Russell Roger Chase
Russell Roger Chase, 70, husband of Joanne Rebecca Jett Chase, died Sunday, June 11, 2006, in Clarendon Memorial Hospital in Manning.
Born January 25, 1936, in Springfield, Ohio, he was a son of the late Foster and Florence Daisy Jones Chase.
He was director of MIS (Marketing Information System), a National Guardsman and a member of Jordan United Methodist Church.
He was a former member of the Dayton (Ohio) Jaycees, past president of the Dayton Exchange Club, worked for the Berry Company, which later became BellSouth and was a board member of Walnut Grove Country Club.
Surviving besides his wife of Manning are a son, Mark Allen (Terri) Chase of Miamisburg, Ohio; and two grandsons, Joel Matthew Chase and Shane Michael Chase, also of Miamisburg.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at Stephens Funeral Home in Manning, with the Rev. Dr. George Gain officiating.
Burial will follow in David Cemetery in Dayton at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Exchange Club Foundation.

Ruby Mae Driggers
Ruby Mae Driggers, 62, widow of Ledell Driggers, died Thursday, June 8, 2006, at her home in Summerton.
Born March 19, 1944, in Lake City, she was a daughter of the late Lee and Ruby Parker Powell.
She was first married to the late Herbert Sims.
She was a country store clerk and was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith.
Surviving are a son, Herbert Allen (Carol) Sims of Galivants Ferry; a daughter, Lois Ann (David) Healan of Summerton; a brother, Robert L. Powell of Kingstree; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 10, 2006, in Little Star Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Morris Smith officiating.
Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Bobby Ray Floyd
LAKE CITY – Bobby Ray Floyd, 67, died Tuesday, June 6, 2006, at his residence after an illness.
Born in Clarendon County, he was a son of the late Ida Mae Floyd Floyd and Reverend Herbert A. Floyd.
He was a farmer, former Clarendon County magistrate, former tobacco warehouseman, a member of Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church, and a member of the Adult Sunday school class.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Buena Floyd Frye, and a brother, Fraidy Floyd.
Surviving are his wife, Louise McElveen Wallace Floyd of the home; three sons, Bobby (Laura) Floyd of Lake City, Bill (Mary) Wallace of Turbeville and Johnny (Cheryl) Wallace of Greenville; two sisters, Roxie (Julian) Beard and Betty (Johnny) Lee, both of Lake City; two brothers, Mitchell (Helen) Floyd and Nick Floyd, both of Lake City; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Patsy Floyd of Lake City; and a brother-in-law, George Frye of Coward.
Funeral services were held on Friday, June 9, 2006, at Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial in the church cemetery.

Jessie M. Floyd
Mrs. Jessie Mae Floyd, 84, died Saturday, June 10, 2006, at a Manning hospital after an illness.
Born in Turbeville, she was a daughter of the late William Francis Welch and Emma Faust Welch.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Pine Grove United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Palmer Floyd; a daughter-in-law, Ruth Floyd; and two grandsons, Patrick Wilson and Richard Neil Floyd.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Marion (Harold) Godwin of Scranton and Mrs. Judy (Danny) Wilson of Camden; five sons, Mr. Fred (Alica) Floyd of Scranton, Mr. Lilton “Nunny” (Jeanette) Floyd, Mr. Jack (Kay) Floyd and Mr. Kelly (Sharon) Floyd, all of Turbeville, and Mr. Rocky (B.J.) Floyd of Sumter; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 13, 2006, in the chapel of Floyd Funeral Home.
Burial followed in the Pine Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.
