Elsa M. Phillipi
FLORENCE — Elsa Moore Phillipi has died.
She was a native of Florence County and a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband.
Survivors include a son, Michael Phillipi of Decatur, Ga.; four sisters, Sybil Mashburn of Decatur, Ga., Nita Cain of Pamlico, Aline Oakley of Florence and Frances Brown of Boston; two granddaughters, Christina and Jessica Phillipi, both of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at McMillan-Small Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at at Ocean Woods Memorial Park.
James M. Porter
CONWAY — James Martin "Mouse" Porter, 65, of Willard Road, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2002, at home after an illness.
He was born in Conway, a son of the late Martin Angus and Josie Mew Porter.
He was a member of Free Welcome Freewill Baptist Church and was an Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Maxine Sutton Porter; two sons, James Douglas Porter of Myrtle Beach and Martin Brandon Porter of Conway; a sister, Frances Porter Cox and her husband, Edward, of Conway; two nieces, Sharon Newman and her husband, David, of Conway and Rachel Harp and her husband, Clay, of Myrtle Beach; a nephew, Edward Martin "Marty" Cox of Conway; and a great-niece, Emily Newman of Conway.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Free Welcome Freewill Baptist Church. The Rev. Brooks Sykes will officiate. Burial will be in in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Alma R. Rabon
MULLINS — Alma R. Rabon, 77, of Cedar Court, wife of the late James R. Rabon, died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2002, at home.
She was born in Conway, a daughter of the late Hallie and Amy King Rabon.
She was employed by Dillon Furniture Manufacturing for 28 years.
Survivors include a son, James "Buddy" Rabon Jr. of Florence; two daughters, Tina Jordan of Conway and Mary Rabon of Mullins; two brothers, Leo Rabon of High Point, N.C., and Hal Rabon Jr. of Arden, N.C.; three sisters, Essie Jordan of Thomasville, N.C., Eloise Rabon of Columbia and Marie White of Wilmington, N.C.; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel. The Rev. Hoyt King will officiate. Burial will be at Bayboro Baptist Church Cemetery.

CONWAY — Jack Richardson, 73, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2002, at Conway Hospital.
Arrangements will be announced by Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel.
Greer E. Simmons
GEORGETOWN — Greer Edge Simmons, 80, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2002, at a Georgetown hospital.
He was born in Florence, a son of the late Milton Greer and Carolyn Pfaff Simmons.
He was a retired civil engineer with the Charleston Naval Ship Yard and an Army Corps of Engineers veteran of World War II who served in the Normandy invasion. He was a member of Johnsons Chapel Baptist Church, a former deacon, a member of the Indiantown Masonic Lodge 165 and a graduate of Darlington County schools.
Survivors include his wife, Belah Cannon Simmons; four daughters, Mar Elia Sanders of Marion, Sylvia Rogers, Freda Cato and Lisa Justice, all of Georgetown; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Johnsons Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Morris Funeral Home in Hemingway.

Terry T. Skinner
CONWAY — Terry T. Skinner, 44, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002.
Survivors include his father, Gerald Skinner; his wife, Tammy L. Skinner; his daughter, Tiffany Skinner; a brother; a sister; and his grandmother.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Hickory Grove Baptist Church.
Palmetto Funeral Home is in charge.
Thomas M. Southerland
CHARLESTON — Thomas Michael Southerland died Monday, Jan. 21, 2002, at home.
He was born Oct. 17, 1959, in Myrtle Beach, a son of William Judson Southerland Jr. and Ruby Willingham Southerland Coville.
He was a sales representative with Mount Pleasant Volkswagen.
Survivors, in addition to his mother of Charleston and his father of Satellite Beach, Fla., include a son, Brett Southerland of Charleston; two sisters, Judith S. Bowers of Charleston and Janice S. Gibbs of Mars Hill, N.C.; and a brother, William J. Southerland III of Myrtle Beach.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Stuhr's Funeral Home, Downtown Chapel.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
