Born June 1, 1926 in San Antao, Cape Verde Island, he was a son of the late Luis F. Ramos and Teodora J. Monteiro.
In addition to his beloved wife, he leaves his children, Antonio Monteiro of Pawtucket, Gil Monteiro of Warwick, Carlos Monteiro of Providence, Teodora M. Alexander of Waterford, CT, Michelle Monteiro of East Providence, and Maria Monteiro of Providence; 5 grandchildren, Carlton, Asha, Meena and Ravi Alexander and Vivianne Monteiro. He was the brother of Sergio, Carlos and Laura Monteiro, Manuel, Necas, Valente, Julietta, Margarida and Lourdes Ramos, ZiZi Ponte, Luisa Landu-Gomes and Rosa Guilherme. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held on Friday at 8:45am from the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME 901 Broadway, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Traverse St., Providence. Burial will follow at Swan Point cemetery, Providence. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4-8 pm.

WARREN - Silva, Margaret S., Age 87, of Libby Lane, died Tuesday, June 10 at the RI Hospital. She was the wife of the late Joseph S. Silva Jr.
Born March 17, 1921 in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Manuel Sousa and Antonia (Daniels Raposa) Cabral. She was a stepdaughter of the late Virgil Cabral.
She is survived by her 4 daughters, Beverly A. Silva of Tavarese, FL, Jo-Ann Cherry of Bradenton, FL, Rosemary S. Tabele of Warwick and Margaret J. "Peg" Silva of Bristol.; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law Alice Cabral and Edith Blogref; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Anthony Cabral and Evelyn Merolla.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 8am from the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME 901 Broadway, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9am at St. Francis Xavier Church, No. Carpenter St., East Providence. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven cemetery. Calling hours will be held Friday from 4-8 pm.

Russell David Farias

PROVIDENCE – Farias, Russell, 74, of Pembroke Ave., husband of Shirley (Anderson) Farias, died unexpectedly July 19, 2008 at the Roger Williams Medical Center.
Born March 26, 1934 in Providence, he was a son of the late Alfredo and Adelaide (Rogue) Farias. He served with the US Marines during the Korean War.
In addition to his wife of 52 years, he is survived by his children, Diana Santo, Deborah Medeiros, and Patricia Farias, all of Warwick, Michael Farias of Providence, and Stephen Farias of Chicago; 6 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He was the father of the late Russell Farias, and brother of the late Richard and James Farias.
His funeral will be Wednesday at 11am in the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence, with military honors and burial following at Gate of Heaven cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday 5-8pm.

Cabral, Mary (Souza), 86, of Mauran Ave., died peacefully Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. She was the wife of the late Anthony Cabral.
Born March 27, 1922, in East Providence, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Coelho) Souza.
Mrs. Cabral was the devoted mother of Jeannette Quirini of Riverside; Raymond Cabral of Cranston and Richard Cabral of Smithfield; and loving grandmother 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter. She was the sister of Hilda Cabral, Virginia Moniz and John Souza, all of East Providence, and of the late Manuel Souza, Lena Pavao and Laura Borges.
Her funeral will be Saturday at 8am from the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9am at St. Francis Xavier Church, No. Carpenter St., East Providence. Burial will follow at the Gate of Heaven cemetery. Calling hours will be today, Friday, 5-8pm.

DaCruz, Orlando A. 43, of Pleasant St. died unexpectedly on May 1, 2008. Born in Sao Nicolau, Cape Verde Island, he was the beloved son of Clara Martins of Providence and the late Antonio DaCruz.
He is survived by his common-law- wife Isabel D. Costa of Providence.
He presently worked as a mason/plasterer for Brown University.
He was a soccer player for Sao Nicolau Soccer Club.
Besides his mother and common-law- wife , he is survived by his children, Derek DaCruz, Nicole DaCruz, Kayla Costa, Darren DaCruz all of Providence and Peter Alexander DaCruz of Fall River, MA.
He is survived by his siblings; Jose, Antonio and Aguinaldo DaCruz all of Providence, Pedro DaCruz of No. Providence, Herculano, Amilca and Salvador DaCruz of Cape Verde Island, Julia and Ilda DaCruz, Maria Dos Santos and Felisbela DaCruz-Varela all of Providence, Amelia Dos Santos of Pawtucket, Armanda and Filomena DaCruz of Cape Verde Island. He was the brother of the late Salvador DaCruz.
He is survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 8:45 AM from the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway East Providence, RI. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10AM in Holy Name of Jesus Church, 99 Camp St. Providence. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 5-8PM.

PROVIDENCE – Oliveira, Abilio Garcia, age 80 of Charles St., formerly of North Main St., died Thursday, March 20, 2008. He was the beloved husband of Dulce (Monteiro) Oliveria. He was born Oct. 12, 1927 in Cape Verde and was a son of the late Adelina Garcia Oliveira.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his 8 children, Ia, Madalena and Dolores, all of East Providence, Emanuel of Boston, Djudja of Portugal, Adelina of Pawtucket, Betinho of Cape Verde and Richard of Philadelphia; 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; his sister, Olga of Florida.
His funeral will take place Saturday at 9am in the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence. Burial will follow at the North Burial Ground. Calling hours will be Friday 6-8pm.
