Leo Labonte

Leo Labonte, 87, of Leander St. passed away Tuesday. Born in Canada he was the son of the late Alfred and Alice (Lapointe) Labonter.
Leo worked in construction for many years before retiring.
He is survived by two brothers, Paul Labonte of Johnston and Willie Labonte of Georgia; fours sisters, Alfreda Przybylowicz of Providence, Theresa Brenan of Cranston, Doris Lamirande of Smithfield and Yvonne Brien of Johnston. He also leaves many nieces and nephews and was the brother of the late Jeannette Paille and Roland Labonte.
The funeral and burial were private. Arrangements by SUPINSKI & BORRELLI.
Michael Vacca

Michael Vacca, 87, of Springfield, Virginia and formerly of North Providence, passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2010. He was the husband of Antoinette (Labonte) Vacca. Born in Stillwater, he was the son of the late Domenico and Angela (Donia) Vacca.
He was an army veteran of World War II and had lived in North Providence before moving to Virginia in 1973. Mr. Vacca was an accountant for the federal government for 42 years, retiring in 1983.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Marilyn Vacca, Joan Blair and her husband Gary, Janet Vacca-LeBoeuf, and Michael Vacca and his wife Julia; three grandchildren and one great granddaughter. He was the grandfather of the late Joseph Vacca.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at 9:45am from the HOEY-ARPIN-WILLIAMS-KING Funeral Home, 168 Academy Avenue, Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in Mary Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth Street, North Providence. Burial will be in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours Tuesday 5-8pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation or Selesian’s Missions, would be appreciated.
Anthony J. Oleska

Anthony J. Oleska, 84, of Pawtucket, passed away Thursday, November 18, 2010. He was the husband of Norma (Temple) Oleska. Born in Central Falls, he was the son of the late Frank and Sophie (Nowak) Oleska.
Mr. Oleska was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War. In World War II he served aboard the destroyer, USS McNulty. In the Korean War he served aboard the Aircraft Carrier, USS Rendover. He had worked for Collyer Wire for many years before retiring.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Carla Oleska of Easthampton, MA, and Deborah Lalime of Pascoag, three sisters, Bertha Szlashta of Lincoln, Pauline Sullivan of Virginia, and Helen Corredora of Cumberland, two grandchildren, Damon and Danielle Lalime, and two great grandchildren, Morgan and Madison Lalime. He was the brother of the late Josephine Cluin, Lucy Kwolek, and Catherine Aylward.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday, November 21, 2010 from 2-5pm with a Celebration of his Life at 4pm in the COSTIGAN-O’NEILL Funeral Home, 220 Cottage Street, Pawtucket. The funeral and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to Veteran’s Medical Center, 830 Chalkstone Avenue, Providence, RI, 02908 or to Smile Train, 41 Madison Avenue, 28th Floor, New York, New York, 10010, would be appreciated.
Eva M. Ferland

Eva M. Ferland, 98, of Pawtucket, passed away Sunday, November 28, 2010. She was the wife of the late Louis Ferland. Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Marianne (Drolet) Normand.
She is survived by her children, Constance Lagerstrom, Muriel Chagnon, George Ferland, and Gloria Baribault;, a sister, Doris LaRose, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Anita LeBlanc, George Normand, and Alice Morgan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, December 2, 2010 at 10:30am in Jeanne Jugan Chapel, 964 Main Street, Pawtucket. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-7pm in the Jeanne Jugan Home. Arrangements by Prata Funeral Home, Pawtucket.
Charles A. Sirois
November 29, 2010
Charles A. Sirois, 88, passed away Monday, November 29, 2010. He was the husband of Nora T. (Olivieri) Sirois. Born in Pawtucket he was the son of the late Sifrois and Jessie (Beauregard) Sirois. Mr. Sirois served in the US Army during WWII.
He worked at Gloster Engineering Co. in East Providence for 22 years before retiring. He was also a member of the DAV Post #56.
Besides his wife he is survived by a son, Edward Sirois of Pawtucket; two brothers, Louis and Richard Sirois both of Florida and several nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Charles Sirois and brother of the late Ellen Sherman.
The funeral will be held Thursday, December 2, 2010 at 7:45am from the COSTIGAN-O’NEILL Funeral Home, 220 Cottage Street, Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9am in Our Lady Queen of Martyr Church, Coyle Avenue, Seekonk. Burial will follow in Saint Stephen Cemetery, Attleboro. Visiting hours Friday 7:45-8:30am prior to the mass.
Frederick N. Gariepy

Frederick N. Gariepy, 84, of Daggett Avenue passed away peacefully Monday at home. He was the husband of Rita (Blanchette) Gariepy with whom he had celebrated 63 years of marriage on November 22nd. Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Frederick A. and Margaret (Farley) Gariepy.
Mr. Gariepy was a 1944 graduate of Saint Raphael’s Academy and served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a Pawtucket Fire Fighter for 27 years before retiring as Lieutenant in 1977.
He then worked at Texas Instruments as a Sheet Metal Mechanic from 1977-1998. He was also a member of the DAV, a communicant of the Saint Cecelia Church and belonged to St. Teresa’s Seniors Bowling League.
Fred took great pride in his vegetable gardens. He created beautiful stained glass art and handmade furniture that will be treasured by his family for generations. He also enjoyed cross country skiing and traveling, particularly to US Navy reunions across the US.
Besides his wife he is survived by a sister Mary O’Malley of Pawtucket; four sons, Richard Gariepy and his wife LaDonna of New Hampshire, James Gariepy and his companion Kiet Ly of California, Robert Gariepy and his wife Mary Jane of Virginia and Michael Gariepy and his wife Catherine of Oregon; three daughters, Diane Dingley and her husband Mark of North Kingstown, Carol Varin and her husband Ronald of Maine and Gail Girouard and her husband Paul of Attleboro; sixteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Saturday, December 4, 2010 at 8am from the COSTIGAN-O’NEILL Funeral Home, 220 Cottage Street, Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9am in Saint Cecelia Church, Central Avenue, Pawtucket. Burial with Military Honors will follow in RI Veteran’s Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Friday 4-7pm.
Anne T. (Pasbach) Dionne
Anne T. (Pasbach) Dionne, 74, of Wampum Drive, died Wednesday January 3, 2007 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Norman A. Dionne for 55 years. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Earl and Mary (White) Pasbach, Anne resided in Warwick for most of her life.
Anne was a homemaker for 25 years and an administrator in the field of developmental disabilities for 28 years.
Anne is survived by her children Norma Cole and her husband Stephen of Coventry, Kenneth Dionne and his wife Judith of North Kingstown, Donna Eddy and her husband John of Warwick, Janet Deschler and her husband Ron of Dayton, Ohio, and John Dionne and his wife Kristin of Hopkinton, MA. She was the loving grandmother of Heather and Matthew Cole, David and Andrea Eddy, Timothy and Stephanie Deschler, and John, Jr. and Lucas Dionne. Anne leaves a brother Earl F. Pasbach of Providence.
Her funeral will be held Saturday at 9:30 am from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Greenwood, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in St. Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Road, Warwick. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, East Greenwich. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Friday 4-7 pm. Judith B. (Benander) Moreau
Judith B. (Benander) Moreau, 78, of Natick Avenue died Sunday in the Intensive Care Unit of Rhode island Hospital.
She was the wife of the late N. Robert Moreau. They had been married for 54 years before he passed away on June 5, 2003.
Born in Meriden, CT, daughter of the late George Bertel Benander and Alcyone (McKenzie) Benander, she resided in Cranston since 1936.
Mrs. Moreau was a graduate of Brown University, in Providence, RI. She valued the importance of education greatly and remained active in her Alumni Association. Judy was devoted to her family, extended family and friends.
She leaves a son, Stephen M. Moreau of Jamestown, and daughters Julie M. Reichling of New York, NY; Susan M. Cary of Cranston and Marguerite J. Hague of Highland Falls, NY; a sister-in-law, Ruth V. Gallant of Safety Harbor, FL; five grandchildren and one great grandchild. Her sister, Margaret A. Baggesen of East Greenwich and her brother, John C. Benander of Warwick predeceased her.
Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service in her honor on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at 10:00am in the Oak Lawn Community Baptist Church, 229 Wilbur Avenue, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to The Rhode Island Community Food Bank, 200 Niantic Avenue, Providence, RI 02907 would be appreciated.
