Edward S. Frankian
Edward S. Frankian, 85, of Crestview Drive in Westerly and formerly of Warwick, died on Sunday evening, March 27, 2005 at the Westerly Health Center.
Mr. Frankian was born on March 4, 1920 in Woonsocket, the son of the late Daniel and Agnes (Hagopian) Frankian.
He was educated in the Woonsocket School System. During World War II, Edward served as a United States Army medic on the hospital ship Hope in the Pacific Theatre.
He was principal in his family owned business, the former Henry A. Davis Garnetting Company and the Narragansett Terminal Complex in Pawtucket.
Mr. Frankian is survived by his sister, Diana Beauchemin of North Smithfield and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Warren Frankian. The funeral and burial will be private.
Ida M. (Burge) Turley
Ida M. (Burge) Turley, 67, of Clark Street in Westerly, and formerly of Woody Hill Road in Bradford, died on Monday morning, March 14, 2005 at the Westerly Hospital.
She leaves two daughters, Kimberly Davis of Gales Ferry, CT, and Elaine M. Pierce of Bradford, three grandchildren, Justine Pierce of Bradford, Kristin Pierce of Bradford, and Kevin Davis of Gales Ferry, a foster grandchild, Amanda Knowles, six brothers, Otis L. Burge of Westerly, Noah Bell of Bradford, Philip Bell of Alvin, TX, John Arnold of Westerly and Marvin Arnold of Alvin, TX, two sisters, Patsy Garafola of Bradford and Barbara Spezzano of Chicago, IL. She was pre-deceased by her brother Ralph Bell. Mrs. Turley was born in Springfield, IL on November 28, 1937, the daughter of the late Otis L. and Phyllis G. (Fortner) Burge. She has been a resident of Westerly for almost 50 years. Mrs. Turley was a bookkeeper for many years and a cashier at Foxwoods Resort and Casino for many years. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2005 at 10:00 am in Rushlow-Iacoi Funeral Home, 64 Friendship Street, Westerly.
Calling hours will take place on Wednesday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
Ed Vilandrie, Sr.

Ed Vilandrie, Sr., 63, of Intervale Road, Smithfield passed away September 7 after a valiant battle with Leukemia.
He was the beloved husband for 40 years of Carole (Guglielmino) Vilandrie, the adored father of Jeannine Warrener of Warwick, Edward J. Vilandrie, Jr. of Boston, MA and Franconia, NH and Lauren Ashby of North Carolina, father-in-law of Mark Warrener, Martha Cavanaugh and David Ashby and cherished by his grandchildren, Avery and Nevin Vilandrie and Aidan and Cameron Warrener.
He was the son of Mildred (White) Vilandrie and the late Edward H. Vilandrie and brother of Paula Vilandrie.
Ed leaves a legacy that touched so many of us – as a community youth leader, entrepreneur, engineer, family member and friend.
He was a Board of Directors member at the Smithfield YMCA for the last 25 years. He was the first President to serve the newly chartered Smithfield YMCA in 1982.
He also more recently served as the YMCA’s Corporate Secretary, Treasurer and Chairman of the Capital Development Campaign.
He was actively involved in youth competitive swimming and water polo including being the former President of the RI Swim Coaches Association.
He had significant organizational and fund raising involvement with several other aquatic teams including Little Rhody Acquatic Club, Bishop Hendricken High School and Brown University.
In addition to involvement with these endeavors, Ed most recently helped the disabled community by co-founding internet sites created to aid those with physical disabilities.
Ed was founder and President of various e-commerce businesses including launching in 1996 the first internet marketplace for wholesale commerce and trading.
Prior to his e-commerce and internet endeavors, Ed was an electrical engineer at Foxboro Company from 1967 to 1987 and Elsag Bailey Company in Ohio during the early and mid nineties. He was a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). He was also previously founder and president of a Providence based wholesale trading firm. He graduated from Roger Williams College with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 8am from the *ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Rt. 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville, RI with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9am in St. Michael’s Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Esmond, RI. Adolph Mancini

Adolph Mancini, 86, formerly of Greenville, a freight handler, for the New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad for 32 years, died Sunday at Hospice Care of RI Inpatient Center in Providence. He was the husband of the late Carmella “Bobbie”(Marchetti) Mancini.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Antonio and Catherine (Ramieri) Mancini. He had been a resident of Greenville since 1957.
He was a WWII Army Veteran and had served in the Tank Corp in the European Theatre. He was a member of the VFW in Smithfield, the St. Philip’s Men’s Club Bowling League and had played semiprofessional football for the Hartford Tigers prior to and after serving in WWII. He had also worked for the Federal Government until his retirement in 1981.
He is survived by three sons, Paul G. Mancini of Cranston, Peter J. Mancini of North Smithfield and Robert A. Mancini of Florida; three daughters, Catherine M. Mancini of Greenville, Margaret M. Morgan of North Providence and Barbara M. Mancini of Smithfield, 14 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, three sisters, Lena D’Amore and Anna Mancini both of Cranston and Theresa DeCosta of Warwick. He was the brother of the late Paul Mancini, Angelina LaBella, and Mary Swallow.
His funeral will be held on Friday at 8:30am from the *ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Rt.44 at Greenville Common, Greenville with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Burial with Military Honors will be in Highland Memorial Park. Visitation Thursday 4-8pm. Donations in his memory may be made to Mother of Life Center, 400 Atwells Ave., Providence, RI 02909.
Vincenza Garofalo

Vincenza Garofalo, 74, of Bayou Drive in Greenville, died Tuesday at Cherry Hill Manor in Johnston.
Born in Providence she was a daughter of the late Frank and Concetta (Sasso) Garofalo. She lived in Greenville for many years.
Ms. Garofalo was a supervisor for the former General Electric Company. She enjoyed her work and was an employee of the company from 1953 until retiring in 1990.
She was an avid reader and a courageous lady who spoke her mind and enjoyed a good conversation.
She had battled her illness with grit and determination.
She is survived by a sister, Yolanda “Yola” Tarantino of East Greenwich, several nieces, nephews and friends.
She was the sister of the late Frank, Leo, Joseph, Bart and Antonetta Garofalo, Mary Malardo, Rose DiGiacomo, Josephine Massemini and dear friend of the late Virginia K. Dunphy.
Her funeral will be held Saturday at 8:30am from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Rt.44 at Greenville Common,Greenville, RI with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Visitation Friday 4-7pm

Ken J. Weber

Ken J. Weber, 63, of Deerfield Drive in Greenville, a writer and nature lover, died unexpectedly Thursday, August 2, 2007, at Fatima Hospital.
He was the beloved husband of Bettie J. (Hoorman) Weber. They had been married
for forty-two years.
Born in Ottoville, Ohio, a son of the late Francis and Mary (Honigford) Weber, he was a resident of Greenville since 1971 and had previously lived in Bluffton, Indiana.
He worked for the Providence Journal since 1971 and retired as Section Editor in 1997.
He continued writing for the Journal as a feature columnist. He was a member of the RI Audubon Society.
He played softball on the RI Senior Softball League and was a former coach for boys and girls SYBA, Smithfield Little League, St. Philip’s Girls’ CYO Basketball and SYSA.
He was a charter and former member of the Smithfield Land Trust.
He is also survived by his children, Suzy Zuffoletti and husband, Jim of Wakefield, RI, Sandy Swope of Greenville, Steve and wife, Nikki Weber of South Jordan, UT, Scott and wife, Jen Weber of West Greenwich, RI; nine grandchildren, Zachary, Alexandria, Ysabelle, Tyler, Elijah, Katherine, Rebecca, William and Abigail; his siblings, Mildred (Mike) Rahrig of Wolcottville, IN, Sr. Helen Weber of Dayton, OH, Lucy (Frank) Fuchs of Brandon, FL, Don (Audrey) Weber of Estes Park, CO, Celeste (Roger) Geise of Delphos, OH, Art (Connie) Weber of Van Wert, OH, Dolly (Jim) Spieles of Wauseon, OH, Len (Margie)Weber of Detroit, MI, Larry (Fran) Weber of Barnum, MN, Fr. Herb Weber of Perrysburg, OH, Judy (Vern) Fischer of Delphos, OH.
He was the brother of the late Gene Weber.
