Cumberland - Florence M. Desroches, 66, of Sleepy Hollow Dr. died Monday in the Miriam Hospital, Providence. She was the beloved wife of Marcel A. Desroches.
Born in Woonsocket she was the daughter of the late Maurice P. and Rita E. (Arpin) Duplessis. She resided in Cumberland for the past forty two years.
She was employed at the Woonsocket Cinema for ten years and previously employed by the former R. N. Koch Co., North Providence for many years.
She was a communicant of St. John Vianney Church, Cumberland and was active for many years as a CCD Teacher and other church groups. She was also a member of the St. Anthony Chorale, Woonsocket.
She was the loving mother of Marcus A. Desroches of Bellingham and Kelley Anne Dolce of Narragansett. She also leaves a brother, Maurice W. Duplessis of Cumberland. She was the devoted grandmother of Zachary, Samantha, Brandon and Mathew.
Her funeral will be held Friday at 9 a.m. from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Rd. Rt. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. John Vianney Church, Diamond Hill Rd., Cumberland. Burial will follow in St. Jean The Baptist Cemetery, Bellingham.

Normand Joseph Robichaud
1936 - 2007
Pawtucket - Normand Joseph Robichaud, also known as “Norm”, or “Red”, 71, a lifelong resident of Pawtucket, was born into eternal life Friday evening surrounded by his loving family holding him. Normand passed away after a courageous battle of pancreatic cancer. He was the husband of Colette (Joyal) Robichaud.
Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Emery and Lea (Laporte) Robichaud.
Mr. Robichaud was a life-long communicant and Eucharistic Minister of the St. John the Baptist Church, Pawtucket .
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He attended St. John the Baptist School, Sacred Heart, West High, and RI School of Design.
He was a lifetime member of the Lefoyer Club and a member of the Les Gais Chanteur for over 40 years. Normand served on the school board at Woodlawn Catholic Regional School in Pawtucket for 33 years. In his spare time he enjoyed playing golf, painting, drawing, and spending time at the barn with the family horses, George, Heaven and Dog Becca.
Mr. Robichaud was a model cutter for 27 years for Jostens in Attleboro, and then Balfour for 7 years. After his retirement in 2001, he became a dedicated volunteer as a Eucharistic minister at the Miriam Hospital in Providence where he carried on his services of comfort and prayers, love and laughter to those in need. This was a job which he especially enjoyed. Normand always loved to make others laugh and always succeeded at brightening the love of others.
Normand’s spirit will live on in the legacy of his family.
He was the adoring father to his five children who will miss him dearly: Charles E. Robichaud, Brigette A. Robichaud, Aimee D. Robichaud, Denis A. Robichaud, and Elise M. Robichaud. He also leaves several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends, all of whom cherished his love. He was the brother of the late George Robichaud, Cecile Hamel, and Yvette Clement.
His funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 AM from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland . Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in the St. John the Baptist Church, 69 Quincy Avenue, Pawtucket . Burial will follow in the Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket . Kathleen A. Thibeault

Cumberland - Kathleen A. Thibeault, 56, of Diamond Hill Rd., died Thursday in R. I. Hospital, Providence. She was the beloved wife of Jay Mitchell.
Born in Jamesburg, NJ she was the daughter of the late Martin J. and Alfreda (Suraski) Dobenski. She had resided in Cumberland since 1978 and had previously lived in Attleboro and Cape Cod.
She had worked caring for the elderly for many years and had also worked in the retail community.
Kathleen was a loving and devoted wife. She and her husband Jay were marred for the past 31 years. She truly enjoyed their time together at home and on Cape Cod. She loved her extended family, friends and enjoyed nature and animals.
Besides her loving husband she leaves a sister, Dena Arrison and nephews Christopher and James Arrison of Newtown, PA. She also leaves several other cousins, nieces, nephews, sister's and brothers in law. She is also survived by her loving uncle and aunt, Walter and Florence Wawrzynski of Jamesburg, NJ.
Her funeral services will be held Sunday at 10 a.m. in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Rd. Rt. 122, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Clarinda J. Breault

CUMBERLAND - Clarinda J. (Cartier) Breault, 87, formerly of 23 Southwood Drive, Cumberland, passed away in the Oakland Grove Health Center, Woonsocket. She was the wife of the late Aldor E. Breault.
Born in Albion, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Hermelia (Gagnon) Cartier.
Mrs. Breault worked in the Textile industry in the Blackstone Valley area for many years. Mrs. Breault was most recently employed by AT Cross Inc., of Lincoln for many years until her retirement in 1982.
She was a communicant of St. Joan of Arc Church, Mendon Road, Cumberland. She was a member of the St. Joan of Arc Seniors, and a member of the Owens Corning Fiberglass Retirement Association.
She leaves two daughters, Claire Mongeon and Gloria Drolet, both of Cumberland; one sister Exina Sullivan of Pawtucket; four grandsons,; Mark Mongeon II, Geoffrey Mongeon, Nathan Drolet, and Matthew Drolet, all of Cumberland; one granddaughter, Danielle Drolet of Cumberland; and four great-grandchildren; Brooke Mongeon, Mallory Mongeon, Jacob Mongeon, and Cole Gibbons. She was the sister of the late Lionel Cartier.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 9 AM from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt.122, Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM in St. Joan of Arc Church, Mendon Road, Cumberland. Burial will follow in the Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. George F. Pytka Sr.

Cumberland - George F. Pytka Sr., 59, of Broad St. died Thursday at home. He was the beloved husband of Christy (Gendron) Pytka.
Born in Central Falls he was the son of Julian "Ukey" Pytka of Cumberland and the late Verna (Merow) Pytka.
He was employed by the Ann & Hope, Cumberland for 12 years until his retirement.
Besides his wife he leaves three sons, Russell Pytka of Woonsocket, Brian Pytka of Cumberland and George F. Pytka Jr. of Central Falls. Two daughters, Tina Pytka and Nicole Pytka both of Cumberland. One brother, Wayne Pytka and a sister Sandra Morin both of Cumberland.

Gerard "Foot" Therrien

Albion - Gerard "Foot" Therien, 55, of School St. died Friday in the R. I. Hospital, Providence.
Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Pierre A. and Rita (Baril) Therrien. He resided in Albion for the past 26 years.
He was an equipment manager employed by Alliance Rental Co., Walpole, MA for the past year and had previously been employed by the Modern Continental Co., Stoughton, MA for over 30 years.
He leaves a daughter Renee Therrien and a son, Pierre Therrien both of Albion. Two sisters, Helen Laramee and Alice McIntyre both of Cumberland. Two grandchildren, Briana Therrien and Kelsey Blass both of Albion. He was also the brother of the late Eva Plante.

Jeanne H. Jameson

Pawtucket - Jeanne H. Jameson, 61, of Field St. died Saturday at home. She was the beloved wife of Kenneth R. Jameson.
Born in Pawtucket she was the daughter of the late Leo and Madeline (Girouard) Malo. She resided in Pawtucket for the past thirty eight years.
She was employed by the former Cadillac Textile Co., Cumberland for twenty two years retiring in 1986.
She was active for many years with the Darlington American Little League. She was also an avid bowler belonging to the Southeast Container Fun League.
Besides her husband she leaves a son, Kevin R. Jameson and his wife Sandra and a daughter, Joyce L. Jameson all of Pawtucket. One brother, Roger Malo of Niceville, FL and a grandson, Kyle Jameson of Pawtucket.

Cumberland - Lillian M. Onoyan, 87, of Sumner Brown Rd. died Monday in Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, North Providence. She was the wife of the late Garabed G. Onoyan.
Born in Pawtucket she was the daughter of the late Michael and Ida (Matook) Abgrab. She resided in Cumberland for the past 47 years previously residing in Central Falls.
She was employed by the Dante Jewelry Co., Attleboro for 7 years retiring in 1976.
She was a communicant of St. Vartanatz Church, Providence and a member of the Sher le Mon Swim Club, Cumberland. She was a sun worshiper and loved sewing and knitting.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother for whom family always came first. She leaves two daughters, Debra A. Wolowicz and Sandra M. Dawson both of Cumberland. One son, Michael P. Onoyan of North Smithfield. One brother, Abraham Abgrab of Westport. She also leaves seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren., several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Paul M. and Gary Onoyan and the sister of the late Isabel George, Anna Slemon, Rose Hasso, Mary Kassab, Joe Abgrab and Albert Abgrab.

Rose V. Swec

CUMBERLAND - Rose V. (Baldyga) Szwec, 97, formerly of Cumberland passed away in the Rhode Island Hospital, on Monday. She was the wife of the late Anthony Szwec.
Born in West Warren, MA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Andrzejczyk) Baldyga. She resided in Cumberland for most of her life.
Mrs. Szwec was co-owner with her husband of A & R Watch Repair Shop in Pawtucket for 33 years until her retirement.
She was a communicant of the St. Aidan Church, a member of the former Polish White Eagles Ladies Auxiliary, the St. Aidan Woman’s Club, and the Cornerstone Adult Senior Services Center, Warwick.
She leaves two sons, Eugene Szwec and Anthony Szwec both of Florida; two daughters, Sandra Dandeneau of North Scituate, and Rosalie Harris of East Greenwich; one sister, Irene Parker of Portland, ME; seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Walter Baldyga, Joseph Baldyga, and Helen Nobis.
Her funeral will be held Monday at 9 AM from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt.1 22, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Aidan Church, Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland.
