RAYMOND RICARD - Cranston
RAYMOND RICARD, 64, of Bottlebrush Drive, Bradenton, Fla., formerly of Cranston, a retired Cranston police captain, died Thursday at home.
He was the husband of Lea J. (Morrison) Ricard. Born in Providence, a son of Mary (Pascik) Ricard of Cranston and the late Joseph Ricard, he had lived in Cranston before moving to Bradenton eight years ago.
Mr. Ricard was a captain in the Cranston Police Department for 26 years before retiring. He was responsible for instituting the Neighborhood Watch Program and was president of the International Brotherhood of Police Officers.
He was a coach for GALS Softball in Cranston.
Mr. Ricard served in the Army for three years, and was a graduate of La Salle Academy, Providence, and Bryant College.
Besides his wife and mother, he leaves two sons, James G. Ricard of Pompano Beach, Fla., and Glen J. Ricard of Jacksonville, Fla.; two daughters, Karen Brindamour of Cranston and Ellen Aubin of Belleville, Ill.; and two grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Robert J. Ricard.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from Woodlawn Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Ann Church, Cranston Street. Burial with military honors will be in St. Ann cemetery.

SILVINO C. MELLO - Fall River
SILVINO C. MELLO, 94, of 2446 Highland Ave., formerly of 200 Essex St., a retired foundry worker, died Saturday at Catholic Memorial Home.
He was the husband of the late Evelyn (Tavares) Mello. Born in Fall River, a son of the late Manuel C. and Mary (Viveiros) Mello, he had lived in Fall River most of his life, and in Warwick for a short time.
Mr. Mello was a foundry worker for Rothwell & Sons for many years before retiring.
He was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II, and a parishioner of St. Michael's Church.
He enjoyed singing.
He leaves a daughter, Anna M. Long of Warwick; a brother, Edward Mello of Largo, Fla.; a grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Arlene Mello, and brother of the late Elsie Ingram, and William C. and Ernest Mello.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home Inc., 1521 North Main St., with a funeral Mass at 10 in St. Michael's Church, Essex Street. Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park, Middletown.

BARBARA L. WEBSTER - North Kingstown
BARBARA L. WEBSTER, 69, of West Allenton Road, a retired employee of the North Kingstown School Department, died Saturday at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence.
She was the wife of David E. Webster. Born in Boston, a daughter of the late Henry J. and Jessie (Chandler) Denning, she had lived in North Kingstown for many years.
She was a former North Kingstown bus monitor and cafeteria worker.
Mrs. Webster was a member of First Baptist Church of North Kingstown, where she was a past president of the Ready Helpers Women's Group. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, the former Joseph's Coat, Wickford, and South County Hospital, South Kingstown.
She was a member of Beechwood House Senior Center, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fleet Reserve 42, the Women's International Bowling Conference, and the Kingstown Bowl Women's Bowling League.
Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Scott Webster of West Warwick; a daughter, Lori Marriott of Killingworth, Conn.; a brother, Donald R. Denning of Arlington, Mass.; and three grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Henry J., Norman R. and Charles Denning.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in First Baptist Church of North Kingstown, Tower Hill Road. Burial will be in Rhode Island Veterans cemetery, Exeter.

The funeral for LIONEL H. POISSANT - North Smithfield
The funeral for LIONEL H. POISSANT, 76, of Cynthia Drive, who died Thursday in Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident on Mendon Road, will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. from Linton Funeral Home, 185 Spring St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in Sacred Heart Church, Second Avenue, Woonsocket. He was the husband of Hazel R. (Britt) Poissant. Born in Woonsocket, the son of the late Pacific and Yvonne (Bernier) Poissant, he had lived in North Smithfield most of his life.
A retired career military noncommissioned officer, Mr. Poissant served in the Army Air Forces and the Air Force for 23 years, attaining the rank of technical sergeant. He had also served in the Navy. He was the recipient of the Air Force National Defense Service Medal, among other awards.
After leaving the armed forces, he became a service officer for the VFW and AMVETS.
Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Richard M. Poissant of Williamsburg, Va., three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Burial with military honors will be in Resurrection cemetery, Cumberland.

TARAS J. ZATONSKY - Woonsocket
TARAS J. ZATONSKY, 80, of 211 Morin St., a retired machine operator, died yesterday in Landmark Medical Center.
He was the husband of the late Dina (Danieli) Zatonsky. They had been married
for 50 years. Born in Holyoke, Mass., on July 16, 1921, a son of the late John and Anna (Mazur) Zatonsky, he had lived in Woonsocket most of his life.
He had been a machine operator at General Electric in Providence for 30 years, retiring in 1983.
Mr. Zatonsky was an Army veteran of World War II, serving as a staff sergeant.
He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church. He was a life member of the Uxbridge Rod and Gun Club, and the Woonsocket Sportsman's Club. He was a former member of the Italian Working Man's Club.
He leaves a son, Allen Zatonsky of Chepachet; three daughters, Karen M. Briggs of Blackstone, Mass., and Linda A. Lambert and Judy Zatonsky, both of Woonsocket; a sister, Stella Bello of Memphis, Ind.; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Nester and Maurice Zatonsky, Mary Marchuk and Olga Rosati.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. from Menard Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., with a committal service at 11 in St. John the Baptist cemetery, Bellingham, Mass.

ELIZABETH JEAN FOLEY - Bristol
ELIZABETH JEAN FOLEY, 73, of King Philip Avenue, died Saturday at home. She was the wife of the late Richard J. Foley. Mrs. Foley had spent her winters in Jensen Beach, Fla., for 25 years.
She leaves a son, David Angell, and a daughter, Pamela Meyer, both of Bristol; three sisters, Barbara Perry of Milford, Mass., Virginia Perry of Cranston and Carol Del Toro of Providence; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was a sister of the late Allan Perry.
The funeral service and burial were private.

RALPH B. LAWRENCE - Coventry
RALPH B. LAWRENCE, 88, of Blue Spruce Drive, a retired sales manager, died Monday at home. He was the husband of the late Caroline A. (Charles) Lawrence. Born in Syracuse, N.Y., a son of the late Ralph G. and Aleathea Lawrence, he had lived in Londonderry, N.H., before moving to Coventry in 1982.
Mr. Lawrence had been a sales manager with Associated Grocers of New England, in Manchester, N.H., for 10 years before retiring in 1975. He is survived by two sons, Ralph G. Lawrence of Coventry and Walter P. Lawrence of Great Falls, Va.; a sister, Ethel L. Sargis of Nokomis, Fla.; four grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 a.m. in SS. John & Paul Church, 341 South Main St. Burial will be private.
