David B. Goodale

David B. Goodale, 54, of West Warwick, formerly of North Kingstown, passed away Thursday at Kent Regency.
He was the beloved husband of Janet S. (Hall) Goodale. Devoted son of Willis and Justine (Zima) Goodale of New York.
Mr. Goodale was a Production Welder for General Dynamics Corp. in Quonset Point until his illness 2 years ago.
He attended St. Bernard Church in North Kingstown.
He was the loving father of Sean Goodale of West Warwick and the late Matthew D. Goodale.
Cherished grandfather of Jacob Goodale of North Kingstown. Caring brother of Deborah Truchon of North Kingstown and Daniel Goodale, Dyanne Goodale, Donna Ferguson, Deloris Kubes and Desiree Goodale, all of New York.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:00 am in St. Bernard Church, 275 Tower Hill Road, North Kingstown.
Burial will follow in Quidnessett Memorial cemetery, North Kingstown.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call Monday 4-6 pm in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95).
Robert C. Gallagher

Robert C. Gallagher, 46, of Phenix Avenue, Cranston passed away Saturday at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Janette (Gincastro) Gallagher. Born in Warwick, he was a loving son of Carolyn E. (Place) Gallagher of Cranston and the late Robert H. Gallagher.
Robert was a Machine & Tool Draftsman and an Engineer for Mahoney's Fabrication in Pawtucket. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid sports fan.
He was the devoted father of Robert W. Gallagher and Christopher H. Gallagher, both of Cranston.
Cherished brother of Sheila A. Gallagher of Cape Coral, FL, Lance Allbright of Coventry, Victoria E. Gallagher of Cranston and John Gallagher of Pennsylvania.
A graveside Service will be held Thursday at 10:00 am in St. Paul Lutheran cemetery, 389 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick.

William H. Morissette, Jr.

William H. Morissette, Jr., 61, of Harley Street, died suddenly Tuesday at Kent Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Catherine R. (Gaudet) Morissette for 40 years.
Born in West Warwick, he was a son of the late William H. and Diane (Brouillard) Morissette.
Mr. Morissette was an Account Representative for several companies in Rhode Island.
He received his Bachelor Degree from Johnson & Wales University and served in The United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a member of American Legion Post #2 in West Warwick.
He was the loving father of Eugene W. Morissette and his wife Rhonda of Warwick and Gregory M. Morissette and his wife Tina of Providence.
Caring brother of Laurel Costa of West Warwick. Cherished grandfather of William and Christina Morissette.
Relatives and friends are invited to Visitation Friday from 8:00-9:30 am in THE PRATA-MURPHY FUNEAL HOME, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Christ The King Church, Legris Avenue, West Warwick. Burial, with military honors, will follow in R.I. Veterans Memorial cemetery, Exeter.

Pasquale “Patsy” Vacca
Pasquale “Patsy” Vacca, 89, a United States Army Veteran of World War II from Bayview Drive, Westerly, died on Saturday, February 19, 2005 at the Westerly Nursing Home. He leaves his beloved wife of 40 years Adele A. (Bernier) Vacca of Westerly, three sons, Francis Vacca of San Antonio, TX, Vincent Vacca of Norwich, and Patsy F. Vacca of Westerly, two brothers, Joseph Vacca of Westerly and John Vacca of Weathersfield, CT, two sisters, Philomena Vetelino of Westerly and Dorothy Del Monte of Westerly, 9 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, few great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Vacca was born in Westerly on September 3, 1915, the son of the late Frank and Michelina (Vicale) Vacca. He was a ship fitter for 23 years at the Electric Boat Division of General Dynamics, retiring in 1980. He also owned his own landscaping business for 15 years. He was the President of Laborers Union Local #15 for many years and President and Chairman of the Veterans Board of Control for over 40 years. He was a member of the Westerly Lodge of Elks, Veteran of Foreign Wars, Italo-American Club and along with Charles Ligouri, was the organizer of the annual Memorial Day Parade for over 30 years.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, February 23, 2005 from Rushlow-Iacoi Funeral Home, 64 Friendship Street, Westerly, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at the Church of Saint Clare, 4 Saint Clare Way, Misquamicut. There will be no procession from the funeral home.
Burial will take place at St. Sebastian cemetery, Westerly. Calling hours will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mr. Vacca’s name can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association – Rhode Island Chapter, 245 Waterman Street, Providence, RI 02906.
Ida C. (Gencarella) Lombardo
Ida C. (Gencarella) Lombardo, 83, of Rossie Avenue in Pawcatuck, died on Saturday morning, February 19, 2005 at Watch Hill Nursing & Rehab Facility.
Her husband of 62 years, John Lombardo, died in 1997. They were married
at Christ Episcopal Church in Westerly.
She leaves a sister, Amelia A. Prachniak of Pawcatuck, two brothers, John Gencarella of Westerly and Joseph Gencarella of Westerly, her nieces and nephews whom she considered her children, Ida A. Haines of Pawcatuck, Stanley Prachniak of Pawcatuck, Eric Prachniak of Pawcatuck, Margaret Prachniak of Pawcatuck and Amy Marques of Westerly.
Mrs. Lombardo was born in Westerly on July 15, 1921, the daughter of the late Pasquale and Mary (Manfredi) Gencarella.
For many years, Mrs. Lombardo was a cook in the West Vine Street School Cafeteria and loved to cook for her family at home.
She was a Jehovah’s Witness for over 60 years. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at 11:00 am in Rushlow-Iacoi Funeral Home, 64 Friendship Street, Westerly. Burial will take place at River Bend cemetery, Westerly.
Calling hours will take place on Monday from 6-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Lombardo’s name can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association – RI Chapter, 245 Waterman Street, Providence, RI 02906.
Josephine L. (Calise) Fusaro Valenti
Needham, MA - Josephine L. (Calise) Fusaro Valenti, 90, of Shore Road in Westerly, died on Saturday afternoon, February 12, 2005 at North Hill Skilled Nursing Facility in Needham, MA.
Her husband, Joseph Valenti died in 1997.
She leaves three sons and daughter-in-laws, Joseph and Denise Valenti of Quincy, MA, Louis A. and Claire Fusaro of Needham, MA and Frank and Carol Fusaro of Saddle River, NJ, four grandchildren, Jaclyn Fusaro of New York City, Christopher Fusaro of Ramsey, NJ, David Fusaro of Berkley, CA and Joseph E. Valenti of Quincy, MA, and a sister, Rose McQuade of Miller Place, NY and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Valenti was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 22, 1914, the daughter of the late Salvatore and Rosina Calise.
Along with her family, Mrs. Valenti vacationed in Westerly starting in the late 1940’s and upon her husband’s retirement, they moved here in 1982.
She was a member of the Westerly Senior Center and always took pride in keeping an immaculate home.
She was loved by all who were touched by her smile, joy and generosity.
She had an “indomitable spirit and love of family and education” as memorialized by her three sons in a scholarship to St. John’s University in her honor.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2005 from Rushlow-Iacoi Funeral Home, 64 Friendship Street, Westerly, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at the Church of Saint Clare, 4 Saint Clare Way, Misquamicut, RI. There will be no procession from the funeral home.
Calling hours will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Burial will take place at St. Sebastian cemetery, Westerly, RI.
