MARY E. (MURPHY) BELANGER - Somerset
MARY E. (MURPHY) BELANGER, 66, of Massachusetts Avenue, a retired Seekonk elementary-school teacher, died yesterday at Charlton Memorial Hospital.
She was the wife of the late Alfred F. Belanger. Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late James E. and Mary H. (Harrington) Murphy, she had lived in Somerset all her life.
She was a teacher at George R. Martin School, Seekonk, for 35 years, retiring in 1998. Mrs. Belanger was a parishioner of St. Patrick's Church.
She was a 1952 graduate of Somerset High School and a 1956 graduate of UMass-Amherst. Mrs. Belanger was a member of the UMass Amherst Alumnae Association.
She was a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan.
She leaves two sons, Michael J. Belanger of Plainville, Mass., and Daniel E. Gannon of Raynham, Mass.; two daughters, Kathleen M. McWey of Boca Raton, Fla., and Lisa M. Belanger of Los Angeles; a stepson, Donald H. Belanger of Somerset; and three sisters, Joan M. Whittington and Dorothy L. Devaney, both of Somerset, and Claire Thibodeau of Tiverton.
The funeral will be held Monday at 8 a.m. from Rose E. Sullivan & Waring Home, 866 County St., with a funeral Mass at 9 in St. Patrick's Church, 306 South St. Burial will be in St. Patrick's cemetery.

CHARLES K. BREARD - Warwick
CHARLES K. BREARD, 57, of Pheasant Ave, a retired municipal driver, died Tuesday at home.
He was a companion of the late Judith A. Yates, who died Sept. 6. Born in Warwick, a son of Ruth R. (Williams) Breard of Warwick and the late Charles J. Breard, he was a lifelong resident of Warwick.
He was employed as a driver for the Warwick Highway Department for 30 years before retiring.
Besides his mother, he leaves a son, Michael T. Breard in Arizona, and three sisters, Mary Jo Bianchi, Charlene A. King and Donna F. Bathgate, and a brother, Michael J. Breard, all of Warwick. He was the father of the late Brian P. Breard.
The funeral service will be held tomorrow at 8 p.m. in Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Ave. Burial will be private.

MARILYN L. FOLLETT - Woonsocket
MARILYN L. FOLLETT, 60, of 294 Kildeer Rd., Webster, Mass., a former resident of North Smithfield, a homemaker, died Tuesday at home. Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Leslie B. and Laura E. (Smith) Follett.
She had been active in social clubs for the deaf in Rhode Island and California for many years. She was a graduate of the Rhode Island School for the Deaf, Providence.
She leaves a brother, Douglas L. Follett of North Smithfield, and a sister, Muriel Stockdale of Webster, with whom she lived. She was the sister of the late Priscilla Kowalczyk.
A memorial service will be held tomorrow at 8 p.m. in Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket.

MADELEINE D. LANOIE - North Smithfield
MADELEINE D. LANOIE, 82, of 10 Rhodes Ave., retired co-owner of Lanoie's Menswear, Woonsocket, died Tuesday at St. Antoine Residence. Born in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late Eugene and Aurore (Larocque) Dursin, she was a lifelong resident of the Woonsocket area.
She worked at Lanoie's Menswear for 20 years, retiring in 1999.
She leaves a son, Roger G. Lanoie Jr., and a daughter, Helen P. Dybala, both of North Smithfield; two brothers, Louis Dursin of Hopkington, N.H., and Edgar Dursin of Woonsocket; and six grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Maurice and Marcel Dursin.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Antoine Residence Chapel. Burial in Precious Blood cemetery, Woonsocket.

HELENE ROSANNA (NADEAU) BOUVIER - North Smithfield
HELENE ROSANNA (NADEAU) BOUVIER, 83, of Woodland Road, formerly of Sayles Hill Road, died Monday in Landmark Medical Center.
Born in Woonsocket on July 7, 1918, a daughter of the late Ulderic and Eva (Trottier) Nadeau, she had been a North Smithfield resident for 50 years.
Mrs. Bouvier worked in the bookkeeping and the purchasing departments of the former McCarthy's department store for 35 years, retiring in 1986.
She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, where she volunteered as a Eucharistic minister and lector. She was a member of the parish choir, and was an accomplished organist.
She was involved in several area gardening clubs.
She leaves a sister, Aurore Camilucci of Houston, and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Henry Nadeau, Jeannette Dussault, Alice Grondines and Beatrice Lamoureux.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. from Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Park Avenue, Woonsocket. Burial will be in Rhode Island Veterans cemetery.

JOHN A. GAGNON - West Warwick
JOHN A. GAGNON, 78, of Glendale Drive, a retired insurance agent, died Tuesday in Kent County Memorial Hospital.
He was the husband of E. Janet (Halliday) Gagnon. They were married
for 52 years. Born on Sept. 24, 1923, in West Warwick, a son of the late Sigfroid and Evelyn (Gagnon) Gagnon, he had lived in West Warwick all his life.
Mr. Gagnon worked at the West Warwick office of Metropolitan Life Insurance for 30 years, retiring as a senior representative in 1984.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving as a staff sergeant with the 36th Texas Infantry Division in North Africa, Italy, southern France, and Germany.
He was a graduate of Providence College, Class of 1949, and a member of the PC Alumni Association. He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, a lector, and a member of its Holy Name Society.
Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Mary Reed of Warwick; two sons, John A. Gagnon Jr. of Edenton, N.C., and Bruce R. Gagnon of West Warwick; a sister, Lucille O'Donoghue of West Warwick; and seven grandchildren. He was the father of the late Kevin Gagnon, and brother of the late Genevieve ValPigno, Judith Beauregard, and Maurice, Irenee, Clement, Marcel, Paul, Charles and Jules Gagnon.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 8 a.m. from Raoul G. Henault & Son Funeral Home, 5 Eddy St., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 in St. Joseph Church, Providence Street. Burial with military honors will be in Rhode Island Veterans cemetery, Exeter.

MARGARET MOORE - Bristol
MARGARET MOORE, 92, of 7 Creek Lane, formerly of Chestnut Street, Newport, a homemaker, died Nov. 9 at Newport Hospital. She was the wife of the late Frank B. Moore. Born in Newport, a daughter of the late Peter and Metaxia (Broustouris) Andrews, she had lived in Greenville, Mich., and Florida before moving to Newport.
She leaves three nephews, John N. Duphiney of Newport, James Andrews in North Carolina and John Andrews in Connecticut, and six nieces, Sophia N. Vasiliou and Anna N. Duphiney, both of Newport, Lorna D. Edmundson in Pennsylvania, Barbara May in Florida, and Maryann McKenzie and Karen Greene, both in Michigan. She was the mother of the late Penolope Moore, and sister of the late John E. and Basil B. Andrews, Mary Vasiliou and Mable A. Vasiliou.
A graveside service will be held tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. in St. Mary Churchyard, Portsmouth.

FRED J. CREIGHTON - Attleboro
FRED J. CREIGHTON, 52, of Jessie Avenue, South Attleboro, a dispatcher, died yesterday at home.
He was the husband of Kathleen M. (Gordon) Creighton. Born in Providence, a son of Rose Marie (LaBrie) Creighton of Riverside, and the late Frederick J. Creighton Jr., he had lived in South Attleboro for 15 years, previously living in Warren.
Mr. Creighton was a dispatcher at Amtrak for 10 years, leaving because of illness earlier this year, and had previously worked for Mrs. Kavanaugh Bakery, and had owned Protective Covering Co.
He attended Roger Williams College. He was a former treasurer of the Riverside Sportsmen's Club, and a former Eagle scout in St. Brendan Troop 10.
He was an avid boater and fisherman.
Besides his wife and mother, he leaves a daughter, Charlene M. Creighton-Medeiros of Warren; three sons, Fred J. Creighton IV of South Attleboro, Matthew T. Creighton of Durham, N.H. and Jeffrey J. Creighton of Warren; two stepsons, Christopher J. Hayward of South Attleboro and Michael A. Hayward of Pawtucket; a stepdaughter, Jillian K. Hayward of South Attleboro; a sister, Rosemarie A. Fournier of East Providence; two brothers, Robert E. Creighton of Quincy, Mich., and Edward R. Creighton of Riverside; and three grandchildren. He was the brother of the late David R. Creighton.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 8 a.m. from W. Raymond Watson Funeral Home, 350 Willett Ave., Riverside, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven cemetery, East Providence.
