VINCENT ALVITI - Johnston
VINCENT ALVITI, 80, of Central Avenue, the founder of Alviti Tool & Die Inc. and Alviti Link-All Inc., died yesterday at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence.
He was the husband of Margaret (Meloni) Alviti. Born in Providence, a son of the late Orlando and Alessandrina (Macchioni) Alviti, he resided in Johnston for 40 years. He was the founder of Alviti Tool & Die Inc. and Alviti Link-All Inc.
He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Alpine Country Club, St. Lawrence Council, Knights of Columbus, the Elks, and Providence Associate Lodge 3, Fraternal Order of Police.
Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Janice Amaral of Cranston and Lucille Knight of Johnston; two sisters, Rose Arrighi and Valeria DelGado, both of Cranston; two brothers, Peter Alviti of Providence and Ralph Alviti of Attleboro; and four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Josephine Ciancola, and Raymond, John and Italo Alviti.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated tomorrow at 10 a.m. in St. Bartholomew Church, Laurel Hill Avenue, Providence. Burial with military honors will be in St. Ann cemetery, Cranston.

MARIE S. "PAT" GILLHEENEY - East Providence
MARIE S. "PAT" GILLHEENEY, of Pavillion Avenue, a line-dance teacher for many years, died Saturday at Evergreen House Nursing Home.
She was the wife of the late Edward F. Gillheeney, and the late Raymond F. Fortier. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late John F. and Susan E. (Brothers) Tracy, she was a Rumford resident for 44 years.
Mrs. Gillheeney taught and choreographed line dancing for 25 years, most recently working with the Lincoln and Central Falls Senior Centers. She had also taught in the Attleboros.
She was a dance costume designer for many years at the former Peko Creations in Pawtucket. She had worked for Rigney's Ice Cream Shop on Hope Street, Providence, and had also been a bookkeeper at the former Shepherd's department store.
She was a longtime communicant of St. Margaret Church, Rumford, and served on its first Parish Council. She was a member of its Leisure Group, and a former member of the Woman's Club. She was a member of Club Dominicana at St. Pius Church, Providence.
She leaves a son, William F. Fortier of East Providence; a daughter, Susan E. Cottrell of Yardley, Pa.; two brothers, Paul Tracy of Johnston and George Tracy of Narragansett; a sister, Jane Dwyer-Wright of North Providence; and two grandsons. She was the sister of the late John, James and Leo Tracy.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from Monahan-Kelly Drabble-Sherman Funeral Home, 230 Waterman St., Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Margaret Church, Pawtucket Avenue, Rumford. Burial will be in St. Francis cemetery, Pawtucket.

FRANK A. RENDINE - Cumberland
FRANK A. RENDINE, 65, of Aurora Drive, a registered professional engineer, and a retired city planner, died Saturday at home.
He was the husband of Anne (Hogan) Rendine. Born in Providence, a son of the late Frank and Carmela (Silvestro) Rendine, he lived in Cumberland for many years. Mr. Rendine was the president of the former Rendine Design Group, Pawtucket, for 25 years.
He designed buildings in locations from Maine to Indiana, including the Riverside Landing, Pawtucket, and the Winter Wonderland in Slater Park, Pawtucket, of which he was named honorary mayor.
Later, he was assistant director of planning for the City of Pawtucket, director of building and code enforcement, and the project engineer for the Department of Planning and Redevelopment for 10 years, retiring last year.
He was a member of the American Institute of Architects, and the Providence Engineering Society, and a former member of the Rhode Island Country Club and FEMA.
He was an avid oil painter, cabinetmaker and an accomplished chef.
Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Lisa Rendine of Attleboro and Gina Conroy of Cumberland; a son, Mark Rendine of Cumberland; a sister, Donna J. DeFusco of Cranston; a brother, Edward R. Rendine of North Providence; and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 8:45 a.m. from Mariani Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins St., Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. John Vianney Church, Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland.

CATHRINE PARENT - Coventry
CATHRINE PARENT, 58, of Skowhegan, Maine, formerly of Coventry, a former nurse, died Friday at Cedar Ridge Nursing Care Center, Skowhegan.
Born in Elizabeth, N.J., she was a daughter of the late James M. and Agnes (Gibson) Joubert.
She was a graduate of Community College of Rhode Island. She worked as a nurse in several area nursing homes, retiring because of illness.
She leaves three daughters, Dolores Derocher Penny of Skowhegan, Ann Marie Stedman of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Mary E. King of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; a son, Matthew Agin of Exeter; and five grandchildren.
A service will be held tomorrow at 4 p.m. in Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 261 Madison Ave., Skowhegan. Burial will be in Glenwood cemetery, East Greenwich, in the spring.

AURORE M. GAUVIN - Central Falls
AURORE M. GAUVIN, 79, formerly of Broad Street, died Friday at Rose Cottage Health Care Center after an illness. Born in Lawrence, Mass., a daughter of the late Alfred and Delima (Courtemanche) Gauvin, she had lived most of her life in Massachusetts, and had been a resident of the former Paquette's Rest Home for seven years.
She leaves no known survivors.
A funeral prayer service will be held today at 9 a.m. in Charles Coelho Funeral Home, 151 Cross St. Burial will follow in Notre Dame cemetery, Pawtucket.

Jean A. Gilbane, 78, dies; ex-officer of building company
EAST PROVIDENCE -- Jean A. Gilbane, 78, of Don Avenue, Rumford, the former secretary and treasuerer of Gilbane Construction Co., died yesterday in Rhode Island Hospital, Providence.
She was the wife of the late Thomas F. Gilbane, who was president and board chairman of the Gilbane Building Co. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Vincent and Edna (Leary) Murphy, she had lived in Providence before moving to Rumford in 1982. She had been a summer resident of Narragansett and had wintered in Palm Beach, Fla.
Mrs. Gilbane was the former secretary and treasurer of Gilbane Building Co. She formerly was on the board of directors of Gilbane Building Co. and BT Equipment Co., the corporation of South County Hospital. She was a trustee of the College of New Rochelle, and of Butler Hospital.
She was a board member of Point Judith Country Club, the 400 Building of Palm Beach, the corporation of the Emma Pendleton Bradley Hospital, the Sophia Little Home, the Metropolitan Nursing and Health Services of Rhode Island, and the Trinity Square Repertory Company.
She was a former vice president of the Butler Hospital Auxiliary, and Rhode Island Hospital Women's Auxiliary.
Mrs. Gilbane was a graduate of Elmhurst Academy, and the College of New Rochelle, a Lady of the Holy Sepulcher, and a Dame of Malta.
She was a member of the Point Judith Country Club, the Dunes Club, Wannamoisett Country Club, the Beach Club of Palm Beach, and the University Club, Providence.
She leaves five sons, Thomas F. Gilbane Jr., Richard T. and John D. Gilbane, all of Providence, Robert V. Gilbane of East Greenwich and James M. Gilbane of Rumford; a daughter, Jean Gilbane Cole, and two sisters, Barbara Rogers and Nancy O'Halloran, all of Rumford; and 17 grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in Church of St. Sebastian, Cole Avenue, Providence. Burial will be in Swan Point cemetery, Providence.

BARBARA A. MOREAU - Attleboro
BARBARA A. MOREAU, 84, of 1137 West St., a retired registered nurse, died Sunday at home.
She was the wife of Raymond A. Moreau. Born in Attleboro, April 12, 1917, a daughter of the late Brenton and Kathleen (Silvia) Gilmour, she had lived in Attleboro most of her life. She was a registered nurse at the Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island, Pawtucket, for 30 years, retiring in 1974.
Mrs. Moreau was a former parishioner of Holy Ghost Church.
Mrs. Moreau was a volunteer reading tutor at Coelho Middle School and other Attleboro schools. She was an avid golfer and gardener and Boston Celtics fan. Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Patricia A. Bradbury of Cumberland, and a grandson, Christopher L. Bradbury Jr. of Houston, Texas. She was the mother of the late June Moreau and sister of the late Sylvia Spinella.
A memorial gathering to celebrate her life will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at her home.
