HELEN G. MORRIS - Pawtucket

HELEN G. MORRIS, 87, of Wildflowers Health Care by the Water, in Smithfield, and formerly of Johnston and Pawtucket, a former nursing-home owner and retired licensed practical nurse, died yesterday in the nursing home.

Born in Mansfield, Mass., a daughter of the late Leon and Nellie (Fisher) Holmes, she had lived in Pawtucket for most of her life, and also had lived in Johnston, before she moved to Smithfield six months ago.

The owner of the former Muriel Renview Resthaven Nursing Home, in Warwick, for six years, until she retired in 1971, she had previously worked as an LPN at Rhode Island Hospital, in Providence.

Ms. Morris was a member and former treasurer of the Woodlawn Senior Citizens, and a former member of the Notre Dame Senior Citizens and of the Women of the Moose, in South Attleboro.

She was an avid bingo player.

She leaves two sons, John Deighan of West Warwick and Cliff Deighan of San Jose, Calif.; a brother, Albert Holmes of Spring Hill, Fla.; three grandchildren; and a niece. She was the mother of the late Edward Deighan, and the sister of the late Clifford Holmes, Ruth Jamieson and Addie Packard.

The funeral and burial will be private.

RUTH (BERRY) KAUFMAN - Providence

RUTH (BERRY) KAUFMAN, 87, of Cole Avenue, a retired teacher and social worker, died Monday at Hillside Health Center, Providence. She was the wife of the late Oscar Stillman, and of the late David Kaufman. A lifelong resident of Providence, she was the daughter of the late Morris and Bessie (Lisker) Berry.

Mrs. Kaufman was a graduate of the University of Rhode Island.

A kindergarten teacher in the Providence public school system for many years, she also had been employed by the School Department as a social worker, in the area of special education, before she retired in the early 1970s.

She loved music, horses and the theater, and was a supporter of the Rhode Island Philharmonic and the Barker Street Playhouse.

Mrs. Kaufman was a member of Temple Beth-El and its Sisterhood, the Hadassah, the National Council of Jewish Women, and the Miriam Hospital Women's Association.

She leaves a son, Michael B. Stillman of Providence. She was the sister of the late Dr. Joslin Berry.

The funeral will be held on tomorrow at 10 a.m. in Sugarman-Sinai Memorial Chapel, 458 Hope St., Providence. Burial will be in Temple Beth-El cemetery, Providence.

SALLY C. (SWARBRICK) COLACCIO - Attleboro

SALLY C. (SWARBRICK) COLACCIO, 79, of Brown Street, a retired assembler, died Sunday at Life Care Center of Attleboro. She was the wife of Albert L. Colaccio; they had been married 49 years. Born in Pawtucket, the daughter of the late Joseph and Alice (Keyes) Swarbrick, she had lived South Attleboro for 46 years.

Mrs. Colaccio had worked as an assembler for Texas Instrument Co., in Attleboro, for 20 years before retiring in 1983.

She was a past chairman of the Refreshment Committee of the PEAL Club of South Attleboro. She was a member of the Royal Travelers, in Pawtucket, and the South Attleboro Seniors.

Mrs. Colaccio was a communicant of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Church.

Besides her husband, she leaves a son, James Williams of Narragansett; a daughter, Lauren McIntyre of Belchertown, Mass.; two granddaughters; four great-granddaughters; and a great-grandson. She was the sister of the late George Keyes.

The funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from the Cheetham Mortuary, 1012 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Church, Baltic Street, South Attleboro. Burial will be in St. Stephen's cemetery, Attleboro.

MICHAEL A. PANNOZZI - Cranston

MICHAEL A. PANNOZZI, 41, of Keith Avenue and formerly of Sprague Avenue, died Saturday at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence.

A lifelong Cranston resident, he was a son of Daniel A. Pannozzi of Cranston and the late Rose (Fusco) Pannozzi. Mr. Pannozzi had been employed by American Sweeping of Andover, Mass., for the last 12 years. Besides his father, he leaves two daughters, Jamie Campbell of Coventry and Jennee Campbell of Coventry; two sons, Michael Campbell of Coventry and Andrew Pannozzi of Cranston; a sister, Virginia D. Nani of Cranston; and a grandson. He was the brother of the late Daniel A. Pannozzi Jr.

The funeral will be held Thursday at 8 a.m. from the Nardolillo Funeral Home, 1278 Park Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 in St. Matthew Church, Elmwood Avenue. Burial will be in St. Ann cemetery.

ANDREW TOOLAN - Cranston

ANDREW TOOLAN, 94, of Myrtle Avenue, a retired truck driver, died yesterday at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence.

He was the husband of the late Catherine (Dolan) Toolan. Born in County Sligo, Ireland, he was a son of the late Bartholomew and Catherine (Scott) Toolan. He had been a truck driver for Pease & Curran Co. for more than 35 years before retiring. Mr. Toolan was a communicant of St. Mark Church.

He leaves five sons, Andrew J. Toolan of Johnston, Thomas P. Toolan of Warwick, Walter F. Toolan of Cranston, John J. Toolan of Barrington and Charles M. Toolan of Bristol; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. He was the brother of the late Thomas Toolin and Mary C. and Delia Mulhern.

The funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from Woodlawn, 600 Pontiac Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Mark Church, Garden Court. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven cemetery, East Providence.

MILDRED MALONEY - Cumberland

MILDRED MALONEY, 75, of Victory Street, a retired bench worker, died Wednesday at Woonsocket Health Center. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Patrick William and Mildred (Beliveau) Maloney.

Miss Maloney had been bench worker at Bulova Co. of Providence for 25 years. She retired in 1981.

She leaves two brothers, Gerald Maloney of Cumberland and Owen Maloney of Mount Airy, N.C.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated tomorrow at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Mendon Road. Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery.

FELICIEN LUKE "PHIL" BROCHU - Cumberland

FELICIEN LUKE "PHIL" BROCHU, 91, of 15 Sumner Brown Rd., former owner of Brochu Sign Co., died yesterday at Mount St. Rita Health Center. He was the husband of Evelyn H. (DonCarlos) Brochu. Born in Attleboro, a son of the late Joseph O. and Angeline (Gagnon) Brochu, he had lived in Attleboro and in Berkley, Mass., before moving to Cumberland.

Mr. Brochu had been the owner and operator of the Brochu Sign Co. of Attleboro for 60 years, before retiring in 1988.

He was educated in Attleboro public schools and in various art and trade schools in Boston.

Mr. Brochu was a communicant of St. Stephen's Church, in Attleboro, and of St. Bernard Church, in Assonet, Mass., where he was an Eucharistic minister. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. John's Council, and had been awarded a Marian Medal by the Diocese of Fall River.

Besides his wife, he leaves six daughters, Helen E. Reagan of Orono, Maine, Constance DePetrillo of Greenville, Jeannine Fernandes of Taunton, Mass., Rita Turgeon of Attleboro, Lorraine Martin of Rehoboth and Vivian Antaya of Ashaway; two sisters, Colombe Marquis of Attleboro and Jacqueline Bedford Of Raynham, Mass.; 23 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late John Y. and Gaetan Brochu.

The funeral will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Mount St. Rita Health Center, 15 Sumner Brown Rd., with a funeral Mass at 11 in the chapel at the health center. Burial will follow in St. Stephen's cemetery, North Attleboro.

MARY TYBURSKI - Johnston

MARY TYBURSKI, 79, of Simmonsville Avenue, died Sunday at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, North Providence.

She was the wife of the late Frank Tyburski. A lifelong Johnston resident, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Maria (Macera) DeFazio. Mrs. Tyburski leaves two daughters, Kathy Iannone of Johnston and Marie Contilides of North Smithfield; three brothers, Pasco, Antonio and Alfred DeFazio, all of Johnston; four sisters, Angelina Cardarelli of Johnston, Louisa Pisaturo of Warwick, Jennie Mello of Johnston and Ella Raymond of Cranston; and five grandchildren. She was a sister of the late Michael DeFazio and Margaret Parrillo. The funeral will be held on Thursday at 8 a.m. from the Nardolillo Funeral Home, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 in St. Rocco Church, Atwood Avenue, Johnston. Burial will be in St. Ann cemetery, Cranston.
