Emma Bullock
Lifelong Warren resident
Emma Bullock, 87, of 20 Libby Lane died Friday, June 14, at the home of her granddaughter, Laura Vincelette in Fall River.
She was the wife of the late Henry Bullock.
A lifelong Warren resident, she was a daughter of the late Adolphis and Eva (Bourassa) St. Onge.
Mrs. Bullock worked as an inspector at the former Converse rubber plant in Bristol before retiring.
She was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church and a member of the Kickemuit Village senior citizens group.
She leaves three daughters, Eva Brown of Bristol, Viola Silvia of Rocky Point, N.C., and Alice Solomito of Swansea; 17 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. She was a sister of the late Arthur, Henry and Charles St. Onge.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday, June 19, at 11 a.m. in the Wilbur-Romano Funeral Home, 615 Main St. followed by burial in South Burial Ground.
Mary V. Nappi
Longtime resident, she was an avid bowler
Mary V. (Russell) Nappi, 96, of Vero Beach, Fla., and formerly of Bristol, died Friday, June 14, 2002, at her home in Florida. She was the wife of the late John J. Nappi.
Born in Newport, a daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Andrade) Pereira-Russell, she lived in Bristol for many years before moving to Florida five years ago.
Mrs. Nappi was a jewelry worker for many years at the Ideal Jewelry Company in Providence. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
An avid bowler, Mrs. Nappi was a member of the Golden Girls Bowling League and won the Governor’s Cup Bowling Trophy at 86 years old.
She leaves three daughters, Elsie Kirby of San Jose, Calif., Josephine McInvale of Vero Beach, Fla., and Dorothy Goda of Springer, N.M.; four sons, Everett Raposa of Anza, Calif., Edward F. Raposa of Wilton, Conn., Michael Shea of Athens, Texas, and Raymond Shea of Manchester, Conn.; two sisters, Emily Pucko of Miami and Emma "Sally" Connor of Newport; 21 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Wednesday from the Sansone Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Burial followed in North Burial Ground.
Lincoln D. Brayton
Attorney, active in many area organizations
Attorney Lincoln Davol Brayton, 96 of Pomfret, Vt., formerly of Swansea and Fall River, died on Tuesday, June 11, 2002, at Mertens House in Woodstock, Vt. He was the husband of Josephine (Knowles) Brayton to whom he had been married for 56 years.
Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late William Lawton Slade Brayton and the late Mary Easton (Ashley) Brayton. He was a graduate of The Hill School, Harvard College, Class of 1928, and Harvard Law School, Class of 1931. At Harvard he was a member of the track team, running the quarter-mile. Track and field remained a lifelong interest.
Mr. Brayton practiced law with Hurlbert, Jones and Hall in Boston, and in 1936 returned to Fall River to establish his own private practice which he continued for nearly 60 years. He was active in many civic, community and church organizations.
During World War II, he served as a Navy lieutenant commander in the Central Pacific Theater.
In 1947, Mr. Brayton was general chairman of the first Community Fund Campaign in Fall River, later known as the United Way. He later served on the Fall River Industrial Commission. He was a director of the Sagamore Manufacturing Co. and Union Savings Bank in Fall River. For many years, he was a director of the Stevens Children’s Home in Swansea.
A member of the First Congregational Church in Fall River, he served as treasurer for 27 years. In 1978, he received the church’s Lex Souter Humanitarian Award.
Mr. Brayton and his wife enjoyed traveling the western United States and the Yukon Territory of Canada. He was an avid walker, rower and reader of history.
In addition to his wife, he leaves two sons, Stephen K. Brayton and Nathanael R. Brayton, both of Dedham, Mass.; and a brother, Richard A. Brayton of Short Hills, N.J.; and many other relatives in the Little Compton, Tiverton and Westport areas. He was also the brother of the late Sherman, Perry and Lawton S. Brayton, Constance B. Cherry, Ruth B. Durfee, Mary Elizabeth Katzenbach and Harriet B. Marvel.
A Service of Thanksgiving and Tribute will be held on Saturday, Aug. 3, at 11 a.m. in the First Congregational Church, 282 Rock St., Fall River.. Arrangements are by the ‘Cherry Place’ Home of Waring-Sullivan in Fall River.
Malcolm S. Collins
Retired postal carrier, Little Compton resident
Malcolm S. Collins, 82, of Little Compton, died Tuesday, June 18, 2002, at Crawford Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Fall River, after a brief illness. He was the husband of Helen E. (Shurtleff) Collins.
Born in Westport, a son of the late William R. and Verna A. (Sanford) Collins, he had lived in Little Compton for the past 53 years.
A graduate of Westport High School, he was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a rural mail carrier until his retirement in 1984.
Mr. Collins was an Army veteran of World War II and a mmber of the American Legion Post #37, Little Compton.
In addition to his wife, he leaves a son, Malcom S. Collins Jr. of Little Compton; three sisters, Mildred C. Bailey of New Bedford, Myrtle Collins of Westport, and Bessie A. Collins of Westport; two grandchildren, Peter A. and Beth L. Collins; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Kenneth R., Ruth M. and William Collins.
His services will be private. Arrangements are by the Potter Funeral Home, Westport.
Manuel Medeiros Teves
Grandfather of 14, great-grandfather of six
Manuel Medeiros Teves, 89, of 803 State Road, Westport, formerly of Davis Street, Fall River, died Sunday, June 16, after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Maria (Almeida) Teves.
Born in Arrifes, Sao Miguel, Azores, he was the son of the late Manuel and Maria (Roposo Relva) Teves. He came here in 1983.
He was a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Church.
Mr. Teves leaves four sons, Manuel Teves of Fall River, Jose and Dinarte Teves, both of Edmonton, Alberta, and Joao Teves of Westport; a daughter, Maria Sousa of Fall River; a sister, Maria Rosaria Farias of Sao Miguel; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were by the Silva-Faria Funeral Home in Fall River.

Dora B. St. Angelo
Army veteran of World War II
Dora B. St. Angelo, 85, of Patricia Ann Drive, died Saturday, June 15, 2002, at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the wife of Edward St. Angelo.
Born in Quincy, Mass., a daughter of the late Otis M. and Ida B. (Pearce) Bailey, she had lived in Barrington before moving to Bristol seven years ago.
Mrs. St. Angelo was an Army veteran of World War II, serving as a registered nurse in Europe.
Besides her husband, she leaves three sons, Robert E. St. Angelo of West Palm beach, Fla. and Edward St. Angelo Jr. and John St. Angelo, both of Barrington; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 19, in the Perry McStay Funeral Home in East Providence. Burial with military honors followed in the Forest Chapel Cemetery in Barrington.
Julia Klibanoff
Moved to United States 55 years ago
Julia (VanDonnick) Klibanoff, 78, of Rumford, died Friday, June 14, 2002, at Miriam Hospital in Providence. She was the wife of the late Dr. Max Klibanoff.
Born in Belgium, a daughter of the late Gommaar August and Marie (Van dePoole) Van Donnick, she moved to the United States at age 23 and had lived in Rumford section of East Providence since 1956.
Mrs. Klibanoff was a member of Temple Emanu El. She enjoyed square dancing, gardening, sewing, and oil painting.
She leaves a daughter, Deborah Klibanoff of Barrington; two sons, David Klibanoff of Rehoboth and Gary Klibanoff of Dighton; a sister, Kristien Van Donnick in Belgium; two brothers, Henri and Jos Van Donnick, both in Belgium; and five grandchildren. She was a sister of the late Karel Van Donnick.
A graveside service was held Monday, June 17 in Lincoln Park Cemetery in Warwick.
Sally A. Harrison
Lived in town for 16 years
Sally A. Harrison, 63, of Bay Road, died Tuesday, June 18, 2002, at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. She was the wife of Robert P. Harrison.
Born in New Haven, Conn., a daughter of Dorothy (Tonge) Sabo of East Providence and the late Joseph Sabo, she had lived in Barrington for 16 years. Mrs. Harrison was a trust officer at the former Bank of New England for 10 years before retiring. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy and attended Southern Connecticut State College, both in New Haven. Besides her husband and mother, she leaves a daughter, Jennifer Harrison of Barrington; two sons, Robert Harrison of Maplewood, N.J. and Michael Harrison of East Providence; a sister, Linda Hodgkinson of Punta Gorda, Fla.; and two grandsons. A memorial service was held Friday, June 21, from the Perry-McStay Funeral Home in East Providence.
Jean C. Newman
Moved to Florida 16 years ago
Jean C. Newman, 75, of Tampa, Fla. and formerly of Barrington, died Monday, June 17, 2002 at home. She was the wife of the late Gerald J. Newman.
Born in Central Falls, a daughter of the late Michael and Carolina Drosd, she had lived in Providence and Barrington before moving to Florida in 1986.
Mrs. Newman was a graduate of Bryant College and had worked for several physicians in Providence and Tampa.
She leaves a daughter, Jill A. Newman of Tampa; a son, Scott E. Newman of Melrose, Mass.; and two grandchildren.
A memorial Mass was held Saturday, June 22 in St. Sebastian Church, Providence. Burial followed in the Swan Point Cemetery in Providence.
Joseph P. Souza
Served in Rhode Island
National Guard
Joseph P. Souza, 59, of Seaconnet Avenue, Portsmouth, died Friday, July 26, 2002, after an illness. He was the companion of Betsy Bottari of Portsmouth.
Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Joseph and Antonetta (Faria) Souza. Mr. Souza served in the Rhode Island National Guard.
He leaves two sons, Philip Souza Rechner of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Jason Souza Rechner of San Diego, Calif.; a brother, Paul Souza of Lima, Peru; a half sister, Branca Christina Souza of Santa Maria, Azores; and three grandchildren.
His funeral was private.
