Arthur J. “A.J.” Vieira

Arthur J. “A.J.” Vieira, 37, of Marlborough Street, Boston, formerly of Warwick, died peacefully at Beth Israel Hospital, Boston on Sunday, October 24, 2010.
Born in Providence, he was the loving son of Carol A. (Mello) Vieira of Warwick and the late Eliseu Vieira.
A.J. was a Strategy Consultant/Manager for Accenture, Inc. for the last three years. He was a 1991 graduate of Toll Gate High School and a graduate of Virginia Tech.
He was a member of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity.
He was a member of the Public Relations Society of America, the Texas Public Relations Association, Contributors Network of Dallas, served on the Board of Directors of the Calorie Control Council, and the International Food Information Council.
A.J. joined Accenture, Inc. in October of 2007 as a Manager in the Strategy Practice.
He was promoted to the Senior Manager in September of 2009.
During three years with Accenture, he advised top management of the Fortune 500 Companies on all aspects of business strategies. A.J. was a prolific contributor to Accenture Thought and was recently published.
He was a Communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Church, Warwick.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his sister, Elizabeth A. Morrissette of Warwick and his brother, Richard E. Vieira and his wife Sara of Coventry.
He was the uncle of Andrew Jeremy and Kyle Morrissette and Emily, Jillian, and Nathan Vieira.
His funeral will be held Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 8:45 am from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Greenwood, Warwick (Exit 12A off I-95) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 3250 Post Road, Warwick. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven cemetery, East Providence. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to The American Cancer Society, 931 Jefferson Boulevard, Suite 3004, Warwick, RI 02886 would be appreciated.
Barbara (Rathbun) Williamson

Barbara (Rathbun) Williamson, 75, of Coventry, passed away Tuesday at Brentwood Nursing Home.
She was the wife of the late Robert Williamson.
Born in West Warwick, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Albina (Gravier) Rathbun.
Mrs. Williamson was a private duty caregiver in the Kent County area. She was a member of the Warwick Elks.
She was the beloved mother of Judith J. Caires of Warwick, JoAnn Rego and her husband Norberto of Coventry, David E. Caires of Coventry, Michael A. Caires and his wife Shirley of Coventry and the late Barbara Caires. Loving sister of Marjorie Raymond, Beverly Morrarty, William Rathbun and the late John, Walter and Judith Rathbun, Ethel Breault, Doris Joyal, Helene Regnaire and Jean Webb. Cherished grandmother of five and great grandmother of three.
Her funeral will be held Saturday at 8:45 am from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Gregory The Great Church, 360 Cowesett Road, Warwick. Burial will follow in Rathbun cemetery, Coventry. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Friday 6-8 pm.
Mary Ann (Nogas) Williamson

Mary Ann (Nogas) Williamson, 69, of Saunderstown, died peacefully on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at South County Hospital. Born in Utica, NY, she was a daughter of the late John F. Nogas and Stella (Ciszek) Nogas. She was the loving wife of William J. Williamson.
Mrs. Williamson was a Licensed Practical Nurse at St. Luke's Memorial Hospital of New Hartford, NY prior to starting her family. She was a Homemaker who loved crafting, crocheting, and beading, often donating her crafts to nursing homes. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a communicant of St. Bernard Church.
Besides her husband, she leaves her five children: Richard W. Williamson and his wife Terri of Burlison, TN, Diana M. Dwane and her husband Dan of North Kingstown, Tim Williamson and his wife Sandy of Waxhaw, NC, Michelle A. Barger and her husband Dan of Virginia Beach, VA, and Kathleen Williamson and her husband Real Tanguay of Westfield, MA. She was the loving grandmother of Courtney, Joseph, and Adam Williamson, of Burlison, TN, Matt Walz, Casey Dwane, and Charlie Dwane of North Kingstown, Curtis, Abigail, and Spencer Barger of Virginia Beach, VA, and Brian and Sean Tanguay of Westfield, MA. She was the loving sister of Antoinette Richardson of Sealy, TX, Mildred Niemic of New York Mills, NY, and the late Jeanette Santoro and The Rev. Fr. Joseph Nogas.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, October 14, 2010 at 8:45 am from THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main Street, Wickford Village, North Kingstown, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Bernard Church, 415 Tower Hill Road, Wickford. Burial will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial cemetery, Exeter. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Lillian (Turillo) Hadfield, a homemaker, formerly of Jamestown, passed away Monday, November 8, 2010 at Hebert Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Edward H. Hadfield. Born in Bristol, she was a daughter of the late Sebastian and Lucia (Sicuro) Turillo.
She was the beloved mother of Edward S. Hadfield and his wife Beverly of Lincoln. Caring sister of Domenic Turillo of Jamestown, Josephine Truax of North Kingstown and the late Antonio and Michael Turillo, Isabel McHale and Bridget Dion. Loving grandmother of five and great grandmother of eight. Cherished aunt of several nieces and nephews.

Isabella (Neville) Mercurio

Isabella (Neville) Mercurio, 91, of Warwick, passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at Brentwood Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Salvatore Mercurio. Born in Boston, MA, she was a daughter of the late Augustine C. and Margaret (Doherty) Neville.
Mrs. Mercurio was an Educator for the Warwick School System retiring in 1979 after 25 years of service. She served as the Chair of the Social Studies Department at Gorton Junior High School and as a Social Studies Teacher at Aldrich Junior High School.
She was a graduate of the Boston Girls Latin School and Boston State Teachers College where she earned her Bachelors and Masters Degrees. Mrs. Mercurio was an active communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Warwick and served as a Eucharistic Minister at Kent Hospital. She was a member of the Warwick and Rhode Island Retired Teachers Associations.
She was the beloved mother of Joseph C. Mercurio of Jamestown, Margaret M. Watson of East Greenwich, Ellen M. Garland of West Warwick, Teresa M. Mercurio of Girdwood, AK, Catherine M. Crank of Scott City, MO, Ann M. Mercurio of Seattle, WA and the late Isabella M. Pontarelli. Loving sister of Margaret Robertie of Brighton, MA and the late Ellen Neville. Cherished grandmother of eleven and great grandmother of twelve.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:00 am in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 3250 Post Road, Warwick. Timothy John O'Connell

Timothy John O'Connell, 63, a longtime Jamestown resident, died on November 19, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. Mr. O'Connell was born in Great Barrington, Berkshire County, Massachusetts on June 20, 1947 to Thomas G. and Clara B. O'Connell.
Mr. O'Connell moved with his family to Jamestown shortly after the 1954 Hurricane and resided on High Street. He worked for the Town of Jamestown during summer vacations in his high school years.
He graduated from Rogers High School in Newport in 1965. He later attended the University of Rhode Island and was employed on survey crews constructing both the I-95 New London, Connecticut Bridge and the Jamestown-Newport Pell Bridge. Residences in his early years included Standish Road on Shoreby Hill, and two on Bay View Drive. Tim began his career with the Jamestown Police Department. He served as both a Special Police Officer and Dispatcher during his career of over thirty years.
During his career, he handled thousands of calls from anyone needing assistance in Jamestown. From lost dogs to fatalities, he was known as the consummate professional. With an encyclopedic knowledge of Jamestown, he was often able to render expert directions to Jamestown first responders, and received numerous commendations for his excellent work.
For many tourists and travelers stopping at the Police Station, he was an ambassador of good will for the community. He was a well known figure at the Jamestown Deli during early morning hours where he had a smile and kind word for all.
He resided on Bayberry Road with his wife and three children for many years, and later resided with his oldest son Matthew in Warwick prior to his illness and hospitalization at Kent County Hospital, Rhode Island Hospital and Kent Regency Center. He was predeceased by his wife, Linda (Williams) O'Connell. He leaves two sons, Matthew of Warwick, Eric, of Boston, Massachusetts, and a daughter, Deborah, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. His mother, Claire O'Connell resides in Tiverton, RI, and his father, Thomas G. O'Connell, died in 2006. He is also survived by an older brother, the Honorable Thomas W. O'Connell of Alexandria, VA, and two younger sisters, Sally Pezanko of Plymouth, Massachusetts and Laurie Fischer of North Providence.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at 10:00 am in St. Mark Church, 60 Narragansett Avenue, Jamestown to which relatives and friends are invited. Burial will be private. Calling hours respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to Vanderbilt Rehabilitation Center, 20 Powel Avenue, Newport, RI 02840 would be appreciated.
