Lillian F. “Pinky” (Heaton) Bowie

Lillian F. “Pinky” (Heaton) Bowie, of Sarah Teft Drive, Warwick formerly of Lennon St, Providence died unexpectedly on Wednesday at Fatima Hospital, North Providence.
Lillian was the wife of the late Charles J. Bowie who died on March 15, 2008.
Born in Providence she was daughter of the late George W.J. & Lillian E. (Knight) Heaton.
She was the loving mother of Michael C. Kelly with whom she lived.
She also leaves a sister Shirley A. Mullaney of Husdon, Ma, two nieces and a nephew also many friends and colleagues with whom she loved to work.
She was a 1966 Graduate of the Our Lady of Fatima Hospital School of Nursing.
Lilllian was a devoted Nurse at Fatima Hospital from 1966-l974, at Roger Williams Medical Center from l974-l998 and at the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary from 1999 until she became ill. She was an Assistant Shop Steward in the Stop & Shop Johnston for the last 10 years and a very devoted union member at the store.
Her funeral will be held Monday at 10 from the Hoey-Arpin-Williams-King Funeral Home, 168 Academy Avenue with a Mass of Christian Burial in the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary, Holy Family Chapel, 399 Fruit Hill Avenue at 11 am.
Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston.
Visiting Hours will be Sunday 4-7 pm. Relatives and friends are invited.
Ruth Rodrigues
November 5, 2009
Ruth Rodrigues, 78, of Pawtucket, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2009.
She was the wife of Manuel Rodrigues.
Born in Attleboro, MA, she was the daughter of the late David and Ruth (Ring) White.
Mrs. Rodrigues had lived most of her life in Pawtucket.
She worked in the jewelry industry for various companies for many years before retiring.
Besides her husband, she is survived by three sisters, Lydia Dion of Florida, Mae Cummings and Elizabeth Brasher, both of Pawtucket, a brother, David White of Pawtucket.
She was the sister of the late Irene Rei and Jeanette Matts.
A Service will be held Monday, November 9, 2009 at 11am in the COSTIGAN-O'NEILL Funeral Home, 220 Cottage Street, Pawtucket.
Relatives and friends are invited.
Visiting hours Sunday 3-5pm in the funeral home.
Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Robert E. Atkinson Sr. (Commander USN Ret.)

Robert E. Atkinson Sr. (Commander USN Ret.), 85, of Ninigret Street Warwick and Hatherly Street, North Providence died Sunday at home.
Born in Corning, Ohio, he was son of the late George and Gladys (Ayers) Atkinson.
He was the husband of the late Theresa E. (Davey) Atkinson.
Commander Atkinson was a Naval Aviator serving 4 years on Active Duty and 27 years in the Reserves.
He was also Vice President of Production for the former Catamore Jewelry in East Providence.
He was the father of Robert E. Atkinson Jr. of South Kingstown, Terry M. Williams of Charlestown, David B. Atkinson of Warwick and Debra Jean Atkinson of Charlestown and the late Kenneth J. Atkinson.
He also leaves 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and his beloved Julia and her family.
He was the brother of Sheldon Atkinson and his wife Gemma of Columbus, OH, Patricia Tolbot and her husband Raymond of Mt. Gilead, OH and the late Byron Atkinson.
He also leaves many nieces and nephews.
A service will be held Thursday, November 12, 2009 at 11 am in the HOEY-ARPIN-WILLIAMS-KING Funeral Home, 168 Academy Avenue , Providence . Visiting hours 9:30 – 11am prior to the service. Burial with Military Honors will follow in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.

Agata (Tamosaityte) Zalabowski

Agata (Tamosaityte) Zalabowski, 99, died Sunday November 8, 2009 at the Cherry Hill Manor in Johnston.
She was the widow of Stanley Zalabowski.
Born in Lithuania she had lived in Providence for over 50 years.
Mrs. Zalabowski was employed as a housekeeper for Miriam Hospital for 20 years before retiring in 1974.
She is survived by her son Richard and his wife Angela Zalabowski, daughter-in-law Bertha Zalobowski, 6 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Thursday at 9AM in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, Atwood Ave, Johnston.
Calling hours are TONIGHT, Wednesday 5-7PM at the Hoey-Arpin-Williams-King Funeral Home, 168 Academy Ave., Providence.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in her memory to the St. Robert Bellarmine Church Food Bank, 1804 Atwood Ave., Johnston, RI 02919.

Rose T. Jalbert, 91, of Woonsocket, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, November 10, 2009 surrounded by her family at the home of her daughter, Janice, her son-in-law, Ronald, and granddaughter, Shannon.
She was the wife of the late Henry Aime Jalbert.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Elvira (Petracca) Carboni.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Mrs. Jalbert was a lifelong resident of Woonsocket.
She was a communicant of Saint Joseph Church, Woonsocket.
Besides her daughter, Janice Allard and husband, Ronald of Woonsocket, she leaves her two sons, Henry Jalbert and his wife Esther of Cumberland, and Gene Jalbert and his wife Carol of Woonsocket, two sisters, Mary Tremblay and Anna Cote, both of Woonsocket, seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Lucy Gilbert and Gino Carboni.
The Funeral will be held Friday, November 13, 2009 at 8am from the O'NEILL FUNERAL HOME, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9am in Saint Joseph Church, Mendon Road, Woonsocket. Burial will be in Saint Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham, MA.
Relatives and friends are invited.

Irene M. (Benoit) Birmingham, 71, passed away Sunday, November 22, 2009. She was the wife of the late George Birmingham Jr.
She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Adamczyk, of Hernando Beach, Florida, Dale Lennon of Hernando Beach, Florida, Dawn Wakim of Smithfield, Della Sousa of Warwick, and Dorothy Birmingham of Johnston; four sons, George Brimingham III of Ocala, Florida, Gordon Birmingham of Johnston, Gary Birmingham of Pawtucket, and Greg Birmingham of Pawtucket; fifteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 9am from the COSTIGAN-O'NEILL Funeral Home, 220 Cottage Street, Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Saint Edward Church, Weeden Street, Pawtucket. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery.

William E. Solbrig

William E. Solbrig, 81, passed away Sunday at Eleanor Slater Hospital, Cranston.
Born in Providence he was the son of the late Ernest and Helen (Burns) Solbrig. Mr.
Solbrig was in the US Navy serving during WWII.
He is survived by three nieces Kathleen Bogosian of CT, Doris Rinn of Pawtucket, Annamarie Rinn of West Warwick; a nephew Ronald Rinn of Providence and many grandnieces and grandnephews.
A service will be held Friday at 12:30pm in the HOEY-ARPIN-WILLIAMS-KING Funeral Home, 168 Academy Avenue, Providence.
Burial with Military Honors will follow in Rhode Island Veteran's Cemetery, Exeter.
Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are 11:30-12:30pm prior to the service.
