May Robidou, 81, passed away Monday, September 29, 2008. She was the wife of the late George Robidou.
She is survived by 3 sons, George, Dennis, and Charles Robidou, a daughter, Betty Robidou, and a brother, George Hinz.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours Friday, October 3, 2008 in the Costigan-O'Neill Funeral Home, 220 Cottage St., Pawtucket from 9-11am. Burial will follow in RI Veterans Cemetery.
George Haslip Sr.

George Haslip Sr.,80, US Navy Retired, of Rehoboth, MA died Tuesday, September 30, 2008. Born in Central Falls, he was son of the late Alexander & Helena (McDermott) Haslip.
He was the husband of Isabelle (DelPadre) Haslip of Rehoboth. He was the father of John, Cheryl and George Haslip, Jr.
He leaves 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren and a sister Mrs. Robert (Carol Haslip) Turner, several nieces & nephews.
His Funeral Service will be held Friday at 11 am in the O'Neill Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland. Relatives and Friends are invited. Visiting hours Thursday 6-8 pm. Burial with Military Honors will follow in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
Georgina M. (Friel) Monteiro

Georgina M. (Friel) Monteiro, 68, of Sleepy Hollow Drive, passed away peacefully, Friday, October 3, 2008 at home. She was the beloved wife of Bernardino A. Monteiro.
Born in Millinocket, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Vivian (Graham) Friel.
Mrs. Monteiro graduated from St. Martin's High School in 1958 as Class Valedictorian graduated from Mont-Joli Teachers College, Quebec, Canada in 1960.
She was a School Teacher for many years in Blanc Sablon Labrador, Canada where she also developed and implemented social programs for the local population. She graduated from Aquinas Institute, Dubuque, Iowa with a Masters Degree in Human Relations in 1975.
She implemented the “Friendly Visitation Program” in her position as the Aging Services Specialist, Department of Aging, Oleans, NY. She was the Director of the Day Activity Center and Coordinator of Rehabilitation Services at Mental Health Services in Cranston. She later became the Director of Activities at the Louis Feinstein Alzheimer's Center, retiring in1997.
Georgina was a kind and gentle person yet strong in conviction to help the disadvantaged.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two stepdaughters, Julie Murnin of Cumberland, and Donna Victor of Deerfield Beach, Florida, a stepson, Christopher Monteiro of Coventry, two sisters, Gloria Spaulding and Joyce Baron, both of Maine. She was the sister of the late Edward Friel.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 9am from the O'NEILL FUNERAL HOME, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Saint John Vianney Church, 3609 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours Wednesday, 5.00 - 8:00pm.
J. Edward “Poppy” Charland

J. Edward “Poppy” Charland, 87, of Cranston and formerly of Pawtucket, passed away Monday, October 06, 2008 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence. He was the husband of the late Dorothy (Francis) Charland.
Mr. Charland lived most of his life in Pawtucket before moving to Cranston in 1985.
He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II.
He was the owner of J.E. Charland Oil Company of Pawtucket for many years, retiring in 1986.
He is survived by two sons, Joseph Charland of Cranston and Edward Charland of Florida, four daughters, Jean Litton of North Carolina, Robin Andrade of S. Easton, MA, Diane Lanoie of N. Attleboro, MA, and Dorothy McNamara of N. Providence, 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was the father of the late Patricia Charland. He was the brother of the late Albert and Raymond Charland.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 9am from the COSTIGAN-O'NEILL Funeral Home, 220 Cottage Street, Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Sacred Heart Church, 38 Park Street, Pawtucket. Burial with military honors will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8pm. Nicholas Gallo

Nicholas Gallo, 85, of S. Attleboro, passed away Monday, October 6, 2008 at the Veteran's Medical Center, Providence.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Vincent and Carmella (Infantolino) Gallo.
Mr. Gallo was a Baggage Man for the Railroad for 22 years, retiring in 1970.
He was an army veteran of World War II. He was a member of VFW, Eugene Lefebvre Post #1271.
He leaves no immediate survivors. He was the brother of the late Ernest Gallo.
A Service will be held Friday at 10am in the COSTIGAN-O'NEILL FUNERAL HOME, 220 Cottage Street, Pawtucket. Burial with military honors will be in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation Friday 9-10am, prior to the service.
Robert H. Newman Sr.

Robert H. Newman Sr., 87, of Ledge Street, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at Memorial Hospital, Pawtucket. He was the husband of Alice (Sharkey) Newman. Mr. & Mrs. Newman have lived in Central Falls since 1965.
He graduated from the University of Alabama. He was an Attorney in private practice for many years maintaining offices in Central Falls and Pawtucket, retiring in 1986.
He also was a math Teacher for the Pawtucket School Department, a former city solicitor and council member for the city of Central Falls. He volunteered for the RI Bar Association. He was a member of Rehoboth Country Club where he enjoyed playing golf, he also was a ham radio operator.
He was an army Air Force Veteran, receiving both the Purple Heart and Silver Star.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Robert, Thomas, and Michael Newman, three daughters, Linda Sypek, Joanne and Paula Newman, a sister, Robin Wright of Georgia, seven grandchildren, one great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Albert and William Newman, Nancy Shuford and Bonnie Wooten.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 8:30am from the COSTIGAN-O'NEILL FUNERAL HOME, 220 Cottage Street, Pawtucket, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:30am in Saint Basil The Great Church, Skyview Drive, Lincoln. Burial with military honors will be in Saint Basil Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours in the funeral home, Friday 3-7pm. Linda D. (Darby) Keats

Linda D. (Darby) Keats, 71, of Providence, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2008 at Hallworth House, Providence. She was the beloved wife of Lester B. Keats.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Lucille (Coller) Darby. She had lived in Barrington, Rumford, and Cranston until most recently living in Providence at Laurelmead.
She was a past member of Edgewood Yacht Club and its Auxiliary, holding many offices in both. She was Past President of the Emma Pendleton Bradley Hospital Auxiliary and a corporate member of Bradley Hospital. She was a board member and House Manager of the Barrington Players and a member of the Rhode Island Cerebral Palsy Telethon Committee serving as the telethon's Celebrity Chair from 1975 to 1993.
She and her husband were adoptive parents through Childreach since 1986, and a Rhode Island Meals on Wheels volunteer for 13 years. She volunteered also with the Friendly Visitor program from the Barrington Senior Center in 1999. She was a member of the Corporation of St. Andrew's School, Barrington. She is survived by her husband, Lester B. Keats, her cousins, Sally Knowles, Barbara Norberg, Judie Lyte, Thelma Yeagley, and Dr. Anthony Darby.
A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at 11:30am in the Swan Point Cemetery Chapel. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends are invited and may call 10:30-11:30am, prior to the service at Swan Point Chapel.
