MYRTLE BEACH — David Carter Connell, 67, of Commons Boulevard, died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2002, at Loris Community Hospital after an illness.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Log Church at Turkey Run State Park in Marshall, Ind.

CONWAY — Eva Shelley Gohagan, 78, widow of George Russell Gohagan Sr., of French Collins Road, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002, at Conway Hospital.
She was born in Conway, a daughter of the late William Davis and Clarkie Elizabeth Cooper Shelley.
She was a member of East Conway Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she was a member of the ladies auxiliary women's ministry.
Survivors include four sons, George R. Gohagan Jr. of Las Vegas, Dennis M. Gohagan of Ruffin, Gene R. Gohagan of Myrtle Beach and Earl Shelley of Conway; two daughters, Joyce Gooding of Ruffin and Sara Ukleya of Tampa, Fla.; a brother, Rick Shelley of Myrtle Beach; two sisters, Emaline Anderson of Garden City Beach and Idell Chestnut of Conway; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 tonight at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway chapel.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Rev. E.W. Ingram will officiate.
Burial will be in Juniper Bay Baptist Church Cemetery.

JOHNSONVILLE — Sarah Martha Huggins Greenwood, 91, widow of Jesse D. Greenwood Sr., died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002, at a Florence nursing center.

LORIS — Joe M. Jones, 35, died Sunday, Oct. 6, 2002, at Loris Healthcare System.
He was a son of Earline Jones.
Survivors include a son, Joe A. McCray; four sisters; three brothers; two aunts; four great-aunts; and other relatives and special friends.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the old Loris High School. The Rev. John A. Brown will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery in Loris.

GALIVANTS FERRY — Olivia Faith Martin, 8 months, died Tuesday, October 8, 2002.
She was born Feb. 5, 2002, in Charleston, a daughter of Timothy and Barbie Sawyer Martin.
Survivors, in addition to her parents, include a sister, Kelly Brooke Martin; her paternal grandparents, Windell and Pat Rasberry Martin of Galivants Ferry; her maternal grandparents, Kelly Bob Sawyer Jr. and Peggy Grice Sawyer of Marion; her paternal great-grandmother, Vonita Rasberry of Mullins; her paternal great-grandfather, Earl B. Rasberry, of Alexander, N.C.; and her maternal great-grandmother, Esther R. Sawyer of Marion.
She was predeceased by her paternal great-grandparents, Daniel and Ruth Martin; maternal great-grandmother, Margaret S. Grice; and maternal great-grandfather, Kelly Bob Sawyer.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Cox-Collins Funeral Home in Mullins.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Gethsemane Baptist Church. The Rev. William Graham and the Rev. William C. Jacobs will officiate.
Horace J. Miller
TABOR CITY, N.C. — Horace Johnson Miller, 80, of Miller Road, died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002, at Loris Community Hospital.
He was born in Columbus County, a son of the late Ode Monroe Miller and Sarah Ussery Miller.
He was a retired farmer and tobacconist and was founding co-owner of Miller Brothers & Sons. He was a member of Tabor City Baptist Church and Woodmen of the World and was a past member of the Columbus County School Board.
Survivors include his wife, Eula Williams Miller; a son, Ronald Johnson Miller of Sanford, N.C.; a daughter, Kaye Miller Pope of Whiteville, N.C.; a grandson, Gregory Miller of Tabor City; three granddaughters, Lachelle Miller of Spartanburg, Lucy Pope of Boone, N.C., and Martha Pope of Whiteville; and four great-granddaughters.
He was predeceased by a brother, Everette Miller; and a sister, Rachel Gore.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Tabor City Baptist Church. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Tabor City.

Retha Rabon
MYRTLE BEACH — Retha Mae Royals Rabon, 68, of Sandridge Mobile Home Park, died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.
She was born Sept. 25, 1934, in Aynor, a daughter of Ruth Martin Alford and the late Elbert Alford.
She was raised in Aynor and retired from AVX after 31 years.
Survivors, in addition to her mother of Socastee, include two sons, Hoye Royals and his wife, Chrissy, of Socastee and Ricky Royals of Myrtle Beach; two daughters, Susan Altman and her husband, Winston, of Georgetown and Kim Cooper of Myrtle Beach; two sisters, Norma Beverly of Socastee and Mary King of Neptune Beach, Fla.; four grandsons and a stepgrandson.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Palmetto Funeral Home in Conway.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. Tom Wallace II and the Rev. Neigel Scarborough will officiate.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
