RITA C. WATT - Lincoln
RITA C. WATT, 74, of Grandview Avenue, died Saturday at Miriam Hospital, Providence.
She was the wife of William H. Watt Jr. Born in Central Falls, a daughter of the late George and Marie (Turgeon) Bachand, she lived in Lincoln for 50 years.
Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, William Hall Watt III of Laconia, N.H., and Wayne R. Watt of Scituate; a sister, Joan Baillie, and a brother, George Bachand, both of Cumberland; and two grandchildren.
A service of remembrance and thanksgiving will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Bellows-Falso Funeral Chapel, 160 River Rd. Burial will be private.

HAZEL COSTA - Fall River
HAZEL COSTA, 83, formerly of Wellington Street, a retired nursing assistant, died yesterday at Southpointe Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center.
She was the wife of the late Manuel Costa. Born in Somerset, a daughter of the late Manuel and Mabel (Curt) Costa, she lived in Fall River for 60 years.
Mrs. Costa was a nursing assistant at Charlton Memorial Hospital for 25 years, retiring in 1979.
She was a parishioner of St. Michael Church's. Mrs. Costa graduated from Somerset High School.
She leaves a son, Thomas Costa of Assonet, Mass.; a daughter, Cynthia Boucher of Westport; a granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Theophil and Clement Oliver.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 8 a.m. from Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 North Main St., with a funeral Mass at 9 in St. Michael's Church, Essex Street. Burial will be in St. Patrick's cemetery.

FERDINAND J. ARSENAULT - Fall River
FERDINAND J. ARSENAULT, 77, of Fairhaven, Mass., a retired truck driver, died unexpectedly Saturday at St. Luke's Hospital, New Bedford.
He was the husband of Irene D. (Soucy) Arsenault. They were married
for 43 years. Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Joseph F. Arsenault and Lillian (Rogers) Arsenault Bedford, he had lived in New Bedford before moving to Fairhaven in 1958.
He was a truck driver for various furniture companies for more than 20 years, retiring in 1973.
A Marine veteran of World War II, Mr. Arsenault served in the Asiatic Pacific and America, and had also served in the Civilian Conservation Corps. He was a former member of the Marine Corps League.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Besides his wife, he leaves a stepdaughter, Joanne Camaioni of Fall River, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was the brother of the late Grace Arsenault, Priscilla Sabatowski, Fannie Mott, Hazel Reis and his twin, Franklin Arsenault.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Fairlawn Mortuary of Sullivan-Waring, 180 Washington St., Fairhaven. Burial with military honors will be in Riverside cemetery, Fairhaven.

DORILDA AINSWORTH - Fall River
DORILDA AINSWORTH, 91, of Robeson Street, formery of Pleasant Street, a former nurse, died yesterday at the Fall River Jewish Home.
She was the wife of the late James W. Ainsworth. A lifelong Fall River resident, she was a daughter of the late Hilaire and Alphonsine (Gaudreau) Bolduc.
A registered nurse, she had worked for the former General, Truesdale and Union Hospitals and St. Anne's Hospital for many years and had also been a private-duty nurse. She was a 1931 graduate of the Fall River General Hospital School of Nursing.
A member of Notre Dame Parish, Mrs. Ainsworth was a former member of the Catholic Order of Foresters. She was a member of the Fall River Catholic Nurses Association, and the Retired State, County and Municipal Employees Association.
She leaves three sons, John T. Ainsworth of Fall River, and Russell F. and Paul D. Ainsworth, both of Westport; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late James W. "Buddy" Ainsworth Jr. and sister of the late Arthur, Raoul, Adelard and Adrien Bolduc.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 8 a.m. from Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St., with a funeral Mass at 9 in Notre Dame Church, Eastern Avenue. Entombment will be in Notre Dame cemetery Mausoleum.

FERNANDE BERUBE - Fall River
FERNANDE BERUBE, 78, of Milliken Boulevard, formerly of Palmer Street, a retired garment worker, died yesterday at St. Anne's Hospital.
She was the wife of Norman T. Berube. They were married
for 58 years. Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Edward and Yvonne (Lavoie) Fournier, she lived in Fall River most of her life.
A member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union, she worked for Stella Ann Frocks for many years until she retired.
She was a member of Royal Travelers and enjoyed tenpin bowling.
Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Paul Berube of Kingston, N.H., and Donald Berube of Fall River; a sister, Doris Parent of Somerset; a brother, Rene Fournier in California; three grandchildren and a great-grandson; and nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Mona Berube.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. from Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St., with a funeral Mass at 11 in St. Anne's Church, South Main Street. Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park, Middletown.

EMILE SWEET - East Providence
EMILE SWEET, 72, of Martin Street, a retired toolmaker, died Friday at Select Hospital, Houston.
He was the husband of the late Margaret (Elias) Sweet. Born in Fall River, a son of the late Simon and Amelia (Nader) Sweet, he lived in East Providence for 45 years.
Mr. Sweet was a toolmaker at Local Machine Shop for many years until he retired. A Navy veteran of World War II, he served as a seaman first class.
He leaves three sons, Andrew Sweet of Warwick, the Rev. Douglas Sweet of Chepachet and Alan Sweet of East Providence; a sister, Zoie Tucker of Cumby, Texas; three brothers, Ernest Sweet of Detroit, Mitchell Sweet of Fall River and Edward Sweet of Seaford, N.Y.; and four grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Mayer Sweet.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Martha Church, Pawtucket Avenue. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven cemetery.

JOHN P. CHUDY - Cumberland
JOHN P. CHUDY, 76, of Boyle Avenue, a retired truck driver, died Saturday at Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket, after an illness.
He was the husband of Muriel Y. "Sue" (Dufresne) Chudy. Born in Boston, a son of the late Samuel and Evelyn (Palmer) Chudy, he lived in Cumberland most of his life.
Mr. Chudy was a truck driver for Key Container Corp., Pawtucket, for 28 years, retiring in 1989, and a former member of Local 251.
A Navy veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Poisson Cournoyer Chapter 12. He was a member of the Enrico Caruso Club, Manville.
Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Richard Boufard of Cumberland; a brother, Michael Chudy of Mapleville; three sisters, Rose Larochelle of Harrisville, and Irene Paquin and Jane Rousseau, both of Woonsocket; and a grandson.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from T. Lauzon Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Joan of Arc Church, Mendon Road. Burial will be in Rhode Island Veterans cemetery, Exeter.
