Norman J. Desrochers

Norman J. Desrochers, 74, of Coyle Avenue, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2009.
Born in Pawtucket he was the son of the late Severin and Marie A. (Gaudreau) Desrochers.
Mr. Desrochers was a Sheet Metal Worker working for RI Ventilating Co. in Lincoln for many years before retiring.
He is survived by three sons, Normand Desrochers of FL, Jake Donald Desrochers of Pawtucket and Leo Desrochers of South Attleboro; a daughter Deborah Ann Ryan of Cumberland; a brother Rheal Desrochers of MO; a sister Jackie Beauchene of Cumberland; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Richard Desrochers.
The funeral will be held Friday at 9am from the COSTIGAN-O'NEILL Funeral Home, 220 Cottage St., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Our Lady of Consolation Church, Webster Street, Pawtucket. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. Visiting hours Thursday 5-8. George E. Menard

George E. Menard, 82, of Manton Street, passed away Monday, September 28, 2009. He was the husband of Beatrice “Bea” (St. Pierre) Church-Menard.
Born in Woonsocket he was the son of the late Paul Edward and Alexandrina (Vandal) Menard.
Mr. Menard was a US Army Veteran of WWII. Mr.
Menard was a sewing machine mechanic for 25 years, he worked at Willow Tree Farms in Attleboro and was also a custodian at Medway High School. He enjoyed playing cards, doing crosswords and was a member of the LeFoyer Club in Pawtucket.
Besides his wife he is survived by a son Richard G. Menard of Woonsocket; two daughters, Denise Ayotte of Oklahoma, Mary Field of Templeton, MA; a stepson Kevin Church of Lincoln; a sister, Regina St. Jean of North Smithfield; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was also the brother of the late Gloria Gillette.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10 am in Saint Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Saint Jean the Baptist Cemetery, Bellingham. Visitation respectfully omitted.
Janet Preston

Janet Preston, 62, of Cumberland, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2009. She was the wife of the late William Preston.
Born in New York, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Alvina (Greene) Keller.
Mrs. Preston was an insurance agent for Zurich American Insurance Company for twenty years, retiring in 1993. She was an avid sports fan, enjoyed arts and crafts, and she was known for the love she had for her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Michele Rioux, of Cumberland, three stepsons, William Preston, of Warwick, Robert Preston of Narragansett, and Bradford Preston, of West Greenwich, her sister, Barbara Harms, of Illinois, two brothers, Robert Keller, of Illinois and James Keller, of Texas, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held Friday, October 2, 2009 from 5-8pm in the O'NEILL FUNERAL HOME, 3102 Mendon Road (Rte 122), Cumberland. The funeral and burial will private.
Pasco Volpigno

Pasco Volpigno, 90, died Thursday October 8, 2009. He was the husband of the late Emily (Kozukonis) Volpigno.
Born in Providence, a lifelong resident of the city, he was the son of the late Attilio and Eugenia (Avico) Volpigno.
Mr. Volpigno was employed as a Heavy Duty Equipment Operator for the Navy Construction Battalion at Quonset Point.
He was a WWll Army veteran.
He is survived by his daughter Ann Schiboni and his grandson Stephen Schiboni. He was also the brother of John Volpigno, Mary Sheeky, Julia Sulzbacher and the late Americo Volpigno and Giaciata Carrara.
His funeral will be held Tuesday at 9AM from the Hoey-Arpin-Williams-King Funeral Home, 168 Academy Ave., Providence, RI with a Mass of Christian burial in St. Adalbert's Church, Atwells Ave. at 10AM. Calling hours are Monday 4-7PM. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. Joseph F. Garlick

Joseph F. Garlick, 85 of Lafayette St., passed away Friday, October 9 th at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of Eileen (Cobb) Garlick.
Born in Pawtucket he was the son of the late William and Mary (Tarpey) Garlick.
Mr. Garlick served in the US Army as a Sergeant in the 3 rd Battalion, 175 th Infantry Regiment. He was a salesman for Harvest and Ward Foods for thirty years and worked at Rhode Island Hospital Trust for several years before retiring.
During his vacation time, Mr. Garlick served as a Police Officer and as a volunteer for the Fire Department on Prudence Island. He was a former Elk and a member of the American Legion in North Providence.
Besides his wife he is survived by two sons, Joseph Garlick Jr. of Providence and Stephen Garlick of Pawtucket; three daughters, Margaret LeBeau of Cumberalnd, Eileen Morin of Eugene, Oregon and Ellen Garlick of Medway MA; three sisters, Teresa Harkness of Lincoln, Claire Bosma also of Lincoln and Ann Johnston of East Providence; eight grandchildren; a great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Mary Durst, Katherine Plant, William, James and Edward Garlick.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Thursday at 10am in Saint Mary Church, Pine St., Pawtucket. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Mount Saint Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Frank T. Hamilton, 86, of Roosevelt Avenue, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Ruth (Leonard) Hamilton.
Born in Lincoln he was the son of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Argue) Hamilton.
Mr. Hamilton worked as a Foreman for the City of Pawtucket Highway Department for many years, retiring in 1985.
He is survived by a daughter, Donna Gordon, of Pawtucket; a son, John Kenny of Lincoln; four grandchildren, Erin Gordon of South Kingston, Amanda Marshall of Lincoln, Jessica Mendes of Pawtucket, and Dean Kenny also of Lincoln and four great grandchildren, Zachary, Aidan, Lucas and Ava. Jack Michael Guerin

Jack Michael Guerin, died peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at his home in Woonsocket, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
He was born in Providence, RI on July 10, 2000. He attended Leo A Savoie Elementary School. Prior to his illness, he played baseball for the East Woonsocket Little League.
He loved being out doors with his buddies and enjoyed spending time in northern New Hampshire fishing and 4-wheeling with his family and friends on Lake Umbagog.
He was the beloved son of Michael and Mandy (Bisson) Guerin and brother of Kyra. He is survived by paternal grandparents, Norman and Louise (Bouchard) Guerin of Berlin, NH. Aunt Missey and Uncle John Simmons and cousin Riley of Windham, NH. Maternal grandparents, Gary and Deborah (Piper) Bisson of Errol, NH. Uncle Caleb Bisson of Manchester, NH and Aunt Leslie and Uncle Sam Bisson of Keene, NH. He also leaves behind his grandparents Randall and Kim Labnon. He is also survived by many great aunts and uncles and cousins.
Friends may call at the O'NEILL FUNERAL HOME, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland, RI. from 4 PM until 8PM on Friday, November 6, 2009. A celebration of life will be held in Four Corners Community Chapel, 200 Angell Road, Cumberland, RI Saturday at 10am. Burial will be private.
