CHADBOURN, N.C. — Robert Lee "Robbie" Soles, 59, died Monday, Oct. 7, 2002.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at the Inman chapel.
Interment will be in the Nobles Family Cemetery in Chadbourn.

Mattie W. Stevens
LORIS — Mattie W. Stevens, 75, of Loris, died Sunday, Oct. 6, 2002, at Loris Healthcare System.
Survivors include four daughters, Novella, Willa Dean, Beverly and Reneka; two brothers; five grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Mount Rona Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. A.B. Nichols will officiate. Burial will be in the Mount Rona Church cemetery.

Nina M. Ashcraft
PAWLEYS ISLAND — Nina Maxine Ashcraft, 82, formerly of Columbia Road, Shinnston, W.Va., died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
She was born Dec. 8, 1919, in Wyatt, W.Va., a daughter of the late Alonzo and Lora Duncan Ashcraft.
On Dec. 24, 1937, she married Arthur L. Ashcraft, who died Sept. 17, 1993.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Shinnston and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 103 in Shinnston. She retired from Stone & Thomas Department Store.
Survivors include a daughter, Trudy Gauer and her husband, Ted, of Pawleys Island; a son, Randy Ashcraft and his wife, Virginia, of Plum Run, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Christopher Todd Gauer and his wife, Yvonne, of Winston-Salem, N.C., Tracy Haugh and her husband, Michael, of Pawleys Island, and Allan Lee Irvin Ashcraft and Travis Randy Ashcraft, both of Plum Run; two great-grandchildren, Taylor Haugh and Trey Gauer; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a daughter; a brother, Clair Ashcraft; and a sister, Marie Satterfield.

Annebelle J. Brown
CONWAY — Annebelle Jordan Brown, 75, of Fourth Avenue, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002, at home.
She was born in Horry County, a daughter of the late William Oliver and Ella Viola Jordan.
She was member of the First Baptist Church of Myrtle Beach and was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 28 years. She received an Employee of the Year Award from Coastal Carolina Hospital and was a member of the Ruth Sunday school class. She was a member of the Women of the Moose Myrtle Beach Lodge No. 1959.
Survivors include one son, James T. Brown and his wife, Sylvia, of Mount Pleasant; three daughters, Joyce Brown Emma and her husband, Joseph W., Dana E. Brown, and Kay Brown Strange and her husband, Robert E., all of Conway; one sister-in-law, Ida Mae Baker of Myrtle Beach; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Marie Bashor; and three brothers, Marcus L. Jordan, Mike W. Jordan and Patrick M. Jordan.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway chapel.
The funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church of Myrtle Beach. Dr. Wayne Brown and Dr. Carl Compton will officiate. Burial will be in Ocean Woods Cemetery.

SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. — Charles Thomas Cagle, 36, died Sunday, Oct. 6, 2002, in Myrtle Beach.

Alton L. Chestnut
CONWAY — Alton Lee Chestnut, husband of Vermell Chestnut, of Carver Street in Myrtle Beach, died Sunday, Oct. 6, 2002, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.
He was a son of the late Charity Lee Spivey and Sammy Vaught Sr. He was educated in Horry County public schools and was a member of Sandy Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He was a member of the Ocean View Masonic Lodge No. 325. He helped establish Myrtle Beach Seafood, where he was employed for more than 26 years.
Survivors include four daughters, Essie Dennison and her husband, Booker, of Myrtle Beach, Freda Gardner of Loris, Terry Gentry and her husband, Willie, of Toledo, Ohio, and Flora Pickett of Myrtle Beach; six sons, Alton Keith of Conway, John Keith and his wife, Erica, Sammy Keith, Isidore Pickett and his wife, Paula, of Myrtle Beach, Barry Chestnut of Silver Spring, Md., and Wade Chestnut of Charlotte, N.C.; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four sisters, Vernell Alston, Elder Emily Howard, Clara McGruder and Queen Bowens, all of Myrtle Beach; three brothers, Robert Young Jr., James Young and Phillip Spivey, all of Myrtle Beach; his father-in-law, Ephrom Sparkman of Murrells Inlet; and four stepsisters.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Sandy Grove Missionary Baptist Church, on Carver Street. Burial will be in the Pine Island Community Cemetery.
