FANNIE M. BUTLER - Smithfield
FANNIE M. BUTLER, 77, of Norfolk, Va., formerly of Smithfield, a retired executive secretary, died Thursday in DePaul Hospital. She was the wife of the late John A. Butler. She was born in Smithfield.
She was an executive secretary at Cranston Print Works for 30 years before her retirement. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, the Young at Heart Club, the Bayview Seniors Club, the 60 Plus Club and the Bayview Garden Club.
She leaves a son, David A. Butler of Fort Worth, Texas; a daughter, Christine B. Lenoir of Virginia Beach. Va.; a sister, Sarah T. Foster of Smithfield; and three grandsons. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. in Georgiaville Baptist Church, 100 Farnum Pike.

ESTHER T. ASTRACHAN - Providence
ESTHER T. ASTRACHAN, 88, of St. Elizabeth Home, Melrose Street, a retired clothing buyer, died yesterday at the home.
She was the wife of the late Louis Astrachan. Born in Rochester, N.Y., a daughter of the late Jacob and Belle (Silver) Beckler, she had lived in Rochester most of her life before moving to Rhode Island 19 years ago.
She was a buyer for McFarlin's Men's Store in Rochester for 20 years until her retirement 28 years ago. She was a member of Temple Sinai and its Sisterhood and the former Majestic Senior Guild.
She leaves a son, Rabbi George Astrachan of Warwick; a daughter, Cheryl Feinstein of Coral Springs, Fla.; a brother, Charles Beckler of Phoenix, Ariz.; and four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Harry, William and Simon Beckler.
A funeral service will be held today at noon in Temple Sinai, 30 Hagan Ave., Cranston. Burial will be in Sinai Memorial Park, Warwick.

DONALD J. McDERMOTT - Providence
DONALD J. McDERMOTT, 74, of Haywood Avenue, longtime owner of a typewriter service, died last Sunday at Rhode Island Hospital. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Robert and Lillian (Devlin) McDermott. After his parents died when he was 3, he was raised by Edward and Catherine (McDermott) Marley.
He was the owner of Capital Typewriter Service for 30 years before retiring in 1988.
He leaves a sister, Marion Lintlop of Coventry; a brother, Earl Markey of East Providence; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Robert McDermott, Helen Moriarty, Arthur and Raymond Markey, and Gertrude McDemott.
A memorial service will be held Sept. 10 at 11 a.m. in St. Ann Church, Cranston Street, Cranston.

ALBERT LANCELLOTTI - Providence
ALBERT LANCELLOTTI, 79, of Branch Avenue, a retired construction worker, died yesterday at Rhode Island Hospital.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Vincenzo and Anna (Schiavone) Lancellotti, he was a lifelong resident of Providence. He was a construction worker for various companies in the Rhode Island area. He was a an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II.
He leaves a sister, Viola Lancellotti of Providence; three brothers, Joseph Lancellotti of Miami, Luco Lancellotti of Cranston and Vincent A. Lancellotti of Elmsford, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews. He was a brother of the late Gilda Lancellotti.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from Mariani Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins St., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Ann Church, Hawkins Street. Burial will be in St. Francis cemetery, Pawtucket.

ADELINO PAOLINO - Providence
ADELINO PAOLINO, 79, of Broadway, a retired wire maker, died Friday at Miriam Hospital after an illness.
He was the husband of the late Maria Teresa (Liguori) Paolino. Born in Marzano Appio, Province of Caserta, Italy, a son of the late Mariano and Maria (Laorenza) Paolino, he lived in Providence for 50 years.
Mr. Paolino worked for Rhode Island Insulated Wire for 23 years, retiring in 1982.
He leaves two sons, Charles Paolino of Wakefield and Anthony J. Paolino of Providence; a daughter, Mary Frances Richard of New York; a brother, Harry Paolino of North Providence; two sisters, Yolanda Latino and Triestina Latina, both in Italy; and seven grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Lorenzo and Pasquale Paolino.
The funeral will be held tomorrow at 8:45 a.m. from A. Tarro & Sons Funeral Home, 425 Broadway, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in Holy Ghost Church, Knight Street. Burial will be in St. Ann cemetery, Cranston.

DONA BERNARD - Providence
DONA BERNARD, 60, of Plainfield Street, a self-employed carpenter, died last Sunday in St. Luke's Hospital, Newburgh, N.Y.
He was the husband of Marie Charles Bernard. Born in Jacmel, Haiti, a son of the late Alvis Dagrin and Marianne Bernard, he lived in Providence for four years. He was self-employed carpenter for several years.
He leaves three sons, Donald and George Bernard, both of Providence, and Jacques Bernad in Haiti; four daughters, Marie Y. Faustin in Maryland, and Ruth, Alexandra and Sashine Bernard, all of Providence; and two grandchildren.
The funeral will be held tomorrow at 10 a.m. in Haitian Baptist Church, 12 Lincoln Ave., Cranston. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery, Cranston.

WESLEY SMITH - Providence
WESLEY SMITH, 27, of Glenham Street, died Thursday at the Adult Correctional Institutions, Cranston.
Born in Providence, a son of Maydell (Todd) Smith of Providence and the late Wesley Mitchell, he was a longtime resident of Providence. Besides his mother, He leaves a brother, Isaac Mitchell of Providence; four sisters, Tracy Smith, Michelle Smith-Salguedo and Laurie Smith, all of Providence, and Michelle Spellman of Warwick; a paternal great-grandmother, Cora Clifton of Franklinton, N.C.; and a stepfather, Alfred Smith of Providence.
The funeral service will be held tomorrow at 1 p.m. in Bell Funeral Home, 571 Broad St.

ROBERT F. MANCINI - Providence
ROBERT F. MANCINI, 78, of Cathedral Square Apartments, died June 14 at Rhode Island Hospital.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Angelo and Nancy (Diprete) Mancini.
He leaves two sons, Robert Mancini Jr. of Cranston and Steven Mancini of Providence, and a granddaughter.
The funeral and burial were private.

GRACE F. (GERARDI) TARPEY - Pawtucket
GRACE F. (GERARDI) TARPEY, of Bloomfield Street, a former secretary, died Friday at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island.
She was the wife of Joseph F. Tarpey. They celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary in June. Born in Paterson, N.J., a daughter of the late Frank and Rose (Angotti) Gerardi, she was a resident of Pawtucket for more than 50 years and a communicant of St. Teresa Church.
She was a secretary for the former TA Clarke Motors, and a merchandise secretary for the Peerless Co., later working as a medical secretary for Memorial Hospital.
She was a graduate of the former Pawtucket East High School, now William Tolman High School. She was a past treasurer for St. Teresa Mothers Club, and a member of St. Raphael's Ladies Auxiliary. She was an assistant leader in the Rhode Island Council of Campfire Girls.
Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Michael F. Tarpey of Webster, Mass.; a daughter, Kathleen Sowa of Cumberland; and six grandchildren.
The funeral will be held tomorrow at 9 a.m. from Cheetham Mortuary Inc., 1012 Newport Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Teresa Church, Newport Avenue. Burial will be in Mount St. Mary cemetery.
