; two daughters, Susan B. Drake of Cherry Valley, N.Y., and Louisa A. Lewis, of Healy, Ark.; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lee Funeral Home chapel. Dr. Christopher Carlisle will officiate.
