Cynthia Cripps Proctor, RN (ret.)
Cynthia Cripps Proctor, 67, most recently of Providence, RI, died on Saturday, July 11, 2009, after a valiant battle with Multiple Sclerosis. She was born in Portland, ME, a daughter of the late William J. and Emma E. (Vanderwal) Proctor.
Ms. Proctor graduated from Falmouth (ME) High School in 1960 and attended the University of Maine, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi. She received her BSN in 1965 from Cornell University/New York Hospital School of Nursing and did graduate work in rehabilitative nursing at Boston University. In 1983, she earned an MA in pastoral theology from the Episcopal Divinity School (EDS) in Cambridge, MA.
Ms. Proctor devoted her career to community health nursing and to the advancement of best practices within her profession. She worked for Visiting Nurses Associations in Boston, Cambridge, Newton, and Waltham, and for the Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program at Boston Children's Hospital. She was a member of the Massachusetts Nurses Association and in 1984 received their Humanitarian Award.
Ms. Proctor was active in the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts's Commission on Women's Ministries. While in seminary, she received a Jonathan Myrick Daniels Fellowship, which gave her an opportunity to work among Boston's homeless women's population. The fellowship is named for an EDS seminarian killed in Alabama during the civil rights movement. Ms. Proctor had been a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Newton, MA, as well as the Church of the Redeemer and the Episcopal Cathedral of St. John, both in Providence.
She was an avid photographer and needlecraft artist.
Ms. Proctor leaves her longtime friends and caregivers, Nancy Hamlin Soukup and Dorothy (Ricky) L. Brightman of Warwick ; two sisters Cornelia Vanderwal Proctor Jenness and her husband, Peter, of Spofford, NH, and Diane Elizabeth Proctor-Campbell of Tacoma, WA; four nieces, Heather, Catherine, Jennifer, and Stephanie; and two grandnephews, Jacob and Levi. She also leaves her beloved dog, Munchkin.
The family expresses their gratitude for the excellent nursing care Ms. Proctor received at Jane Brown (RI Hospital), Evergreen House (East Providence), and Home and Hospice Care of RI.
Her memorial service will be held Sunday, August 2, 2009, at 2:00 pm, in the chapel at St. Elizabeth's Court Assisted Living, 109 Melrose Street, Providence, RI, to which family and friends are invited. Calling hours are respectfully omitted. A private burial will be held in Falmouth, ME. Philip B. Renner
Philip B. Renner, 53, of Warwick, formerly of North Kingstown, died suddenly on July 8, 2009.
Mr. Renner was a service representative for National Grid/Gas Division for twenty years.
He was born in Buffalo, NY, a son of Bruce A. and Doris W. (Webber) Renner of North Kingstown.
He was the former husband of Deborah J. (Menghi) and loving father of Michael R. Renner, R.N. of Pawtucket and Heather E. Renner, R.N. of S. Carolina.
He also leaves two brothers, Steve and his wife, Molly Renner of Ft. Jones, CA, Mark Renner of Narragansett, and one sister, Julie Renner of North Kingstown.
His funeral service will be held on Monday, July 13, 2009 at 11:00 am in The First Baptist Church of East Greenwich, 30 Pierce Street, East Greenwich. Interment will be private. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Sunday, 2:00 to 5:00 pm at THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main Street, Wickford Village, North Kingstown. Louis Ricciarelli, Jr.
Louis Ricciarelli, Jr., 56, of Scenic Drive, Exeter, passed away Tuesday. He was the loving and devoted husband of Deborah C. (Hoffman) Ricciarelli.
Born in Pawtucket, he was a beloved son of Louis Ricciarelli, Sr. of Pawtucket and the late Medora L. (Smith) Ricciarelli.
An Aquaculturist, Louis owned and operated the “Chelsea Ann” He was a graduate of St. Raphael Academy, class of 1971 and attended U.R.I.
He was a member of Kingston Congregational Church, the Rhode Island Shellfish Assn., Massachusetts Lobsterman Assn., Ocean State Shellfish Cooperative, and Oceanstate Aquaculture Assn.
Lou was known for his infectious smile. A rock to his family, friends and neighbors, he always weathered every storm either at sea or what God threw his way. He will always live on in everyone's heart because life never ends when you are so deeply loved.
He was the proud father of Ross T. Ricciarelli of Wakefield and Chelsea A. Boisclair and her husband Sean of West Kingston. Cherished brother of Mark W. Ricciarelli of Cumberland and Glenn M. Ricciarelli and his wife Pamela of Scituate. Loving son in law of Walter O. Hoffman and L. Carol Hoffman. Caring brother-in-law of W. Gary Hoffman, M.D. and his wife Ericka, M. Scott Hoffman and his wife Carla, Victoria Banahan and her husband Michael, and Cynthia Bresciani and her husband Thomas. He is also survived my many nieces and nephews and his devoted companion Chihuahua Rocco.
A Memorial Service will be held Sunday at 5:30 pm at Gardner's Wharf at the end of Main Street in Wickford Village, North Kingstown. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Sunday 2-5 pm in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main Street, North Kingstown.

William E. Robinson, Jr.
William E. Robinson, Jr., 49, of Rollens Drive, died August 11, 2009 at home.
Born in South Kingstown, he was a son of the late William E. and Dorothy (Robinson) Robinson.
Caring brother of Richard W. Smith of Wakefield, Thomas H. Robinson, Lawrence E. Robinson, and Carol Hazard of North Kingstown. Patricia Young of Wakefield, Michael A. Robinson of Charlestown, Clifford A. Robinson of Newport and the late Isabella F. Wilcox and Myrtle E. Sekator.

Barys M. “Barrie” Scott
Barys M. “Barrie” Scott, died July 22, 2009. Born and raised in Peabody, MA, she graduated from Peabody High School and Burdett College in Lynn, MA.
She moved to Providence after proudly serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Wife of the late Frank S. Scott, she is survived by a loving family: son Mark F. Scott, M.D. and his wife Diane, of East Greenwich; son Neil W. Scott of Sarasota, Florida; daughter Pamela S. Monaghan and her husband Michael, also of East Greenwich; and grandsons Mark F. Scott II, M.D. and 2 nd Lt. Jonathan P. Scott, and granddaughter Dana M. Scott, all of East Greenwich.
A daughter of the late Albert W. and Jessie (Benway) MacNeil, she was predeceased by her three sisters: Shirley Barnes, Ardis Pelletier, and Althea Poehler.
She was a homemaker and a longtime member of both the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the Meshanticut Park Garden Club.
She was very active with the Cranston Chapter of Volunteer Services For Animals, and the Cranston Animal Shelter was later renamed the Barrie Scott Animal Shelter in her honor.
Relatives and friends are invited to Visitation Saturday, August 1, 2009 from 10:00-11:00 am with a Funeral Service at 11:00 am in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95).
Burial to follow at the family cemetery in East Greenwich.

Jean Stoddart Keir (Hardie) Scott
Jean Stoddart Keir (Hardie) Scott died on June 12, 2009 at Kent County Memorial Hospital.
She was the wife of the late Dr. Jorge L. Scott.
She was born in Somerville, MA on December 31, 1916.
She was the daughter of James and May (Stoddart) Hardie.
She was the granddaughter of Keir Hardie, one of the founders of the Labour Party in Britain and the first Labour member elected to Parliament.
She spent most of her childhood and early adulthood in Cumnock, Scotland.
She received her nursing training (RN) from the Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
She worked at both Mt. Sinai Hospital in Hartford, CT and Kent County Memorial Hospital.
For many years, Mrs. Scott worked in her husband's private practice in their home on Post Road in Apponaug.
She was a Happy Hoofer tap dancer at the Warwick Senior Center.
She is survived by her daughter, Dolores May Arias, her son-in-law, Max Arias; and her granddaughter, Selena.
