Abilio Garcia Oliveira
Born in Cape Verde on Oct. 12, 1927
PROVIDENCE – Oliveira, Abilio Garcia, age 80 of Charles St., formerly of North Main St., died Thursday, March 20, 2008.
He was the beloved husband of Dulce (Monteiro) Oliveria.
He was born Oct. 12, 1927 in Cape Verde and was a son of the late Adelina Garcia Oliveira.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his 8 children, Ia, Madalena and Dolores, all of East Providence, Emanuel of Boston, Djudja of Portugal, Adelina of Pawtucket, Betinho of Cape Verde and Richard of Philadelphia; 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; his sister, Olga of Florida.
His funeral will take place Saturday at 9am in the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence.
Burial will follow at the North Burial Ground.

Orlando A DaCruz
Born in Sao Nicolau, Cape Verde on Apr. 25, 1965
Departed on May 1, 2008 and resided in Providence, RI.
DaCruz, Orlando A. 43, of Pleasant St. died unexpectedly on May 1, 2008.
Born in Sao Nicolau, Cape Verde Island, he was the beloved son of Clara Martins of Providence and the late Antonio DaCruz.
He is survived by his common-law wife Isabel D. Costa of Providence.
He presently worked as a mason/plasterer for Brown University.
He was a soccer player for Sao Nicolau Soccer Club.
Besides his mother and common-law wife, he is survived by his children, Derek DaCruz, Nicole DaCruz, Kayla Costa, Darren DaCruz all of Providence and Peter Alexander DaCruz of Fall River, MA.
He is survived by his siblings; Jose, Antonio and Aguinaldo DaCruz all of Providence, Pedro DaCruz of No. Providence, Herculano, Amilca and Salvador DaCruz of Cape Verde Island, Julia and Ilda DaCruz, Maria Dos Santos and Felisbela DaCruzVarela all of Providence, Amelia Dos Santos of Pawtucket, Armanda and Filomena DaCruz of Cape Verde Island.
He was the brother of the late Salvador DaCruz.
He is survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 8:45 AM from the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway East Providence, RI.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10AM in Holy Name of Jesus Church, 99 Camp St. Providence.
Burial will be in Gate of Heaven cemetery.

Christine M. Manchester
Born in Providence, RI on Nov. 14, 1946
Departed on Dec. 26, 2011 and resided in Ormond by the Sea, FL.
SEEKONK – Manchester, Christine M. (Lacroix), 65, of Ormond by the Sea, Florida, formerly of Warwick and Seekonk, died unexpectedly Monday, Dec. 26, 2011. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard E. Manchester. They were each other's best friend and true loves.
Born Nov. 14, 1946, in Providence, Christine was the daughter of the late Robert and Helen (Lyons) Lacroix.
She is survived by her daughter Kristen (Bennett) Couitt and her husband Brian of Seekonk, MA, and her son, Michael Bennett and his wife Leesa of Douglas, MA; and her grandchildren, Cameron, Lauren, Brody and Rylee.
She was also the step-mother of Richard, David and James Manchester and Lori Pascone, all of Warwick, and sister of the late Patsy Booker and Kathleen Bigbee.
Calling hours will be held Friday, 5-8pm, in the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence.

Richard Jason
Born in Providence on Aug. 2, 1945
Departed on Jan. 13, 2012 and resided in East Providence, RI.
Jason Richard G.Jason, 66, of Tiverton, formerly of Veteran's Memorial Parkway, died Friday, Jan. 13, 2012 at the Miriam Hospital.
He was the beloved husband of Maryann (Cabral) Jason.
Born Aug. 2, 1945, in Providence, he was a son of the late Anthony and Mary (Medeiros) Jason. Dick served with the US Army during the Vietnam War stationed in Alaska.
He summered on Prudence Island for 25 years.
Dick has worked for the past 18 years with Furnace and Duct Supply Company and had previously worked at Union Paper Company for 17 years.
In addition to his wife of 43 years, he also leaves his brother, Robert Jason and his wife Inez of East Providence.
He was also the brother-in-law to Robert and Helen Cabral of No. Providence and the uncle to Beth and Lynn Cabral, Christine Griffin, Charlotte Mazzarella and Stephen Jason.
His funeral will begin Wednesday at 9:00am from the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence, with at Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at St. Martha's Church, Pawtucket Ave., East Providence.
Burial will follow at the Gate of Heaven cemetery.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, 5-8pm.

Edward P. Histen Jr.
Born in Boston, MA on May 13, 1921
Departed on Jan. 14, 2012 and resided in East Providence, RI.
EAST PROVIDENCE – Histen, Edward P. Jr., 90, recently of East Providence, formerly of Braintree, MA passed away at the Rhode Island Hospital on Jan. 14, 2012 surrounded by loving members of his family.
He was the husband of 43 years of the late Gertrude (Hurley) Histen.
He was a 1943 graduate of Bethlehem Steel Corp. Patternmakers Apprentice Program at the Fore River Shipyard, Quincy, MA.
He served in the US Navy Submarine Service in WWII and the US Marine Corps Reserve from 1946 – 1950.
He was a retired school teacher, having taught at Boston Technical High School for 20 years.
He received his BS from Fitchburg State College, his MS and CAGS from Boston State College.
He was President of the South Braintree Little League from 1955 – 1957, Business Manager/Financial Secretary of the National Patternmaker's Convention in 1962 and 1967, President of the Multiple Sclerosis Atoms Assn. from 1980 – 1982, a member of the Braintree Council Knights of Columbus, the US Navy Submarine Veterans of WWII, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Past Commodore of the Wollaston Yacht Club of Quincy.
He is survived by two daughters, Joan Prew and her husband Edward of Riverside, and Martha Cole of E. Falmouth, MA and one son, Thomas E. Histen of Chesapeake, VA; six grandchildren, Stephen Prew and his wife Kelly of Seekonk, Michael Prew and his wife Patti of Cranston, Karen Doucette and her husband Kevin of Riverside, Robert Cole of Florida, Linda Feliciano and her husband Rick of Bourne, MA, and Timothy Histen and his wife Catherine of Wilmington, DE; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Lawrence Histen of Boston and two grandsons, Daniel Cole of Falmouth and Thomas Histen of Suffolk, VA.
His funeral will begin Wednesday at 7:45am from the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9am at St. Brendan's Church, Turner Ave., Riverside.
Military honors and burial will follow at the RI Veterans Memorial cemetery, Exeter.
