Richard Petersen Sr.
CONWAY — Richard Eugene "Pete" Petersen Sr., 66, of West Homewood Rd., formerly of Murrells Inlet, died Tuesday, May 28, 2002, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 27, 1936, in Manning, Iowa, and was raised in Nebraska, a son of the late Raymond C. Petersen and Gladys Miller Petersen LeRoy and stepson of George LeRoy.
He was an Air Force veteran. He was a member of the NRA.
Survivors include his wife, Jackie Petersen; a son, Richard E. "Gene" Petersen Jr., and his wife, Viola, of Hershey, Neb.; two stepdaughters, Tammy Fowler of Myrtle Beach and Terri Schellhase of Gilman, Ill.; his mother-in-law, Ruth Herring; four grandchildren and a great-grandson.
He was predeceased by a brother, LeRoy Petersen.
Visitation was Thursday at Goldfinch Funeral Home, beach chapel.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be private.

Eddie L. Prince
ANDREWS — Eddie Lue Prince, 86, died Tuesday, May 28, 2002.
Survivors include three sons, Thomas E. Prince, Bobby D. Prince and Fred B. Prince; a sister; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.

Robert 'Bobby' Riggs
MYRTLE BEACH — Robert Marshall "Bobby" Riggs, 46, of South Kings Highway, formerly of Martinsville, died Wednesday, May 29, 2002, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.
He was born June 6, 1955, in Martinsville, Va., a son of Marshall Yates and Lucille West Riggs.
He was a graduate of Martinsville High School. He was previously employed with Bryant Heating and Plumbing. He attended Morgan Ford Christian Church. He was a former member of Martinsville Jaycees and Martinsville and Bassett Moose Lodge. He was a member of Dick Bell Lodge No. 155, a member of Knights of Pythias, Patrick Henry Lodge No. 82, where he served as past district deputy grand chancellor, past chancellor commander and past grand chancellor of grand jurisdiction of Virginia, and a member of Patrick Henry Dokkie Club. He was also a former member of Martinsville Henry County Christmas Parade Association, Java Hunt Club and received a key to the city of Martinsville in 2000. He was an avid motorcyclist and won best in show in Daytona during Bike Fest 2000 and first place in the Trike Division in 2000 in Myrtle Beach. He volunteered at Camp Holiday Trails in Charlottesville, a camp for children with disabilities.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Glynora M. "Punkin" Riggs; a daughter, Beth R. Soderberg, and her husband, Mike, of Martinsville, special friends, Richard Craven of Myrtle Beach and Thomas Powers of Georgetown; his maternal grandparents, Bernard and Grace West; paternal grandparents, Minnie H and William M. Riggs; and a granddaughter, Allyson Soderberg.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at Norris Funeral Home, Martinsville, and at other times at his daughter's home, 1102 Mountain Road.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The Rev. J.D. Harmon will officiate.
A memorial service will be at 5 p.m. Thursday at Ocean Lakes Family Campground, Myrtle Beach.

PAWLEYS ISLAND — George Thompson, 77, died Wednesday, May 29, 2002, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.

Rudolph 'Rudy' Washington
BUCKSPORT — Rudolph "Rudy" Washington, 87, of Martin Luther Drive, died Saturday, May 25, 2002, at Conway Hospital.
He was born in Bronx, N.Y., a son of the late Fannie Washington and Lenious Farmer.
He was educated in New York Public Schools. He was member of Salem AME Church, where he served on the trustee board, finance committee and steward board. He served his country faithfully in the Navy and was honorably discharged. He was an avid golfer. He was a retired television repairman and lab technician for Walter Kittie.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Frances Washington of Bucksport; a son, Lance Washington and his wife, Allison, of San Diego; two granddaughters, Nicole and Lynette Washington of San Diego; a brother, Conrade Farmer and his wife, Carrie, of North Miami Beach, Fla.; three stepgrandchildren, Tina Smith and Ronald Thomas, both of Hillside, N.J., and Ronisha Austin of Newark, N.J.; and two brothers-in-law, Allen Alston and Willie E. Alston and his wife, Orveretta.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at Salem AME Church. Burial will be in Owens Family Cemetery.

Damiene R. Gibbs
MYRTLE BEACH — Damiene Ronshon Gibbs, 15, died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2002, in Myrtle Beach after an accident.
He was born January 15, 1987, a son of Barbara Gibbs McKnight and Anthony Chestnut.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include two brothers, three sisters, paternal and maternal grandmothers.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 tonight at Salem Baptist Church.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Billy W. Henderson
MULLINS — Billy Wayne Henderson, 53, of Mullins, died Monday, Oct. 7, 2002.
Survivors include his wife, Doris; one son, Robbie; three stepdaughters; two brothers; three sisters; and six stepgrandchildren.
He was predeceased by three brothers.
The funeral will be at noon today at Meares Funeral Home Chapel of Mullins. Burial will be in Devotion Gardens Cemetery.
