Melvin Wasserman

Melvin Wasserman, 87, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2008 at Hopkins Manor, North Providence.
He was the husband of the late Ruth (Goldsman) Wasserman and the late Beatrice (Shechtman) Wasserman.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Harry and Frances (Mandell) Wasserman.
He was an army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Wasserman was an advertising executive for several years before retiring in 1982.
He is survived by a son, David Wasserman and his wife Claudia Scenna of Somerville, MA, and a daughter, Frances Wasserman of Warwick.
The funeral and burial will be private.

Alexander Alberico

Alexander Alberico, 75, of Golden Crest Nursing Centre and formerly of Canton Street, Providence, died Sunday, June 15, 2008 at the Centre.
Mr. Alberico was a Plant Superintendent for Kendall Medical Supplies in Walpole.
He was husband of the late Anne E. (Murphy) Alberico. Born in Walpole, MA, he was son of the late Pasquale & Edith (Massarotti) Alberico.
He leaves a daughter, Elizabeth Pestana of North Providence and a son, William A. Alberico of Warwick and three wonderful grandchildren.
He also leaves a brother, Pasquale Alberico of Marshall, VA and a sister, Carol Connors of Stotsylvania, VA and was brother of the late Alba Chevalier and Marie Wallace.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 9am from the Hoey-Arpin-Williams-King Funeral Home, 168 Academy Avenue, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, Fourth Street, N. Providence Relatives and friends are invited.
Visitation Wednesday from 9 – 10:30 am, prior to the mass.
Rev. Msgr Robert C. Newbold

Rev. Msgr Robert C. Newbold, 87, of Providence, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2008 at Scalabrini Villa, North Kingstown.
Born in Bristol, he was the son of the late Robert and Helen (Hogan) Newbold.
He graduated from Saint Bernard's Seminary with a Bachelor of Arts in 1945, Notre Dame University with a Masters degree in History, 1950 and a PHD in History in 1952.
He also graduated from South East Massachusetts School of Law. Msgr.
Newbold was the Dean & Vice Rector of the Seminary of Our Lady of Providence, Warwick, the former Rector of Our Lady of Providence Preparatory Seminary, Providence, former Pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Church from 1986-2000.
He was the former Director of Diocesan of Office of Government Liaison, the former Executive Director of the Rhode Island Interscholastic League for 26 years, he was an original member of the State of RI Ethics Commission, previously served on the Conflict of Interest Commission, Member of the Massachusetts and American Bar Association, former Vice President of the National Federation of State High School Associations, former President of the New England Council, a member of the Rhode Island Heritage Hall of Fame.
He is survived by a brother, Raymond Newbold and his wife Margaret of Narragansett, five nieces and one nephew.
He was the brother of the late Francis Newbold.
A concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, June 20, 2008 at 10am in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 901 Atwells Avenue, Providence.
Burial will be in Saint Mary's Cemetery, Bristol. Visiting hours will be held Thursday 5-7pm in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, followed by a Wake Service at 7pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Our Lady of Lourdes Memorial Fund, 901 Atwells Avenue, Providence, RI, 02909 would be appreciated.

Evelyn T. (Beattie) Farrell

Evelyn T. (Beattie) Farrell, 79, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother died peacefully at Haven Health Center of Greenville on Monday, June 23.
She was the beloved wife of the late John J. “Jiggs” Farrell for 57 years.
She was born in Providence, the daughter of the late John and Kate (Paul) Beattie.
She leaves behind a legacy of love which includes a son; Michael J. Farrell and his wife Cynthia of Charlestown, and 3 daughters; Kathleen Speakman and her husband Paul of North Providence, Diane Mosca and her husband Gerald of Glocester, and Lynn Farrell of North Providence.
She was the proud grandmother to Jean Johnson, Elaine Vorro, Joseph Carlucci, Michael & Adam Farrell, Christopher Speakman, Greggory Farrell, Benjamin Speakman and Lauren & Jeffrey Mosca and great-grandmother to Kayla Li Farrell, twins, Lily Evelyn & Laryssa Danis Farrell and Gabriel Lake, Jr.
She was the sister of the late John, James and Dorothy Beattie.
Mom was a crossing guard for the Providence Police Department and member of Local 1033 for over 30 years.
In her retirement, she enjoyed entertaining all.
She was a member of the Salvatore Mancini Resource and Activity Center and an enthusiastic member of the Happy Notes.
She touched the lives of many with her keen sense of humor and quick wit.
She will be sorely missed.
Her funeral will be held Saturday at 8:30am from the Hoey-Arpin-Williams-King Funeral Home, 168 Academy Avenue, Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 1804 Atwood Avenue, Johnston at 10:00am.
Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
Relatives and friends are invited and may visit Friday 5-8pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Robert Bellarmine Food Closet, 1804 Atwood Avenue, Johnston would be appreciated.
Christina (Cataloni) Rocheleau

Christina (Cataloni) Rocheleau, 82, of Cumberland, passed away Monday, June 23, 2008 at Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket.
She was the wife of the late Robert Rocheleau.
Born in Foxboro, MA, she was the daughter of the late John and Eleanora (Gaeta) Cataloni.
Mrs. Rocheleau was a bookkeeper for World Wide Investigations of Cumberland for several years before retiring.
She had lived in Cumberland for the last 40 years.
She is survived by a son, Robert Rocheleau of Lincoln, two daughters, Denise Russo of N. Grafton, MA, and Lisa Rocheleau of Cumberland, two sisters, Menta Alves of Norton, MA and Marguerite Kashtan of W. Mansfield, MA, two grandchildren, Stephanie Lerp and Tara Fitzpatrick.
The funeral and burial were private.

Helen F. McMaugh (81) of Veazie Street, Providence died Monday, June 30th at Miriam Hospital, Providence.
She was a Dietary Service worker at the VA Hospital Providence for 22 years before retiring.
Born in Providence she was daughter of the late Vaness and Bertha (Tanner) Bowers.
She leaves 4 Children: Donna M. O'Connor, North Providence, Raymond A McMaugh and his wife Nancy, of Providence, Deborah A. O'Neil of New Durham, NH, and Robin A. Wheeler of North Providence, 8 Grandchildren and one Great-grandaughter.
She leaves a brother Sylvester Bowers of Pahrump, Nevada and was sister of the late Elizabeth Smith and Louise Corrente and also was the Loving Friend of Joseph Finegan of Providence.
Her Funeral will be held Thursday at 8:30 from the Hoey-Arpin-Williams-King Funeral Home, 168 Academy Avenue with a Requiem Mass in St. Peter & Andrew Church, Pomona Avenue at 9:30 am.

Kevin T. Forde, 58, of Albion, RI, passed away peacefully, Friday, July 11, 2008 surrounded by his loving family.
He was the loving husband of Clare (Meley) Forde.
Born in Brighton, MA, he was the son of the late Roger and Josephine (Wynn) Forde. Besides his wife, he was the beloved father of Genevieve Forde of S. Boston, MA.
He also leaves his beloved sister, Maureen Quinlan and her husband Paul of Warwick, RI, his devoted brother, John Forde and his wife Sharon of Sudbury, MA, two nephews, Christopher Forde and Thomas Ducey, four nieces, Natasha Buckley, Annemarie Ring, Kathleen Bukowski, and Andrea Garipay, and eight great nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Monday, July 14, 2008 at 9:45am from the O'NEILL FUNERAL HOME, 3102 Mendon Road (Rte 122),Cumberland, RI, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in Saint Ambrose Church, 191 School Street, Albion, RI.
Burial will be private. Relatives and friends are invited.
