Nina Ryder

Nina Ryder, of Deerfield Road, died Sunday, March 9, 2008 at home. She was the wife of the late John L. Ryder.
Born in Central Falls, she was the daughter of the late Konstantin and Mary (Efimiec) Korenuk.
Mrs. Ryder had lived in Cumberland for the last 34 years.
She graduated from Kings County Hospital School of Nursing, Brooklyn, New York and from Boston University.
She was a World War II army veteran. She was a nursing supervisor for a number of Veterans Medical Centers in Massachusetts and Rhode Island for several years, retiring in 1978. She was a longtime member of the Women's Society, the choir, the Adult Fellowship and served on several boards of the Wesley United Methodist Church, Lincoln.
She is survived by a niece, Irene Tuchapsky of Cumberland, and a nephew, Paul Tuchapsky of North Kingstown.
She was the sister of the late Sonia Tuchapsky and Olga Gagnon.
A Service will be held Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 11am in the Wesley United Methodist Church, 55 Woodland Street, Lincoln, RI, 02865. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wesley United Methodist Church John L. Ryder Trust Fund, in memory of Mrs. Ryder, would be appreciated. Arrangements by the O'Neill Funeral Home, Cumberland.
Joseph Wood

Joseph Wood, 87, of Woonsocket, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2008 at Oakland Grove Nursing Home.
He was the husband of Ida B. (Lewiska) Wood.
Born in Central Falls, he was the son of the late Joseph and Alice (Simons) Wood.
Mr. Wood was a chemist in the manufacturing industry for 40 years before retiring.
He was a World War II navy veteran.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Bruce Wood of San Francisco, CA, Brian Wood of Spartanburg, SC, and John Wood of Cassville, WV, a sister, Muriel Mee of Ocala, FL, and two grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, March 13, 2008 at 10am in Saint Joan of Arc Church, 3357 Mendon Road, Cumberland. Burial will be in Moshassuck Cemetery, Central Falls.
Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Arrangements by O'Neill Funeral Home, Cumberland.
Susan Burke-Scofield

Susan Burke-Scofield, 56, of Evaleen Street, died Friday, March 7, 2008 at home.
Born in Central Falls, she was the daughter of Alice (St. Laurent) Burke of Central Falls and the late Martin Burke Jr..
Susan was the owner of the former Susan Burke's School of Dance for several years, retiring in 1998.
She was a lifelong resident of Central Falls.
Besides her mother, she is survived by three sons, James Scofield of Central Falls, Jason Scofield of East Providence, and Nicholas Scofield of Central Falls, three sisters, Lori Wildenhain of Lincoln, Nancy Labbe of Lehigh Acres, Florida, and Barbara Soucy of Massachusetts, two grandchildren, Kayla and Ryan Scofiled. She also leaves her life mate, Nicholas Villella of Warwick.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours Tuesday, March 11, 2008 from 10am to 12pm in the COSTIGAN-O'NEILL FUNERAL HOME, 220 Cottage Street, Pawtucket, followed by a committal service in the Chapel in Mount Saint Mary Cemetery.
Emile J. Chagnon

Emile J. Chagnon, 88, of Washington Street, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at Oak Hill Nursing Home, Pawtucket. He was the husband of Doris (Boucher) Chagnon.
Born in Blackstone, MA, he was the son of the late George and Anna (Bacon) Chagnon.
Mr. Chagnon was a World War II army veteran. He worked in the Highway Department for the City of Central Falls for several years before retiring in 1981.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Richard Chagnon and his wife Rita of North Providence and Raymond Chagnon and his wife Kathleen of Cumberland, a sister, Doris Burgess of Bedford, New Hampshire, four grandsons, David, Jason, Scott, and Christopher Chagnon, and a great grandson, Tyler Chagnon. He was the brother of the late Louis and Lionel Chagnon.
The funeral will be held Monday at 8:30am from the COSTIGAN-O'NEILL FUNERAL HOME, 220 Cottage Street, Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in Saint Matthew Church, Dexter Street, Central Falls. Burial with military honors will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours Sunday 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to Sister Bea's Ministries, 1030 Dexter Street, Central Falls, RI, 02863, in memory of Mr. Chagnon would be appreciated.
Elizabeth F. (Carroll) Tetrault

Elizabeth F. (Carroll) Tetrault, 103, died Friday, February 29, 2008 at Cherry Hill Manor, Johnston, where she was lovingly cared for. She was the wife of the late Conrad W. Tetrault. They were happily married for 65 years.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Elizabeth (Coolahan) Carroll. Mrs. Tetrault had lived most of her life in Providence.
She is survived by three sons, Conrad, Joseph, and Reverend Raymond Tetrault, two daughters-in-law, Maria O Tetrault, who loving cared for her, and Mary Lou Tetrault, seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was the mother of the late Irene Meenagh and Leon Tetrault. She was the sister of the late Mary and Helen Carroll, Kathleen Kennedy, and Monsignor Daniel Carroll.
A Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, March 5, 2008 at 10am in Saint Teresa of Avila Church, Manton Avenue, Providence. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours Monday 4-8pm in the HOEY-ARPIN-WILLIAMS-KING Funeral Home, 168 Academy Avenue, Providence. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made the Catholic Charity Fund, St. Teresa's Parish, in memory of Mrs. Tetrault.
Raghima Arage

Raghima Arage, 99, passed away peacefully Friday, February 29, 2008 at Heritage Hills Nursing Home, Smithfield. She was the wife of the late John Arage. Born in Aleppo, Syria, she was the daughter of the late Salim and Jamileh (Sikh) Cabbabe.
She lived most of her life in Central Falls before moving to Smithfield in 2001.
Mrs. Arage was a seamstress for over 30 years for the former Pawtucket Dress Company before retiring in 1974. She was a member of the former St. Ann Society, the Aleppian Aid Society, Ladies Auxiliary and a long time parishioner of Saint Basil's Church.
She is survived by three sons, Norman, Albert, and Edward Arage, two daughters, May Azar and Shirley Sullivan, 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Michel and Mountahah Cabbabe, Jeanette Chouha, Alice Mashata, Nacima Charchafliah, and Juliette Melkoun.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Monday, March 3, 2008 at 10am in Saint Basil The Great Church, 15 Skyview Drive, Lincoln. Burial will be in Saint Basil's Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours Sunday 4-7pm in St. Basil's Church. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Basil's Building Fund, would be appreciated. Arrangements by Costigan-O'Neill Funeral Home, Pawtucket.
Eileen B. Hagerty

Eileen B. Hagerty (80), of Gentian Avenue, Providence died Wednesday at Rhode Island Hospital. Mrs. Hagerty was the wife of George A. Hagerty, Jr. (Ret. PFD). They were happily married for 59 years.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Ovide and Mary Christine (Rogers) Grant. Mrs. Hagerty was the former Household Manager at St. Augustine's Church for several years.
Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Eileen B. Battison with who she lived and was mother of the late Lt. George A. Hagerty, III (PFD). She also leaves three grandchildren, Dawn M. Carroll, David A. & Amy E. Battison all of Providence, and three great-grandchildren.
The Funeral will be held Saturday at 9 am from the Hoey-Arpin-Williams-King Funeral Home, 168 Academy Avenue with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Augustine's Church,Mt. Pleasant Avenue at 10 am. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, West Greenwich.
Relatives and Friends are invited. Visiting Hours will be Friday 6-8 pm.
