George T. Cherry
September 1, 2008

George T. Cherry, 80, of Coeur d' Alene, Idaho and formerly of Pawtucket, passed away Monday, September 1, 2008 at his home. He was the husband of Frances (Messier) Cherry.

Born on September 22, 1927 in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late James and Sarah (McNulty) Cherry. George was a life long resident of Pawtucket before moving to Coeur d' Alene, Idaho four years ago to be closer to his grandchildren.

George served in the U. S. Army on occupation duty of Japan from 1946 to his completion of service in 1947. Upon return from the service he later started the C&O Roofing Construction Company of Pawtucket and was a respected general contractor for over fifty years.

He was a past officer of the Pawtucket Boys Club, a proud member of the To Kalon Club, Pawtucket, a member of Saint Theresa Church, as well as its golf team and a member of St Thomas Church, Coeur d' Alene, Idaho.

He excelled at baseball as a youth and later in life golf and bowling (as many of his opponents can attest). He was a devoted, and thankfully a no longer suffering, Boston Red Sox fan.

Besides his wife of “43 glorious years”, he is survived by two sons, Sean Cherry and his wife Raini of Coeur d' Alene, Idaho and James Cherry of Sandpoint, Idaho; four sisters, Veronica Beaulieu of E. Providence, Theresa Nacci, Hazel Audette, and Jane Langlois, all of Pawtucket. A brother, Harold Cherry of New Hampshire, four grandchildren, Reilly, Tarryn, Reagan, and Avrey. He was the preceded in death by his daughter Dawn and son Joseph, his brothers James, Joseph and Edward Cherry, his sisters Mary Grezik, Eilene Land, and Alice Snow.

The funeral will be held Thursday, September 11, 2008 at 9AM from the Costigan-O'Neill Funeral Home, 220 Cottage Street, Pawtucket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Saint Teresa Church, 358 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are Wednesday, 5-8pm. At Costigan-O'Neill Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice of North Idaho, 9493 N. Government Way, Coeur d' Alene ID, 83815, would be appreciated.

Joseph Morgan
September 4, 2008

Joseph Morgan , 85 of Aurora Drive, passed away Thursday, September 4, 2008. He was the husband of the late Mary Morgan. They were happily married for 40 years.

Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Thomas and Anne (Sullivan) Morgan. He had lived in Pawtucket nearly all of his life, before moving to Cumberland last year.

Mr. Morgan was a Probation Officer for the State of Rhode Island for 35 years, retiring in 1983. He was an Army Veteran of World War II, stationed in Paris, France.

He was the president of the Rhode Island Historical and Genealogical Society for many years.

He was also a communicant and a Eucharistic minister at Saint Joseph Church in Pawtucket.

He is survived by two daughters, Sheila Field and her husband Calvin Field, of Seekonk MA, and Anne Avelar and her husband Jose Avelar, of Cumberland; four grandchildren, Jonathan and Thomas Field and Daniel and Molly Avelar.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 10am in Saint Joseph Church, Walcott Street, Pawtucket. Burial will be in Mount Saint Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his honor to the American Heart Association, 275 Westminster St. Providence, RI 02903. Arrangements by the O'NEILL FUNERAL HOME, Cumberland.

Harold V. Carey
September 4, 2008

Harold V. Carey, 84, of Sleepy Hollow Drive, passed away peacefully, Thursday, September 4, 2008 at North Bay Manor, Smithfield. He was the husband of Helen Carey. They were happily married for 61 years.

Born in Wakefield, MA, he was the son of the late John and Margaret (Doyle) Carey. Mr. Carey was in sales and management in the metals business for 30 years, retiring in 1989. He was a navy veteran of World War II and Korea.

Mr. and Mrs. Carey had lived in Yarmouth, MA before moving to Cumberland in 2003 to be closer to their daughter, Janice, her husband, Kevin Keough, and their granddaughter, Jessica.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, N. Quincy Council, VFW, Yarmouth Post, CYO Drum and Bugle Corp., Dorchester, MA, Coordinator of Drum and Bugle Corp. – Mayflower circuit, Iron Golf League, Cambridge, MA, and past president of the Father's Club, Regis College, Weston, MA.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, September 13, 2008 at 10am in Saint John Vianney Church, 3609 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland. Burial with military honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Care of RI, 169 George Street, Pawtucket, RI, 02860, would be appreciated.

Dona A. Dugal
September 6, 2008

Dona A. Dugal, 78, of Woonsocket and formerly of Pawtucket, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2008 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence. He was the husband of Pauline (Beaudry) Dugal.

Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late George and Jennie (Clausse) Dugal.

Mr. Dugal was a mechanic for the Auto Show of Seekonk, MA for several years, retiring in 1998.

Besides his wife, he leaves his former wife, Dorothy (Wunschell) Dugal, a son, David Dugal of New Hampshire, a daughter, Diane Bynum of Cranston, three step daughters, Donna Bell of Pawtucket, Kim Marie Bell of New Hampshire, and Tammy West of Pawtucket, two sisters, Mary St. George of Pawtucket, and Frances Bourgeous of Pawtucket, and eight step grandchildren.

Mr. Dugal was one of the first mechanic's of Leonard Ink D.B.A. Auto Show of Seekonk, Mass. for over 30 years, Retiring in 1998. He also did some Modeling with Mr. Leonard thru the Donahue Modeling Agency.

Thru the years Don had a LOVE for OLD CARS.

He loved breathing new life into old cars that needed him.

He could not pass a JUNK YARD without bringing one home.

There are maybe 500 cars he has fixed for friends and family members that are still on the road today.

Don also belonged to the rolling Rhodes car club, The Drifters, and the Four Seasons Rambler AMCRC Car club.

Visiting hours Tuesday 5-9PM. at the COSTIGAN-O'NEILL Funeral Home, 220 Cottage Street, Pawtucket.

The funeral will be Wednesday at 9am. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Saint Teresa Church, 358 Newport Avenue Pawtucket. Burial will be private.

Reception will be held after the Funeral.

Everyone is invited to the basement of the Church for a small luncheon.

Carrie Paulison
September 9, 2008

Carrie Paulison, 93, of Flat Street, passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket.

She was the wife of the late Michael Paulison.

Born in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Barbara (Fostyk) Gorda.

Mrs. Paulison had lived most of her life in Manville before moving to Cumberland in 1998.

She had worked in the Textile Industry for several years before retiring.

She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Beaubien of Cumberland and Patsy L. Dumas of Manville, five grandchildren, Jason and Jeffrey Beaubien, Timothy and Corey Dumas, and Melanie Mendall.

She also leaves five great grandchildren.

She was the sister of the late Olga Dunayeski and Stasia Gorda.

The funeral will be held Monday, September 15, 2008 at 9am from the O'NEILL FUNERAL HOME, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland, followed by a Service at 10am in Holy Dormition Orthodox Church, 71 Manville Hill Road, Cumberland.

Burial will be in Saint Stephen's Cemetery, Manville.

Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours Sunday 4-7pm followed by a Prayer Service for the Departed at 7pm in the Funeral Home.

Isabel Rule
September 11, 2008

Isabel Rule, of Cumberland, passed away Thursday, September 11, 2008 at Miriam Hospital, Providence.

She was the wife of the late Francis J. Rule.

Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Isabel (Leonard) Partridge.

Mrs. Rule was a floor supervisor for the former J&K Sales of Pawtucket for 35 years before retiring.

She had lived in Cumberland since 1964.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Bureau and her husband Joe of Cumberland.

She also leaves several nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Mary Conlon, Rita Haggerty, Rachel Gormly, Matthew and Russell Partridge.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10:30am in Saint Aidan Church, Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland.

Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.

In lieu in of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity.

Arrangements by Costigan-O'Neill Funeral Home, Pawtucket.
